It doesn't but it does give her superpowers. Berrie is made an official fourth Powerpuff Girl and together they square off against an alien invader and its monster. The monster knocks the three main girls out so Berrie takes the brunt of the monster's beam to keep it from finishing them. It saved Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, but it also further weakened Berrie to where she eventually succumbed to the leukemia.
