''1000 Ways to Die'' is a docufiction anthology series that ran aired [[Creator/SpikeTV Spike]] from May 14, 2008 to July 15, 2012.

Each episode of the show consists of several recreations of stories of people dying in spectacular, gruesome and often stupid ways. Names were changed to avoid lawsuits, but the stories are [[BasedOnATrueStory based on actual events]] -- [[BasedOnAGreatBigLie mostly]]. Many of the people die because of stupid mistakes, some die as a result of their own misconduct, and some third-party innocent victims die because someone else did something so stupid that the poor victim's death probably kept the other stupid person from killing ''themselves'' through pure incompetence in being alive. In a lot of these cases, you're not surprised the person died -- [[TooDumbToLive you're surprised that they lived as long as they did]]. The deaths are also accompanied with commentary from various experts on the science behind the deaths, as well as CGI animations that illustrate the extent of injuries down to bones being broken and organs being damaged.

Thom Beers (owner of Original Productions, the company that produced the series) narrated the show's two pilot episodes. Creator/RonPerlman took over as narrator when the first season began regular weekly airings in February 2009; starting with "Tweets of the Dead", "Shotgun" Tom Kelly assumed narrating duties until the show's end (Perlman's voice is still used in the disclaimer and title sequence).

Given how grim the show's subject matter can be, it tempers the mood somewhat by taking a thoroughly tongue-in-cheek approach to its stories; expect liberal use of BlackComedy (particularly from its narration, with retellings of stories often [[{{Feghoot}} ending with titles that are puns on popular figures of speech]]) and ArtisticLicense (embellishing or changing certain details for greater entertainment value).

At the end of all first season episodes, for the last item, the show is completely inverted, and instead of showing someone dying, they show someone who miraculously ''survives'' an event which, under normal circumstances, [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat they should not have lived through]]. These segments can usually be distinguished by changes in video quality, as they use actual footage taken with personal recording devices at a lower resolution than the show.

Each episode also includes commentary from various experts on the science behind the deaths. The series aired two pilot episodes on Spike in May 2008, with Thom Beers (owner of Original Productions, the company that produces the series) narrating.

* FourOneNineScam: A guy pulling off one of these scams gets killed in "Scam I Am (Dead)" when he takes a door hook to the eye.
* AcceptableBreaksFromReality: Yes, ''some'' of the stories featured on the show are [[UrbanLegends baloney]], [[BlackComedy but they're still pretty damned funny]].
* AcidPool: ''Deep Fried'' (the man who got fired for his HairTriggerTemper gets tossed into a vat of acid in self-defense when his boss tries to fight him off) and ''Acid Washed'' AKA ''Vat's All Folks'' (a crooked cemetery owner slips into a hydrochloric acid bath when he tries to toss a dead body into it after [[EvenEvilHasStandards his workers -- who were both ex-convicts -- refuse to do it]]).
* ActOfTrueLove: "Ichiboned" has themes of this; a newlywed Japanese couple are deeply in love and want to "consummate" their relationship, but both of them are so repressed that they almost never have the chance. When they finally go for it, they end up [[DeathBySex going out together in simultaneous heart attacks]] due to both of their hearts being unused to orgasm. It says a lot that, in a show based around making fun of people who [[TooDumbToLive die in stupid ways]], the narrator has nothing but respect for the couple and doesn't mock them at all, to the point of declaring their deaths to be the #1 ("''[[BilingualBonus Ichiban]]''") on the ''1000 Ways to Die'' list.
* AgonizingStomachWound: Discussed. When a man is put on an unsecured gurney by negligent EMT workers, rolls down a hill, and is impaled on a sign, the doctor notes that stomach wounds actually kill quickly as there is a large artery parallel to the spine. This of course ignores the fact that the aforementioned artery might not get slashed if the wound is caused by something much smaller than the sign.
* AlcoholInducedIdiocy: At least some of the deaths were due to drunkenness.
** In "Boris Bititoff", a group of Russian soldiers gets drunk on vodka while patrolling through the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. When one of the soldiers tries to have sexual intercourse with a rabid raccoon because his fellow soldiers struck him down, the raccoon bites his penis clean off. At which point he bled to death from his groin.
** "Poi Vey" has a Jewish Rabbi getting drunk at a luau in Hawaii after failing to hit on one of the hula girls, so he tries to dance the hula himself (in a drunken stupor) to win her heart, only to set himself on fire when he teeters towards a tiki torch, and burn to death, especially with his flammable high blood alcohol content.
** In "Toilet Rolled", an alcoholic construction worker who is known for drinking on the job site accidentally flattens himself with his Steam Roller while in a port-a-potty because he forgot to set the parking brake on his Steam Roller.
