* We finally get to see Neil's backstory, and boy it is a sad one. Neil Watts is actually Tobias Reynard, who got his name changed at the moment of his birth as Quincy decided the child should carry his mother's last name to honor her sacrifice and Lynri felt that "Tobias" didn't sound right with the last name "Watts". In the real world and the final iteration of the simulation we play through, Lynri decided to wait until he was born to get her life-saving surgery that saved him, endangering her life. Lynri lives past her prognosis to see him grow, but she still dies during Neil's childhood, leaving him and Quincy alone. On top of that, Neil and Quincy found out the child inherited his mother's condition shortly after her passing, and this lead him to continue with his mother's research. Eventually, Neil pursued the job at Sigmund to work with the technology able to decipher a message that she had left for him in her memories.

** The consequences of Tobias' death are devastating. Lynri broke up with Quincy despite all his attempts to convince her to come back home. She became a full-time employee of the Yu-Haynes Foundation and worked on her research until her later life, without truly bonding with anyone ever again. But Lynri never forgot Quincy, as she decided to create a copy of him from her memory of their first date to use as a test subject for her simulations.

* We finally get to see Neil's backstory, and boy it is a sad one. Most of the game shows us an alternate reality where Neil is born premature and his name is Tobias. He tragically dies very young, leading to Lynri leaving Quincy to keep on pursuing her scientific work. By the end of the game, we learn of his base reality backstory, where Lynri decides to wait until he was born to get her life-saving surgery that saves him, endangering her life, but she lives past her prognosis to see him grow, but still, unfortunately, dying, leaving Quincy and Neil alone. We see that Neil only pursued the job at Sigmund to actually work with the technology able to decipher a message that she had left for him.

* Lynri's life story. After spending an entire evening trapped in a crazy GroundhogDayLoop, Quincy is sent inside the mysterious woman's memories. There, he finds out that she was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition in her early childhood: the doctor told her parents she could still live a normal life, but there is no way to tell when and how much her condition will get worse, requiring a specific therapy for her to delay the inevitable. Even if she is just a child, Lynri understands the situation is serious because she noticed how her parents are reacting to it.
** In general, how her condition affected her entire life. Lynri knew she could get worse any moment or even suddenly die because of it, so she threw herself into her research and made very few friends along the way. She was sure that even Quincy would have abandoned her once he knew about her condition: at first, it looked like he did, but instead, it turned out he was busy recreating some of the most famous monuments from all over the world so that they could see them together without necessarily traveling.
** Eventually, Lynri's condition got worse right when she was halfway through her first pregnancy, forcing her to choose between giving birth earlier to get treated, or postponing her therapy until after her son's birth, sacrificing her only chance to save herself. Quincy convinces her to save herself, but she regrets her choice to sacrifice her son for her own well-being every day, especially after he dies.
