* Chapter 176: Thorfinn and Leif have a heart-to-heart and talk about what to expect in Vinland. During this, Leif remarks that Thorfinn is "all grown up" and how Thors would be proud. Thorfinn is taken back, and then sees a vision of his other fathers, Thors and Askeladd, beside Leif, as Leif lovingly refers to Thorfinn as his son and to follow his heart.
** What makes this even more sad is that the current year is 1021 CE, and Leif up until then has been noted to have failing health and begun to show his age. Historically, the real Leif died between 1018 and 1025. It seems like this interaction will be the last time Thorfinn and Leif ever have.

* Chapter 191: '''HILD FINALLY FORGIVES THORFINN'''. After years of following Thorfinn and his group around and realizing that holding on to her anger is foolish and so tiresome, Hild walks right up to Thorfinn and says out loud that he is forgiven for what he did to her. She also goes on to say that he's a true warrior worthy of respect. These words have a profound effect on Thorfinn, who is at first speechless, then starts to tear up, and finally falls to his knees as he weeps openly. Hild holds on to his hands as he does so, comforting him. Gudrid and Einar, who was watching this exchange, also begin to cry on Thorfinn's behalf, with little Karli happy that Hild and Thorfinn are finally at peace with one another.
** The build up to this scene cannot be overstated. Years in-universe and years in real time, we have seen that Hild is hell bent on making sure that Thorfinn pays for murdering her father. But seeing how sincere Thorfinn is at wanting to make amends and that he simply ''isn't'' the same angry vengeful person she met in the past, convinces Hild to move on with her life and bury the hatchet with her former enemy, preferring to be his friends. This means the world to Thorfinn, as those words bring a small measure of peace to his soul and also allows him to live up to his father's words of "being a true warrior".
