* The [=BRT7=] Burst-Fire Gun is Franchise/{{Robocop}}'s pistol in all but name. Sadly, it lacks any auto-aim capabilities, but it still shreds up bugs just fine. Your move, creep. [[note]](For bonus points, the Dwarves frequently refer to the Glyphids as 'creeps'.)[[/note]]
* The Engineer's Breach Cutter is a [[ImprovisedWeapon modified mining tool]] that fires a line of plasma. It's basically the Line Gun from ''Franchise/DeadSpace''.
* The [[SmartGun Smart Rifle]]'s "laser beams curving from the gun's barrel to the enemy" bullet trajectory indicator is identical to the one used by ''VideoGame/{{Titanfall}}''[='s=] Smart Pistol.

* Choosing the "Thin Containment Field" upgrade for the Driller's Experimental Plasma Charger lets you detonate a charged SecondaryFire shot with the pistol's primary shot, replicating an ''VideoGame/{{Unreal}}'' Shock Combo.

* One of the possible [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G36Z8tSzR7w dances]] a Dwarf might perform near the jukebox bears some resemblance to [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Discord's]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36DUeE88F70 shuffle]].
* One possible toast the Dwarves can give is [[Music/SimonAndGarfunkel "Hello darkness, my old friend!"]]
* A couple of beers have references to ''Literature/TheHobbit'' and ''Literature/LordOfTheRings'': Underhill Deluxe's name is a reference to the alias Frodo uses in Bree, while the description homages the first lines of ''The Hobbit''. Another beer is called the Arkenstout, a nod to the Arkenstone that Thorin was seeking in ''The Hobbit''.
* One of the companies that brews several of the beers is [[WesternAnimation/SnowWhiteAndTheSevenDwarfs The Seventh Dwarves Brewery]].
* One of the available beers is [[Webcomic/FlintlockesGuideToAzeroth Flintlocke's]] Delight. Fittingly enough, it causes explosions everywhere when drunk.
* The Blackreach Blonde has mushrooms in the label that might seem familiar to people that've been to [[Videogame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim the actual Blackreach]], a dwarven stronghold. Perhaps to go with those shrooms' glow, it makes you sparkle and glow pink while dancing.
* The [[GeniusSerum Smart Stout]] has a subtle one that's easy to miss: "Imbibe enough of this rich, golden nectar and you'll be solving complex orbital insertion equations faster than you can say '[[Film/{{Thor}} This drink, I like it! Another!]]'"

* Season 03 adds containers of Rockpox specimens to the Space Rig. One's screen might randomly read [[https://i.imgur.com/S2xLBYo.png "Allan, pls add details,"]] referencing an infamous LeftItIn moment from ''VideoGame/HitmanBloodMoney''.
* Season 04 adds a ''[[VideoGame/FlappyBird Jetty Boots]]'' arcade machine to the Space Rig, training players to unlock the crates of jet boots they might find on missions.
** When using the jet boots themselves, your dwarf might say a random flight-related voiceline: "[[Music/FrankSinatra Fly me to the moon,]]" "[[Music/NancySinatra These boots are NOT made for walking]]," "[[Music/JohnDenver I'm leaving, on some jetboots~]]" or "[[ComicBook/{{Superman}} Up, up and away!]]"
* The achievement for staying atop one of the notoriously glitchy barrels in the Space Rig is called "[[Literature/TheHobbit Barrel Rider.]]"
* The achievement for completing a Deep Dive under 45 minutes is called "[[VideoGame/NeedForSpeed Deep For Speed]]"

** Several more beers are shout-outs to ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}}''. The description for Slayer Stout says that it was popular with dwarves who were seeking an honorable end in battle, just like Dwarf Trollslayers, while Longbeard Brewery is a nod to Dwarf Longbeard veterans, and Black Lager's logo bears a strong resemblance to the Dwarfs' faction symbol in general.

** The Driller's default appearance and loadout brings to mind Space Marine Assault Centurion squad. One of the official promotional picture is a squad of Imperial Fist Assault Centurion, which are yellow and armed with siege drills and flamethrowers.

* The Skullcap helmet looks like a sci-fi version of [[Literature/TheLordOfTheRings Gimli's]] iconic helm from [[Film/TheLordOfTheRings the live-action adaptations]].

* Two helmets evoke and reference UsefulNotes/TheVikingAge: the Heritage Miner's distinct eye guards are a similar style to actual Scandinavian helmets, while the Bolted Marauder's [[HornyVikings horns]] are noted to be "historically incorrect, but as a trope it is hard to deny the inherent coolness."
* Other helmets reference UsefulNotes/WorldWarI: Grandpappy's Doughboy is in the style of the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brodie_helmet Brodie helmet]], while a leather Flight Commander helmet's description wonders why it "makes you want to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_Camel sup with camels?"]]
