* Though their boxes are nowhere to be seen, Kirino also refers to ''Manga/{{Saikano}}'' and ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' by (partial) name -- "Tengen Toppa [[LightNovel/SisterPrincess 12 Sisters]]". This is in addition to an actual ''Sister Princess'' game box that can be seen in her closet.

* In the manga, [[LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex Misaka Imouto]] makes an appearance.

* When Kirino takes Ria to Akihabara in Episode 4 of Season 2, there's a brief close-up of a cabinet filled with ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' figures.

* In the pilot episode of the anime, when Kirino shows Kyousuke her large stack of H-games, several real-life titles can be spotted in said stack, including (but possibly not limited to) ''[[VisualNovel/SchoolDays School Days, Summer Days, and Cross Days]]'', ''VisualNovel/AkaneIroNiSomaruSaka'', and ''VisualNovel/DaCapo''. * The ShowWithinAShow Meruru is clearly a ShoutOut to ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'', complete [[Creator/YukariTamura with her voice actress]] [[WaveMotionGun and the wave motion guns.]]
** Actually, Meruru is half a parody of Nanoha, and half a parody of ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure'', because one, the civilian forms of the girls are a parody of Tsubomi and Erika, and the opening parodies the scene in the Heartcatch opening where they are walking to school and talking.
