* GeniusBonus: While at a Cambridge College, Rick performs a "test" to figure out the speed of sound, or Mach 1[[note]]Part of the joke being that he could figure it out "off the cuff", especially with the speed listed[[/note]]. At the end, he says "... at this altitude." The speed of sound isn't one set speed like the speed of light - it depends on things like atmospheric conditions at each location.

* {{Bowdlerize}}: in a "Making Of", episode, it's mentioned that sometimes Rick and the producers have to figure out if some of the artwork they want to show can be viewed when broadcast in the U.S.; or is it "too fleshy"? (This despite the fact that, as they say, some of the art has been viewable, or otherwise on display in museums, for up to 2500 years.) This presumably results in some art not being recorded to avoid potential complaints to the FCC.

** "Germany's Fascist Story," in which Rick tours many of the places that were important in the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. This includes Munich, where Hitler unsuccessfully staged a coup in 1923; Nuremberg, the site of the massive Nazi rallies; Berchtesgaden, Hitler's alpine retreat; and Berlin, where the Nazis cemented their hold on power and where Hitler ultimately killed himself while the city was besieged by the Soviets. Rick also talks about how fragile democracy is, and that it's always one charismatic, all-powerful leader away from being lost if people take it for granted. He ends the episode with the advice "travel thoughtfully." Also, this episode's credits play without the usual HilariousOuttakes.

The full-length special "Fascism in Europe" also covers how the ideology impacted Italy.