** "Just Plane Dead" has a former Airline Pilot who was fired for his alcoholism buzzing and strafing parkgoers with his RC Glider. He was reliving the glory days of his early flying career in the Air Force during Operation Desert Storm while taking hits of booze from his hip flask. When his plane flies into the sun, he loses sight of it in a drunken haze from the blinding light of the sun, until it just was about to impale him in the chest.
* AlcoholIsGasoline: Inverted. A fugitive tries to get drunk by drinking the gasoline from his motorcycle, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome only to throw up]] on his campfire and burns himself to death.
* AllMenArePerverts: The narrator briefly takes on this attitude during "Batter Upped" when the victim attempts to sexually assault his female coworker.
--> "Guys, how many times do you have to learn this lesson? No means no!"
* AlternateUniverse: The show does this by making up a what-if scenario of Creator/CharlieSheen's death by making up their own spoof celebrity called "Harlie" getting killed by the "Hollywood Hitman" for being unstable.
* AmazonianBeauty: Lydia from "Wet and Dry".
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: Averted most of the time, as people are usually shocked to see someone die in front of them, even if they were rather unpleasant. There are exceptions, however.
** "Bitch Zapped" has a shrewish woman nagging at her husband about mowing the lawn until she decides to do it. Eventually, she runs over her husband's arc welder cord, electrocuting herself. The man's response is saying "there is a God," and sipping some of his wife's martini.
** "Boys 2 Dead" has a washed-up boy band performing for an unenthusiastic crowd at a bar. The {{narcissist}}ic leader attempts to crowd surf only to break his neck on the ground when no one catches him. One {{beat}} later, the band continues their act.
** Also in "Down With The Clown" where after the children's clown dies from electrocution, the Insane Clown Posse members stare for a moment... and then continue their song (which, to fit even better with the trope, happened to be "In Yo Face").
* AngryChef: "Chef Boy-R-Dead" features a bad-tempered, demanding head chef whose sous chef plans to plagiarize his recipes. Just to be clear, he's not the one who ends up dead, it's the sous chef.
* AnyoneCanDie: While the show tends towards victims who get what they deserve, especially in later seasons, this trope is still in effect:
** "Fright-mare": A woman dies in her sleep from cardiac arrest after having a nightmare about a demonic dwarf who strangles her.
** "Nite-Capped": A man walking home from a New Years' party with his girlfriend gets hit by a stray bullet from another group who [[FiringInTheAirALot fired their guns in the air for their celebration]].
** "Belly'd Up": A {{belly dancer}} practicing for an upcoming competition accidentally hangs herself on a moving ceiling fan while practicing.
** "Tanked Girl": A sexy scuba diver is sitting in a decompression chamber, and explodes after a night janitor accidentally opens it.
** "Tanks For Nothing": A Buddhist yoga practitioner gets bitten by a Florida water moccasin.
** "Radium Girls": The story of the 1920s female workers who were exposed to radioactive paint at their job. It ends with the surviving girls starting a movement to demand better security for workers after one of them dies.
** "Sex Ray": A patient going for an X-ray gets a lethal dose of radiation poisoning while watching his doctor bang his assistant, whose backside was banging the "ON" button of the X-ray.
** "Pissed Offed": An Irish golfer went to America to play, and got a fatal infection from a rat who climbed into his pants, scratching up his leg, then pissed on those scratches.
** "Fin-ished": A fisher who is ''incredibly'' bad at fishing finally catches a fish, but it flew into her mouth and got lodged in her throat, suffocating her.
** "Ichi-boned": A repressed Japanese couple who died in the midst of finally consummating their marriage.
** "Poi Vey": An Orthodox Jew tried to woo a hula dancer, and burned to death after being rejected and getting drunk to dull his pain.
** "Blend-Dead": A health nut dies from a brain aneurysm after drinking so many of her homemade smoothies made from her garden, unaware that her landlord contaminated her garden with rat poison.
* ArtisticLicenseAnimalCare: The corrupt prison warden in "War-done" plans to share some cupcakes he "confiscated" (read: stole) from one of his inmates with his dog. In reality, this wouldn't be a good idea even if some of them ''hadn't'' been laced with PCP; cake isn't healthy for dogs and some kinds can be lethal to them.
* ArtisticLicense: The episode where the virgin at the brothel is literally grabbed and pulled into the dominatrix's dungeon. Obviously, she forgot to set a safeword (or, given he was gagged, a safe gesture), but sex workers, like any other workaday stiff, tend to have an aversion to soliciting extra work for themselves. In addition, sex workers know full well the boundaries around active & enthusiastic consent, as they rely on them too for protection in their jobs.
* AssShove:
** "Mercury in Uranus": The one about the hospital patient (who has been in the hospital numerous times for sticking objects up his butthole -- [[TruthInTelevision a common sight in most hospitals]]) who killed himself when he shoved nine glass thermometers up his butt -- all of which broke, gave him mercury poisoning and cut up his large intestine.
