The Drag Race franchise has also expanded internationally, although Ru only hosts and judges series with her name on them. This started with Chile's The Switch Drag Race in 2015, Drag Race Thailand in 2018, and Series/RuPaulsDragRaceUK in 2019. Canada's Drag Race and Drag Race Holland followed in 2020 (the latter of which having the distinction of being the first to complete production and air during the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic) while further new additions in 2021 included [=RuPaul=]'s Drag Race Down Under, Drag Race España, Drag Race Italia, and spiritual spinoff Series/QueenOfTheUniverse. Series/DragRacePhilippines and Drag Race France joined the family in 2022, as well as the new Versus the World format, functioning as an international All Stars with seasons based in the UK and Canada franchises. Even more spinoffs premiered throughout 2023, including the likes of Drag Race Belgique, Drag Race Sverige, and Series/DragRaceMexico, Drag Race Brasil, and Series/DragRaceGermany.

* ArtifactTitle: Averted with [=RuPaul=]'s Drag Race Down Under. It was originally announced as Drag Race Australia, to be filmed in the eponymous country but including contestants from New Zealand (just like Drag Race Thailand includes queens from countries other than Thailand). Due to unspecified reasons related to the UsefulNotes/Covid19Pandemic, the cast was kept the same but filming was moved to New Zealand. The title was then changed to Down Under to be more accurate.

Misuse + speculative troping

** Avoiding this dilemma is most likely why, when Season 8 did a Film/TheWizardOfOz-themed makeover challenge involving the cast of Series/LittleWomenOfLA, at no point are they ever referred to as "munchkins". Likewise, one of the women discusses the other m-word, "midget". One would have hoped that most people would know by now that that's an outdated slur against little people, but she still hears it from time to time and points out that it technically doesn't specify "small person", but "small thing".

Added a Canada's Drag Race example, and rewrote an example about "on the street" segments

** Season Two was home to a pair of "on the street" challenges, one with the queens doing Candid Camera Pranks on members of the public, the other having queens try to sell tickets to a burlesque performance. The former challenge made a one-off return in All Stars, but otherwise the show has never tried to take queens out of the studio again.

** Season Two was home to a pair of Seasons 2-5, as well as the first All Stars season, all had "on the street" challenges, one with segments or challenges where the queens doing Candid Camera Pranks on members would go out into Los Angeles in full drag, and capture people's reactions to seeing/interacting with drag queens. These disappeared as the show worked harder to keep the cast under wraps during filming.
** Canada's Drag Race tries to emphasize the fact that all 3 judges share equal importance, and Brooke Lynn isn't the "[=RuPaul=]"
of the public, group. As a part of this, the first season had the guest judges serve as guest "host" for the episode: at the beginning of the runway segment the guest host would walk out to the chorus of "Cover Girl" and would introduce the judges and challenge to the audience. This is the only season of the show to do this, and it was changed the very next season: all three judges are shown walking the runway, but Brooke Lynn is the one who comes out to "Cover Girl" and introduces the judges, in line with the other having queens try to sell tickets to a burlesque performance. The former challenge made a one-off return in All Stars, but otherwise the show has never tried to take queens out versions of the studio again.show.

* NiceCharacterMeanActor: Quite a number of queens have been rumored to be pretty hard to work with in person. Bianca Del Rio has said that Sharon Needles and Willam were very bitchy to her when she opened for a Drag Race show, claiming Bianca didn't deserve to be there since (at the time) she had never been on the show. Adore Delano has also said that Penny Tration acted very stuck up towards her (despite the fact they were both the most popular of the Facebook-voted queens for Season 5, Penny only just barely winning over Adore).

Most episodes (including some of the international spin-offs) include the Pit Crew, a group of hunky, underwear-clad models who help Ru set up the challenges while providing eye candy for both the queens and the viewers. The Drag Race UK analogue, the appropriately named "Brit Crew", is a group of models wearing only Union Jack-patterned boxer briefs.

The Ace is NRLEP, and we can't apply it to contestants or judges. Already cut from Drag Race character pages on that basis.

