!!The original Game:

* Fail to save someone from their predicted death? Their send-offs can be downright ''tragic''. Some of the worst ones are [[spoiler:Makoto, Jungo, Joe, Otome and Io]].
-->'''Io:''' "No... This can't be happening... [[spoiler:Makoto]]... [[spoiler:Makoto's]] dead..."
** Failing to prevent Tuesday's Death leads to [[FridgeBrilliance Fridge Sorrow]] concerning Daichi. He's traumatized enough when you ''save'' [[spoiler:Jungo]]; if you '''fail''', then he has to deal with [[spoiler:watching him get beaten to death right in front of him, not fighting back for fear of endangering the hostage -- i.e. '''him''']]. No ''wonder'' he slips back to CowardlyLion afterward.
** If :[[spoiler:Otome]] is burned to death by [[spoiler:Bifrons]] then [[spoiler:Koharu is orphaned]]. Worse if you remember the scene where you promise to [[spoiler:adopt her if anything ever happens to Otome]]. Woof...
** If you let [[spoiler:Io die as a result of the ritual of summoning Lugh, [[PlayerPunch her actual death turns out WORSE than her death clip predicts]].]] To wit: [[spoiler:First, Io [[{{Gorn}} starts convulsing with green fire spewing out of her mouth. Then it violently bursts out of her chest, along with what appears to be a huge amount of blood. A pool of said blood forms around her, lingering long enough to mortify Daichi before she finally fades away,]] leaving everyone positively dumbfounded.]] The very next scene is one long YouBastard to the player (disguised as a MyGodWhatHaveIDone scene) for [[spoiler:not getting her to at least Fate Stage 3 and comforting her after it's revealed that she will be Lugh's medium.]] As if that wasn't enough, [[spoiler:she's heavily implied to have a crush on, if not fully in love, with the protagonist.]]
* Many of the 5th FATE Rank events as well:
** Io finds a little boy [[spoiler:contemplating suicide after losing his whole family. She talks him down, revealing she seriously considered killing herself as well, but found comfort in her friends. It works.]]
** Joe discovers that [[spoiler:his girlfriend was hiding just how bad her condition was when she abruptly passes away.]] He resolves to NEVER be late again.
** Jungo [[spoiler:decides to [[ShooTheDog set his cat free]] in a safe place with other cats so that it won't be in danger.]] That alone is sad enough, but Jungo [[spoiler:running off after while his kitty frantically looks and cries for his friend... The noises it makes are fairly accurate, too.]]
* Why is Keita so dead-set on not having friends? Because in the past, [[spoiler:his father tried to help his friends, only to get betrayed and stuck with their debts]].
** If you weren't able to prevent [[spoiler:Jungo]]'s death, Keita's Fate Events reveal more about this. Eventually, he learns that [[spoiler:his father died in the earthquake protecting a coworker]], and doesn't take the news well.
* The. Anguished. One. Full stop. Christ, he is 161% on humanity's side and he [[spoiler:gets killed by you on every route but his own. Raise his FATE rank to level 4 and you tell him you're his friend. Then choose to follow a different path. YouBastard.]]
* [[spoiler:The Anguished One/Alcor/Al Saiduq ending. Holy shit, talk about a BittersweetEnding. Alcor becomes God after killing Polaris and recreates the world anew. The Bittersweet part comes from the fact that Alcor BECOMES the world, losing his physical form and his ability to speak with Hiro and his other friends, but he can watch over the humans he loves so much. SOB.]]
** There's also the fact that you're [[spoiler: creating a new world from scratch i.e. a primeval world before humanitie's involvement. seeing as there's no mention of administrative authority or the things you can do with it in the Septentrione arc, it's likely that Alcor didn't use it to make the new world a modern one. you've essentially set humanity back centuries for true freedom. The best part case from this situation at least due to how it was used the new world exists outside the system, so Canopus or the other Administrators cannot interfere.]]
** [[spoiler: Record Breaker makes it a bit better, by making the cannon ending a mix of Triumphant and Kingmaker. Al Saiduq takes the throne, but retains his form because he is asked to reset the world, rather than choosing to become the new world.]]
*** [[spoiler: Record Breaker's Al Saiduq ending is equally heart-wrenching, though. You become the new Administrator, protecting Earth from future attacks, at the cost of no longer being able to live on Earth with your friends. Al Saiduq's happy to become your Sword and eternal friend, at least, and switches his striped suit for a bunny jacket.]]
* [[spoiler:Yamato's]] [[spoiler:HeroicSacrifice]] in [[spoiler:Ronnie's ending]], especially if you got his FATE to 5 [[spoiler:he tells Hiro that he's the only person he would consider a friend and equal]].
* No matter what path you take,[[spoiler:SOMEONE is gonna die.]] Going for [[spoiler:Yamato's merit system]]ending? Well, look forward to witnessing [[spoiler:Ronaldo's LastStand and poor Alcor's death]]. What? You want [[spoiler:a world where everyone's equal]]? Get ready for a REAL big TearJerker... [[spoiler:Yamato of all people TakingTheBullet for you. Alcor dies too, but is mourned by Ronaldo and the others.]] Going for [[spoiler:The Alcor/Good ending]]? [[spoiler:BOTH Yamato and Ronnie die]]. In [[spoiler:Daichi's endings, everyone but Alcor lives.]] Though one of these endings [[spoiler:[[NiceJobBreakingItHero Fucks things up]]]]. [[spoiler:[[DownerEnding BADLY]]]].
** Its actually implied that [[spoiler:Alcor may have been revived as well in the true ending]]. YAY!!
* Whether or not the [[spoiler:Black Frost]] you fight is the same one [[spoiler:from VideoGame/DevilSurvivor]], the thought of having to kill [[spoiler:one of the few kind (outside the overlord evil path)]] demons is devastating.
* The credits song on certain endings, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW3y5G0WmbI Beyond the firmament]]. Especially because we see that [[spoiler: Alcor got his wish granted]].
* The scenes are VERY easy to miss but if you follow along the Dera Deka sidequest [[spoiler:He tries to summon a demon to help you and your friends save the world...But summons Jikoku of all this and is mortally wounded. You have to defeat the demons as Dera Deka bleeds out muttering how he's been watching over his daughter even though he's in hiding. The daughter in question is Airi and he begs you to keep his second death a secret]].
** "I always had a line...[[spoiler:In case I was killed on the job...But I can't re...mem...]]
** ...You leave [[spoiler:the garage in a respectful silence]]...

!!Record Breaker:
* The nightmare sequence. [[spoiler: It starts with a pan across a ruined battlefield, showing major characters dead on the ground in small groups. It soon focuses on the still living Daichi, pulling himself along the ground and calling for anyone else still alive, looking in different directions to show that there doesn't seem to be anyone left. Except Yamato, who seems to have [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness softened significantly]]. Then Daichi shifts onto his back for a MortalWoundReveal, wondering whether the absent Main Character could have made a difference, and stating his faith that Yamato can still stop the appocalypse in his last breath. Yamato [[BreakTheHaughty doesn't think]] [[MortalWoundReveal he'll last long either]], but the scene seems to end with him [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence departing with Alcor]].]] And then Daichi [[CatapultNightmare wakes up screaming]].
** Other characters have their own perspective on this sequence, but Airi's is particularly worth noting here. [[spoiler:Hinako was the first fatality TakingTheBullet for her. Note that one of Hinako's fans was left next to Airi while Hinako herself was [[BlownAcrossTheRoom on a separate part of the battlefield.]] Airi meanwhile was too torn up over Hinako's sacrifice to contribute further to the fight and was cut down soon after. In the present time, Airi is still torn up about this and doesn't think she was worth Hinako's sacrifice. Furthermore, it's implied that Jungo tried to save her from the next attack heading her way but got there too late, so she doesn't remember his attempt.]]
* [[BittersweetEnding The Guardian ending.]] [[spoiler:The Hero becomes the new Administrator in place of Polaris, and with a human on the Heavenly Throne mankind will no longer need to fear attacks by the other Administrators. However, he must remain in the Akasha Stratum for all eternity, never again able to interact with his friends or the rest of the human world. After regressing the world he erases the party's memories of him, but they will likely still experience deja vu, as seen by Daichi trying to remember "something important" when he and Io graduate high school without their friend. On the bright side, at least Al Saiduq is still around to keep the Hero company.]]
** This ending's final Nicaea message drives the point home:
-->''The world goes on.''
* While it's actually a happy situation, Koharu's parents did not die in the regressed world and Otome did not adopt her. [[spoiler: But being confronted with the situation of the world and not having Koharu as a sort of 'limiter' on Otome, she now works herself to the bone and even begins to suffer from stress-induced Anemia. Otome also admits that she feels horribly lonely.]] The last situation goes more into a Heartwarming territory, though, [[spoiler: when Otome realizes that, even if Koharu is not her adoptive daughter in this world, she still has friends and comrades she can lean on]].