** "Butt Plugged": A recently released convict who, when confronted by an officer for drunk driving and having a hooker in his car, shoves a can of his illegal pepper spray up his ass to keep from violating parole. The cop pushes him against the side of his truck while questioning him, and bam! Pepper spray directly in the colon.
** "Eel Effects": The sushi school students who shove an eel up their drunk, hard-assed teacher's butt as payback for the abuse they struggled through during his lessons.
** "Mary Lou Rectum": A washed-up gymnast who dismounted off a trampoline and got a parallel bar support jammed between her vagina and rectum.
** "Fire In The Hole": A Neo-Nazi uses his dim-witted brother, who shoved a hand grenade up his butthole before getting arrested, in a jailbreak plot. The brother tries to poop it out, but it doesn't move. The Neo-Nazi tries to retrieve it by using a gloved hand up his rectum. He only succeeds in retrieving the pin and not only kills his brother, but he also dies in the explosion.
** "Colon-Gross-Opy": A tomboy competes with her male roommates in gross-out contests. She tries to one-up them in a farting contest by sticking a can of whipped cream in her bum to produce gas. Unfortunately, she dies from massive hemorrhaging since the gas in the can cause internal necrosis and hemorrhage.
** "Critter in the S***ter aka Ferret in the Hole": A ferret legger (someone who tries to see how long he can hold ferrets in his pants[[note]]Meaning that that joke on ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' about a law against putting squirrels in your pants for the purposes of gambling is real to some extent[[/note]]) cheats [[KickTheDog by starving his ferrets to make them calmer, so they will not squirm or crawl out]]. This works until one of the poor ferrets goes up his bum and gnaws at his hemorrhoid, which bursts open, causing the man to bleed to death.
** "Hi-Jacked Off": A drug addict who carjacks drivers makes the [[SarcasmMode brilliant decision]] to hijack a former female boxer. The woman decks the man in the face and his anus gets stuck on a tire nozzle, which inflates his intestines and [[LudicrousGibs blows his guts out]].
** "Ten-Ass, Anyone?": Two tennis amateurs, one who idolized Bjorn Borg and another who idolized John [=McEnroe=], have a tennis match. The one who idolized [=McEnroe=] tries to kill the umpire with a broken tennis racket, only to fall over and get that racket shoved up his bum and through his perineum.
** "Ass-plosion": A Scottish bodybuilder puts too much pressure on his anal sphincter when lifting an incredibly heavy rock, and shits out his entire intestinal tract. What kills him, however, is a heart attack from shock.
** "Gory Holed": A DirtyOldMan downloads porn back in the mid-1990s when the Internet was slow and downloads took forever. While bouncing in his office chair waiting for it to load, the friction causes the chair to explode, ramming a metal cylinder up his ass and making him bleed to death.
** "Info-Pain-Ment": Gunther threatens to do this to Lloyd when he messes up filming him.
** "Keester Sunday": One of two drug-dealing brothers caught by the police has stuffed a balloon filled with cocaine up his rectum. When the balloon bursts, they try to inhale the most possible to hide the evidence. They both die of an overdose.
** The show lampshades this trope with the aptly named "Another Up The Butt Story". In it, a lecherous groom-to-be is thrown a bachelor party. He attempts to have sex with the bachelorette in the bathroom, and the struggle caused him to accidentally flush the toilet. Said toilet had a bunch of water and air pressure building up from repair work, and a huge jet of water knocked him on his ass and conveniently onto a shard of the broken toilet, causing him to bleed out and die.
* AssholeVictim: Used rather deliberately. A vast majority of the victims in the stories are assholes, but it's most likely due to the showrunners changing the details of the real story so that the victims' deaths seem deserved. Seeing a bunch of gruesome/weird deaths of this nature would be depressing if the victims were just regular people.
* BabyDontGotBack: One story has a woman hiring a doctor to make her butt bigger to attract more men using silicone injections. Said doctor, however, is a complete fraud, and instead of using actual silicone, injects ''bathroom caulk'' into her. She eventually dies because some of the caulk was injected directly into her bloodstream, causing massive blood clots to form, almost completely cutting off blood flow to her whole body.
* BackAlleyDoctor: "Caulk Blocked" has a woman go to a shady plastic surgeon to get her rear end enlarged. Unfortunately for her, the man uses caulk instead of silicone, some of which ends up injected directly into her bloodstream.
* BadassBaritone: The Narrator, thanks to Creator/RonPerlman's voice.