* TheAce: From its many characters, the series has a number of Queens with a claim to this title:
** Sharon Needles, who pioneered a style of drag entirely different from anything seen before on the show. In spite of this, she proved time and time again why she deserved to be there, showing an incredible amount of nerve, wit, and talent all throughout the show, while still being unique in her display of freaky, non-conventional drag on the runway. She won four challenges during her season, a record that stood for many years (and is notably still the show's only ever queen to achieve all four wins on her own, rather than share any of them with another queenShea Couleé shared two of her four wins with Sasha Velour in season nine, and [=BenDeLeCreme=] shared all of her five wins in All Stars 3.), and she remains one of the most popular queens from the show.
** Bianca Del Rio, who came onto the show an incredibly seasoned, veteran queen, but still responded to the critiques she received. She brought a high level of professionalism combined with a great sense of humor to every challenge, and holds the distinction of being the first queen to never place low in a challenge.
** Season 8 winner Bob the Drag Queen has also been noted for her jack-of-all-trades nature, as lampshaded in her finale song, "I Don't Like to Show Off".
** In All Stars 2, Alaska demolished the competition and became the second queen to win four challenges in one season.
** In All Stars 3, [=BenDeLaCreme=] is so much this trope that she becomes the first queen to win five challenges in one season, breaking Sharon's record. Having proved herself to everyone, and no longer comfortable with the All Stars elimination format of the winning queens eliminating lower placing queens, she chooses to eliminate herself, having accomplished all she wanted to do. The reactions of everyone else say it all.
** In season 12, Gigi Goode’s answer to what she is good at was “name something.” She is the first person to win a ball, a Snatch Game, and a Rusical in the same season.
** In All Stars 7, Trinity Tuck won her 11th challenge, more than many an entires season’s cast combined, including Snatch Game twice, a four challenges in two separate seasons.
** Also in All Stars 7, Jinkx Monsoon officially became the Queen of All Queens, having won five challenges and five lip syncs.
** And not to mention, of course, [[Creator/RuPaul [=RuPaul=]]] herself, who has proven time and time again over the past four decades why she is known as the drag queen in American pop culture as well as the most commercially successful drag queen in modern history.

Vocal Dissonance is No Real Life Examples Please - we can trope it for drag personas and in-universe examples, but not for non-drag judges or contestants out of drag

** Jade Jolie and Willam both have extremely soft and feminine voices that work really well while in drag, but become this while in boy mode. When Jade portrays Music/TaylorSwift in the Snatch Game challenge, the judges say that it's a perfect match.

** Guest judge Esther Dean would be a rare non-drag example. As a songwriter she mostly works behind the scenes, so if you're primarily familiar with her as the ButchLesbian from Film/PitchPerfect, it can be a little jarring to hear her natural speaking voice, which is very high-pitched and girlish.

Moving pit crew tropes from Characters page - based on cleanup discussion. Don't want to lose any tropes, but we can't really put Characters page entries for real people who aren't using a fictional persona (there's a Reality TV exception for contestants, but pit crew are stretching it)

Added DiffLines:

Most episodes (including some of the international spin-offs) include the Pit Crew, a group of hunky, underwear-clad models who help Ru set up the challenges while providing eye candy for both the queens and the viewers. The Drag Race UK analogue, the appropriately named "Brit Crew", is a group of models wearing only Union Jack-patterned boxer briefs.

Added DiffLines:

* HiddenDepths: At first the Pit Crew were only there to be eye candy (in the first two seasons, Ru never even referred to them by name), later seasons have given members some additional developement, reaching a peak in Season 6 when they got their own special series on [=WOWPresents=], Oh Pit Crew, and were featured in [=RuPaul=]'s album The [=CoverGurlz=].

Added DiffLines:

* LivingProp: Literal example in that it's not unusual for the pit crew to be offered to the queens as props for a challenge.

Added DiffLines:

** For the pit crew there's "Oh Pit Crew!" and, in Season 6, "Oh Scruff Pit Crew!"Cue the queens barking at the scantily clad men

Added DiffLines:
