Literature/TheDresdenFiles, what with having a cast full of GenreSavvy characters and a PopCulturedBadass FirstPersonSmartass narrator, is absolutely ''[[ReferenceOverdosed crammed]]'' full of nerdy {{Shout Out}}s. And honestly, these are just a few that stand out. Harry rattles one off at least every couple of chapters, if not every couple of ''paragraphs''.

** Coupled with the early narration courtesy of Harry, the title makes another obvious reference to Upton Sinclair's novel, ''TheJungle'', which was set in early 20th century Chicago. Harry even lampshades it by quoting from the book.