* BaitAndSwitch: Sometimes, there will be a twist on either how a character will die, or ''who'' will die:
** In "Apocalypse Harlie", The "Hollywood Hitman" is tasked with murdering the show's Creator/CharlieSheen knockoff because of how unstable he's become. However, Harlie does the job for him, falling onto his own machete.
** "Signed Out": A lazy husband beats himself up to avoid signing divorce papers from his wife so that way he can blame his wife for being abusive to him and put her behind bars. While he could have easily killed himself from self-inflicted injuries (his banging his head against a metal dial on the fireplace could have split his skull open no problem), it was the incompetent [=EMT=]s who caused his death when they didn't park his gurney and left him to roll down a hill and catapult into a road sign, which impales him in the stomach.
** "Hummus Among Us": The Libyan terrorists who sold government stockpiles to Al Qaeda. Habib's shooting demonstration could have killed them all (since this show has had people getting killed from bullets ricocheting everywhere and making Swiss cheese out of their skulls or their viscera), but instead, he hits a barrel, mislabeled as containing hummus, but which actually contained mustard gas (which caused blisters and irritation from the inside-out) and sarin gas (which scrambled their nervous system), killing everyone in the room.
** "Mine Over Splatter": Three former Vietnamese soldiers play RussianRoulette to settle their argument over what's the best aphrodisiac. After all of them survive, they celebrate by stomping the ground, which triggers a land mine left over from the Vietnam War that was still in working condition.
** "Easy Slider": Two people sneak into a neighbor's pool, which is under construction. After swimming dangerously close to submerged power cords and the man shooting a nail gun at his girlfriend's beer can, he decides to make a Slip-N-Slide using a tarp. Of course, neither of them notices the nail sticking through the tarp, which disembowels him.
** "Micro-Whacked": A drug addict who ingests meth, cocaine, prescription drugs, and PCP. Rather than drop dead from an overdose, he put a lava lamp in a microwave to speed it up. It explodes.
** "Cult Evaded": An orphaned Goth girl living with a Bible-thumping religious couple is subjected to an exorcism, as they fear her tattoos, piercings, and goth boyfriend are signs that she is possessed by Satan himself. At first, you think they and their lunatic friends are going to end up killing her in the process of "driving away the Devil," but in the end, they all die from breathing the carbon monoxide fumes [[TooDumbToLive from the coal and incense they were burning in a closed tent]]. Ironically, the girl had the fortune of being in a layer of fresh air near the ground. She managed to escape, not caring that her foster parents are dead.
** "Offed The Hook": A redneck survivalist living off the grid takes a walk with a meat hook connected to a chain. Does he die electrocuting himself by throwing the hook onto a power line so he can poach electricity for his TV? Nope. Does he die from hanging himself while trying to lift an elk carcass? Nope. Does he die by [[EpicFail falling into a ditch and impaling his throat with the meat hook]]? Hell yeah.
** "Death of Sum Young Guy": A [[FatBastard gluttonous man]] makes his rounds at several Chinese buffet-style restaurants. During one of his trips, he nearly chokes to death while eating, but one of the servers saves him with the Heimlich maneuver. The man ended up dying from all the MSG he consumed which wreaked havoc on his heart. Although there are a couple of things seriously wrong with this; MSG isn't used very much anymore due to the negative perception surrounding it, and actual scientific studies into MSG have basically proved that any claimed negative health effects it has are complete nonsense in the first place.
** "Cast Offed": A redneck ends up breaking his arm while cutting wood. Not one to spend his welfare money on something useful like a hospital visit, he makes his own cast. He uses a power saw to cut the cast off sometime later and manages not to cut his arm open and bleed out in spectacular fashion. He still dies, though, because his improperly-set bone caused bone marrow to seep into his bloodstream and give him an embolism.
** "Samu-Fry": Two bored Japanese-American teen boys decide to play with katanas after watching a samurai flick. You think that one of them would slice or stab the other one, right? Not really. As one boy gets ready to finish off the other, he gets stopped when his katana hits a low-hanging power line and fries his ass.
** "Pam Caked!": You think the new girl on the cheerleading squad would have died from falling head-first to the ground thanks to the {{alpha bitch}}y head cheerleader letting her go. Turns out the bitchy cheerleader is the one who dies when she gets trampled by the football team running through the banner.
** "Orspasm": A woman suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder (a condition that's basically TheImmodestOrgasm on a frequent basis and not as fun or {{fanservice}}y). You would expect the constant orgasms to wreak havoc on her body or be the catalyst in an accidental suicide, but no. Instead, her boyfriend (who takes sick pleasure in [[KickTheDog making her cum by tickling her and using vibration]]) bites it when he pokes her in the back with a muscle massager. The woman goes into one of her orgasm spells and knocks the guy down the stairs, and he dies of head trauma and a broken neck.
