* When dressing up a Goddess for a concert, one of their items they can equip is called an "Analyzer". It looks just like [[DragonBall a Scouter]].

** Ryuka's skills reference the VideoGame/{{Yakuza}}. Her leader effect's name, Like A Rock, is based on her inspiration's Japanese title. (And, of course, the completely-unrelated Music/BobSeger song.)

* The description of Neptune's [[InfinityPlusOneSword Kiryu Sword]]. "A samurai's blade that a man known as "[[VideoGame/{{Yakuza}} the Dragon of Dojima]]" used. He is said to have once resided in a certain Planeptune district.

* When trying to sneak into Lastation, Neptune says she ought to find a cardboard box and do a [[MetalGearSolid metal-snake sneak]]. The Japanese dialogue even outright name drops Solid Snake's [[Creator/DavidHayter English voice actor]].

** Monobear also mentions [[Manga/YuYuHakusho Kuwabara]], who looks very similar to one of the VisualNovel/DanganRonpa characters.

* There's a [[VideoGame/DanganRonpa "Monopanda"]] chirper character.

* One of the many NPC's you can meet is named [[VideoGame/ElShaddaiAscensionOfTheMetatron Luciel and look oddly familiar.]]

* On returning to Lastation and the CPUs are talking about why Neptune thinks Noire is a loner, Neptune replies that her [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Stand]] power senses it.

** Her blue color scheme evokes Franchise/MegaMan, and her Gold Form has a handgun appendage, reminiscent of the stock weapon of the ''Franchise/ResidentEvil'' games.

** Would have also been an awesome ActorAllusion for the English dub too, because [[Creator/ChristineMarieCabanos Nepgear's VA]] is [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Madoka]] (and Uni is also voiced by Sayaka's voice actress, SarahWilliams). Alas, CastingGag since the event with the English voices used isn't dubbed during that scene.

* The first time Neptune and her friends prepare to go terraporting, she thinks she's supposed to make a long jump across to reach the other landmass, and IF dares her to put on [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros overalls and a red hat]].

* The ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros'' reference returns from the original, only slightly altered; when Neptune considers jumping from land to land shouting [[CatchPhrase "Yahoo!"]], IF suggests she grow a moustache first.

* Lowee's Legendary Weapon used to be a spear until "One day, a [[SuperMario certain plumber with a moustache]] in Lowee crafted it into a hammer."

** Another quest is given by [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros "L" who wants a shell to hit "his brother, Kong, and the princess"]].

* [[VideoGame/SuperMario Player 2]] arrives into Lastation using a [[VideoGame/MarioKart Kart.]] He has no idea about a [[VideoGame/LuigisMansion mansion either.]]
* [[VideoGame/SuperMario Maryo]] shows up in the same chapter with Player 2 to find Mushrooms in Lastation, only to find none.

* Atranger is a reference to GeppyX.

Another quest is given by a "[[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Small White Animal]]" who has made so many contracts with young girls that it needs you to go out and get it some more magical contract paper.

* Neptune once met a strange mangaka that talked about the existence of a giant [[BlueDragon blue shadow in form of a dragon]]. [[Creator/AkiraToriyama Said mangaka wore a gas mask.]]