!! Septentrione Arc

* Fail Any of the deaths, if the player does not manage to save someone from their predicted death? Their send-offs can be downright ''tragic''. Some of the worst ones are [[spoiler:Makoto, Jungo, Joe, Otome and Io]].
-->'''Io:''' "No... This can't be happening... [[spoiler:Makoto]]... [[spoiler:Makoto's]] dead..."
them in time.
** Failing to prevent Tuesday's Death leads to [[FridgeBrilliance Fridge Sorrow]] concerning Jungo's death turns out worse for Daichi. He's already traumatized enough when you ''save'' [[spoiler:Jungo]]; from having been kidnapped if you '''fail''', then he has Jungo is saved. But if the player fails, Daichi was forced to deal with [[spoiler:watching him get watch Jungo being beaten to death right in front of him, not fighting and didn't fight back for fear of endangering the hostage -- i.e. '''him''']]. because he didn't want to endanger Daichi. No ''wonder'' he slips wonder Daichi slipped back to CowardlyLion afterward.
into a [[CowardlyLion cowardly state]] after!
** If :[[spoiler:Otome]] is Otome doesn't simply get burned to death by [[spoiler:Bifrons]] then [[spoiler:Koharu is orphaned]]. Worse if you remember the scene where you promise to [[spoiler:adopt Bifrons. He insists on stomping on her if anything ever happens to Otome]].
A pool of said blood forms around her, lingering long enough to mortify Daichi
stomach first, before she finally fades away,]] leaving everyone positively dumbfounded.]] The very next scene is one long YouBastard reducing her to a scorch mark on the pavement. An extra hit when the player (disguised as realizes that Koharu is now alone again.
** Joe's death comes from his phone running out of power and leaving him completely defenseless in the demon-infested world. Then
a MyGodWhatHaveIDone scene) Pyro Jack incinerates Joe to ashes. Which stay for [[spoiler:not a few moments, before getting her to at least Fate Stage 3 and comforting her after it's revealed that she will be Lugh's medium.]] As if that wasn't blown away by the wind.
** Makoto's death is a point-blank shot into the chest by Ronaldo. It's already bad
enough, [[spoiler:she's heavily implied but the worst part comes that the player can cause it to have a crush on, if happen. And not fully in love, just by being late. [[spoiler:If the player decides to side with the protagonist.Ronaldo, Ronaldo will shoot Makoto. Yes! [[YouBastard The player]] has just doomed someone to their death.]]
* Many of ** Io's death from the 5th FATE Rank events as well:
**
ritual is the worst. While the ritual is a success [[spoiler:and she channeled Lugh's power to unlock the Dragon Stream and incapacitate Mizar]], Io finds is on the ground and starts convulsing, with strange, green fire and blood bursting out of her chest. She ends up lying in a little boy [[spoiler:contemplating suicide pool of her blood, before fading.
*** There's also a mandatory scene to watch
after losing his whole family. She talks him down, revealing she seriously considered killing herself as well, but found comfort in called Io's Death, which is basically one long YouBastard scene directed to the player by having all the characters [[MyGreatestFailure lamenting that they didn't manage to get Io to open up enough to them]]. [[spoiler:That'll teach the player to not get Io to Fate level 3 and watching the Io's Resolve scene, to hinder her friends. It works.death.]]
** Joe discovers Even the Anguished One's death in any route, other than his own, is treated just as big as any of the others. While he is proud of the party for having the strength and will to defeat him and take on Polaris, they are still sad that they had to fight.
* Io's Fate level 5 event has her talking to a little boy that wants to commit suicide. And she admits that she wanted to kill herself, too, after her parents died. While she has changed her views, it's terrible to hear that this sweet little girl was so distraught and [[StepfordSmiler still smiled]].
* Joe's Fate level 5 event reveals
that [[spoiler:his girlfriend girlfriend's illness was hiding just how bad much worse than she let on and she died while Joe wasn't there. He curses himself for being flaky and not there for her condition was when she abruptly passes away.]] He resolves really needed him]].
* Jungo's Fate level 5 event has him decide
to NEVER be late again.
** Jungo [[spoiler:decides to [[ShooTheDog set

That alone is sad bad enough, but when Jungo [[spoiler:running runs off after while his kitty [[spoiler:the cat frantically looks around for him and cries cries... that sound tears hearts apart]].
* Keita is dead-set on never having friends. Why? [[spoiler:His father wanted to help his friends and said 'friends' disappeared into the night, betraying and leaving him stuck with their debts]].
** If Jungo ends up having died, Keita's Fate events reveal more about his father. [[spoiler:He learns that his father died in the earthquake by protecting a coworker.]] Keita does not take the news well.
* The Anguished One himself. Period. He is absolutely on humanity's side and wants them to succeed. And he has to die in every route but his own. Worse, if the player has managed to get him to Fate level 4 and called him their friend. And then picked a different route.
* The Kingmaker ending, which is the Anguished One's route. Talk about [[BittersweetEnding bittersweet]]! [[spoiler:Polaris is killed and Al Saiduq takes his place on the Heavenly Throne, with a new world to be created
for humanity. But Al Saiduq says that he will become the new world itself, meaning he will lose his friend... The noises it makes are fairly accurate, too.form and his ability to speak to the party. At least he'll be watching over humans he loves so much.]]

** [[spoiler: The fact that Record Breaker makes it a bit better, by making the canon cannon ending a mix of Triumphant and Kingmaker. Al Saiduq takes the throne, but retains his form because he is asked to reset the world, rather than choosing to become the new world.]]
*** [[spoiler: Record Breaker's Al Saiduq
ending is somehow worse.equally heart-wrenching, though. You become the new Administrator, protecting Earth from future attacks, at the cost of no longer being able to live on Earth with your friends. Al Saiduq's happy to become your Sword and eternal friend, at least, and switches his striped suit for a bunny jacket.]]

Yamato [[BreakTheHaughty doesn't think]] [[MortalWoundReveal he'll last long either]], but the scene seems to end with him [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistance departing with Alcor]].]] And then Daichi [[CatapultNightmare wakes up screaming]].