** "Furdered": They actually show two different ways this survival enthusiast could have died: by falling into a [[SpikesOfDoom spiked pit]] [[HoistByHisOwnPetard he made]] and getting a bear trap to the face. He actually dies when another hunter mistakes him for a game animal because of the pelts he was wearing.
** "Onesie & Donesie": An accident-prone home shopping network host manages to avoid death by having a folding ladder fall out from under him and having a piece of a samurai sword's blade break off and hit him in the chest (both of which are references to Internet videos that showed the same thing), only to burn to death when a onesie he's wearing catches fire on a scented candle.
** "Hammer Head": A perverted janitor at a prep school uses a video camera to capture some scantily-clad field hockey players during practice. He manages to dodge a puck sent his way by one of the players, only to get brained a few moments later by another girl practicing her hammer throw.
** "Sumowed": The asshole son of an exec tries to put on a motivational seminar for the company's employees. During a round of sumo wrestling in fat suits, one worker, whom he let fall during a trust exercise when he was supposed to catch her, knocks him out of the ring and down a cliff. He managed to survive unscathed... at least until he got hit by a car.
** "Tube Snaked": A groupie bitch kicks out her latest boyfriend (who was passed up for a record deal) in such a hurry that he leaves his pet boa constrictor behind. The snake nearly chokes the woman to death but she tosses it off at the last minute. Later, the snake crawls up her house's exhaust pipe and blocks the airflow when the woman turns on the heater, causing carbon monoxide to back up in her house and suffocate her. Of course, she doesn't know she was dying because (a) carbon monoxide is odorless, and (b) she was drunk and thought the carbon monoxide suffocation was just her whacking out on alcohol.
** "Lawn of the Dead": A group of stoners and cokeheads from the 1970s have a barbecue. One guy overuses lighter fluid on his barbecue but doesn't burn to death. There's also a lot of drug abuse (cocaine, alcohol, and marijuana), a woman who drinks booze while pregnant, and a woman who sunbathes, despite the carcinogenic effects of the sun's UV rays, and still no one bites it. So, who dies in this segment? A guy playing lawn darts. He throws one in the air and gets distracted by a woman flashing her breasts at him long enough not to notice that the dart he threw in the air came back down and pierced him through his skull.
** "Tapped Out": Two wannabe pro wrestlers practice crazy wrestling moves in their backyard. Among other things, this includes staple guns, fluorescent lights, and weed whackers being used to inflict pain on the other. One might expect the second wrestler to die from having his chest sliced with a weed whacker. Turns out the man who tried to slice his partner with the weed whacker died because he was beaten with fluorescent lights, which contain mercury vapor that entered the first man's body through his nose and through the staple wounds on his chest.
** "Sign Offed": A sign spinner has a competition against a challenger for the love of a beautiful barista, and he goes off the curb, but ''avoids'' getting run over by a car. However, because he hit the pointed tip of his sign on the pavement one too many times, this left a jagged corner of corrugated plastic, slicing his jugular vein and killing him.
** "Rebel Without a Pulse": A [[UsefulNotes/TheAmericanCivilWar Confederate soldier]] from a squad [[TheRemnant who hasn't heard that the war ended]] is sentenced to die via firing squad for deserting his men. The soldier does drop dead, but everybody missed him -- turns out he was so scared, he self-induced a heart attack when the squad fired.
** "Contact Die": The alpha bitch who seduced the nerd of the class didn't die due to breathing their experiment's gas (which is lethal in real life). What happened was that said gas caused a reaction that fused her contacts to her eyeballs, and she ran around in a panic until she slipped on the freshly-waxed hallway and died of a broken neck.
** "The Depart-dead": teenage {{southies}} playing Edward Fortyhands (a drinking game in which two forty-ounce bottles of malt liquor are taped to your hands and the only way out is to drink them both). You would expect them to die from alcohol poisoning or rupturing their bladders from all that drinking (going to the bathroom in this kind of drinking game is against the rules). Instead, they died from suffocating from hydrogen cyanide caused by a cigar setting fire to their couch (which had a lot of synthetic material as stuffing. It was one of those couches that would be right at home in a 1960s/1970s-style basement rumpus room).
** "Descent of a Woman": The mysophobic woman with obsessive-compulsive disorder falls off a ladder and hits a mirror. Miraculously, she didn't die from that. What she died from was pulling out a glass shard that was sticking from her armpit. The glass shard was keeping the blood from spilling out of her body.
** "Splat-formed": The cocaine dealer-cum-addict from the 1970s. Given that he snorted a lot of coke and was dancing really fast at a disco, you'd expect him to just simply drop dead from heart failure. Instead, this jive-time turkey tripped on his own platform shoes and got stabbed in the throat with the sharp end of his male symbol necklace.
** "Smother in Law": It is heavily implied that the obese and abusive mother-in-law, who was ultimately crushed by a falling fridge while trying to pull out some frozen pizza, would have been stabbed to death by her daughter-in-law, whom she slapped earlier.
** "Killer Tan": You'd think the two Guidos would die from tanning too much. Instead, one of them lights up in the atomic tanning booth, setting them both on fire.
** "In Farm's Way": A pair of teen delinquents are sentenced to do work release on a farm. One nearly kills his buddy by throwing a pitchfork into a bale of hay, narrowly missing him. He then starts playing with a captive bolt pistol (the weapon Anton Chigurh had in ''Literature/NoCountryForOldMen''), thinking it is a milk pump for cows and almost shoots the farmer's daughter with it before using it on himself.
** "Down With the Clown": A children's party clown out to stop Infernal Clown Posse (played by the actual members of RealLife band Insane Clown Posse) from ruining the reputation of clowns everywhere crashes one of ICP's concerts and gets hit in the head with a bottle of soda. You'd think that would directly kill him, but no. The soda did contribute to his death (soda has sodium in it in the form of salt, which makes water conductive to electricity, as proven when the birthday party clown tries to unplug ICP's speakers and gets electrocuted since he was still drenched in soda).
** Shown in retrospect in "She-Manned": a female body-builder/fetish actress who likes to sexually humiliate wussy men nearly drowns in her bathtub after drinking a mixture of wine and painkillers. She could have drowned right there and then, but, instead, she dry-drowned sometime later while crushing a watermelon with her thighs for her best customer.
** "Teri-Yucky" is a double one. A busboy at a Benihana-style Japanese teppanyaki restaurant[[note]]a restaurant where the chefs prepare and serve the food to customers on an open griddle, often doing crazy awesome knife tricks as part of the act[[/note]] takes his boss's locked-up knives after closing and imitates his techniques over a grill. He throws the knife up and miraculously doesn't get stabbed in the head or eye by it. Instead, the knife cuts the rope of a Buddha head decoration hanging above the grill, and ''more miraculously'', the busboy doesn't die of head trauma from getting whacked by it. The busboy does, however, get knocked out, and ends up doing a faceplant on the severely hot grill, burning his face and brains to a tempura crisp.
** "Fang Banged": A redneck decides to give his brother a scare by playfully shooting at him. The brother gets killed, but not by a gunshot wound. When he hit the deck, he landed on a rattlesnake, which bit him in the chest.
** "Homie's Dead" is one of the most triumphant examples: a burglar breaks into a house and knocks the daylights out of one of the residents. His wife attempts CPR, but to no avail: he's dead and the show goes to the usual screen numbering the death and giving it a title...'''but''', it turns out the husband has [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_syndrome Lazarus syndrome]] and comes back to life. The man recovers in time to scare the living shit out of the burglar, who falls from the balcony while trying to make his escape and dies from hitting the cobbled ground below.
** "Suck-Her Punched" is another triumphant example, with the one who doesn't die being the main focus of the story. A boxer dresses like a woman after a rigorous workout to cool down and walks to the alley at the back. A rapist spots the boxer, and you'd think he'd kill him after [[UnsettlingGenderReveal finding out he's not a woman]]. That's not what happens. After [[BerserkButton being called a lady]], the boxer kills the rapist with one punch to the temple.
** "Penis De Milo": A sculptor obsessed with art crafts a woman's body out of marble, calling it real, and not caring about his wife leaving him due to neglect. He then has sex with it and wakes up minutes later to find that his RagingStiffie is stuck in the statue. Normally, in a case like this, the man would waste away days later from dehydration and starvation. That's not what happens; what happens is the man frees himself from being [[{{Pun}} literally stuck in his work]] and falls to the floor in the process-- only to have his work topple off the table, crush him, break his ribs, and suffocate him.
** "Die Jump": A manipulative, amateur actress auditions for a local sports commercial by performing a high jump. She nails it but ends up missing the mat and falling on the hard ground. She gets up, allegedly fine -- in reality, her spinal cord was fractured, but not quite broken -- at least not until a track runner plows into her, knocking her down and finishing the job.
** Death number 1000, "Premature Endings", featured several dumbasses dying a variety of crazy, violent deaths in a hospital, but they're actually not the focus of the story. The main focus: an elderly man in the hospital about to die of natural causes while in the company of his loving adult daughter.
** In "Tunnel Vision," two cheesesteak vendors at a Philly street art festival get into a war over customers. This culminates in the first vendor using a Molotov cocktail against his rival, with which he accidentally sets his own arm on fire after tossing it. Sounds like a typical "[[ManOnFire man burns to death]]" story, right? Not really. Much like in a ''WesternAnimation/WileECoyoteAndTheRoadRunner'' cartoon, the man runs screaming into a tunnel that's actually painted on a wall with some impressive and realistic 3D art. [[{{Deconstruction}} Unlike the Looney Tunes cartoons]], the vendor dies from a skull fracture after hitting the painted wall.
** In "Headless Warden," the sadistic warden of a women's prison confiscates a box of cupcakes meant for the other prisoners and eats a blue one that's laced with PCP ("angel dust", a hallucinogen that was once used as an anesthetic but was barred when doctors found it caused psychosis). While the man does go crazy from its effects, he doesn't die of an overdose nor does he die from doing a dive off his desk (it does knock him unconscious). So, how does he die? The guards use a flash grenade to disorient him so they can capture him, but the grenade rolled too close to his head and blew it off.
** In "Cop Out," a DirtyCop is sent to babysit some juvenile delinquents working community service by painting over graffiti and inhales some paint thinner. Yes, the paint thinner could have done extensive brain damage to him, but that's not what happens. What happens is that the crooked cop flies into a thinner-induced rage and threatens to kill the delinquents (they, however, don't get killed), but drops his gun. Just as the cop picks it up, the gun goes off and splatters his brains all over the wall.
** In "A Chainus Runs Through It" a conceited tattoo artist is targeted by an angry biker after the tattoo artist gives him Chinese symbols that translate to "douchebag." The tattoo artist survives getting punched in the face and is able to lose the angry biker in a chase. That doesn't stop a forklift from hooking onto his new piercing (a Teflon-coated chain he swallowed, took out his rectum and attached back together) and the chain rips through his digestive tract.
** In "Cross Bown'd," a guy becomes paranoid after winning a mega-lottery. You think he would get so paranoid he kills himself (or someone around him, like his butler and/or the $1000-a-day hooker he hired), but he doesn't. Instead, he shoots an arrow through a self-portrait he had commissioned and gets electrocuted when he grabs it after it hit an electrical wire.
** In "Pulled Pork," a crooked farmer is extracting semen from a pig, but the pig's squeals wake up his neighbor. As the neighbor comes in, the guy tries to run, but he trips over the bucket and hits his head on a metal pole. Surprisingly, the impact of the fall didn't kill him. What did kill him was the pig eating the man's intestines as payback for getting literally jacked off.
** In "Heim-Licked," an aggressive weight-loss boot camp manager meets his new overweight student. Not legally allowed to kick her out (as she could very easily sue him for discrimination), he decides to humiliate her instead. When she quits the course out of frustration, her secret stash of snack cakes falls out and the boot camp manager humiliates her even further by taking one of her snack cakes and eating it while mocking her with his mouth full. Not surprisingly, he chokes on the snack cake. However, he dies when he attempts to perform the Heimlich maneuver on himself using a yoga ball, bounces off it, and lands mouth-first on a sprinkler, breaking his C2 and C3 vertebrae.
** "Lac-Tosted": A trenchcoat-clad flasher named Gordon exposes himself to three moms (who are actually members of a local fight club called "M.I.L.F" -- "Moms I'd Like to Fight") out on a walk with their babies, who proceed to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat the crap out of him]]. The beating left him bloody, but not dead until he keeled over immediately after getting back up. What killed him was his drinking of the moms' bottles of breast milk, which had traces of proteins from peanuts, and the flasher learned too late that he was deathly allergic to them.
** "Bushwhacked 3: Waxed Offed": A bitchy redhead at a Korean spa nearly gets her snatch burned by a flaming bikini wax strip, but the sprinklers manage to put it out. However, that ends up killing her, because she turns out to be deathly allergic to water.
** "Mudder Sucked": The cruel sorority girl seems like she'll end up drowning a pledge in a mud wrestling pit, but the pledge's friends manage to save her. But then the sorority girl ends up standing over a sinkhole, and she ends up being sucked in and suffocated by the mud.
** "Any Given Gunday": It seems like the athlete will mistakenly shoot the {{groupie}} thinking she's a home invader. She does get shot, but not by him; she turns on his oven not knowing he has a gun inside, causing the gun to go off and kill her.
** "Jersey Gore": You'd think the obnoxious Guido working on his car would get killed by it in some way, and the show actually teases a few possibilities (getting his necklace caught in the fan belt, his cigarette setting off exposed gasoline nearby, the jack giving out and his car falling on him), but he actually gets killed when he accidentally rolls under a street sweeper that he didn't hear due to his loud music drowning it out.
** "Dead-dy Dearest": The audience is led to believe that the OverprotectiveDad will shoot his daughter's boyfriend. Turns out, his gun was loaded with blanks; he just wanted to give him a good scare. To demonstrate, he puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger... with fatal results. He didn't know that the air pressure would be enough to crack his skull.
** "Rocky Roadkill": It seems like the drug dealer who sells his product out of an [[BadHumorTruck ice cream truck]] will get shot by the meth addict holding him at gunpoint, but he successfully drives off. However, during his escape, he accidentally ruptures the freezer's refrigerant tank, causing the poorly-ventilated van to fill with Freon. He passes out, causing his truck to crash into a tree at 50 mph.
** "Flame Retard-ant": A {{pyromaniac}} accidentally [[ManOnFire sets himself on fire]], but he manages to put it out before he burns to death by jumping into a nearby body of water. However, the cold water causes him to go into shock and drown.
** "Abracadaver": A magician attempts to do the bullet catch trick with a gun fired by his ex-girlfriend turned assistant. You assume that since she's still bitter over their breakup, she's replaced the blanks in the gun with a real bullet to kill him and MakeItLookLikeAnAccident, and she does end up shooting him for real... {{accidental|Murder}}ly. Turns out when he tapped the gun with his wand, a piece of his wand fell off into the barrel and was later propelled by the force of the blank with all the power of a real bullet.
** "Cream-ated": A man who was abused as a child by his deranged uncle wearing a cow costume develops a fetish for drinking milk straight from a cow's udder. You'd think that would eventually end up killing him (as drinking milk straight from the cow can kill you via salmonella), but instead, the cow kicks his head in and causes fatal brain damage.
** "Bad Max": In an example not related to how the victim died, the raging self-obsessed actor is described as being a racist. When he gets pulled over for speeding and sees that the cop approaching his car is black, instead of insulting her for that, he asks her if she's Jewish.
* BackFromTheDead: A rare realistic example. In "Homie's Dead", a robber who seemingly beat to death one of the people in the house he had broken into gets a nasty surprise when the dead man suddenly revives due to the miraculous medical phenomenon of Lazarus Syndrome, in which blood circulation suddenly resumes minutes after stopping. The shock from this event caused the robber to fall over a balcony to his death below.
* BasedOnAGreatBigLie: Some of the deaths are based on real incidents, but in many of these cases, all identifying information has been changed for legal and ethical reasons. Other deaths, however, are probably {{urban legends}}.
* BearsAreBadNews:
** "Em-Bear-Assed": A man tripping out on psychedelic mushrooms crashes a [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom furry orgy]], mistakes a real bear cub for a costumed human and gets mauled by the MamaBear)
** "Tree Mugger": A loopy nature lover protesting against a tree being set up to be cut down watches in horror as a grizzly slashes him open while the man is chained to the tree
** "A Trip to the Maul": Another bear mauling death; this time, it's a man who is camping out in the woods so he can cheat on his wife and went blind from vasocongestion (temporary or permanent sight loss from having sex).
* BeastlyBloodsports: A Mexican man who bets on a rooster in a cockfight attaches razors to its claws to ensure its winning, and ends up getting his throat slashed by them.
* BecomingTheMask: Barnaby (the infantilist who got his neck broken from the oversized drop-gate crib he built) in "Crib Your Enthusiasm." He played the part too well.
* BestialityIsDepraved:
** "Boris Bititoff": A drunken Russian soldier attempts to have sex with a raccoon after he fails to score with a female soldier. It bites his penis off and he bleeds to death.
** "Em-Bear-Assed": A man tripping out on psychedelic mushrooms crashes a furry orgy, starts screwing a bear cub thinking it's one of the costumed furries, and gets fatally mauled by the cub's mother.
* BigBeautifulWoman: There's a contest of these, but unfortunately, a drunken heckler enters and makes fun of the contestants. He ends up dying when they fall on him.
* BigRedButton: The victim of "Sex Ray" dies because the backside of one of the two technicians who were making out kept hitting the 'ON' Button for the X-Ray.
* BirdPoopGag: In "S***-Dead", a man named Larry shoos off a sparrow hawk sitting on his lawn. After successfully ridding himself of it, the hawk drops a load on Larry's face, right in his mouth. He dies of Salmonellosis afterward.
* BittersweetEnding: "Ichiboned": a Japanese couple, married for seven years, have never had sex as they are too repressed. One night, the husband brings home a bottle of plum wine, split it, and finally make love...only to die from simultaneous heart attacks, as their bodies weren't used to the effects of an orgasm (especially one that comes from years of repressing any and all sexual urges and desires). Even the narrator admits it's a better way to go than most of the alternatives, and it's rated the #1 death in the show.
** "Premature Endings," at the other end of the list (#1000), also qualify. After walking through an emergency room full of people who have suffered bizarre (and presumably fatal) injuries due to their own stupidity, a woman goes to her elderly father's hospital room to visit him one last time before he dies peacefully of natural causes. The narrator comments that the show is like an instruction manual: you can do something dumb and end up as one of its stories, or you can live a sensible life and just watch it. One can argue that this one goes all the way to EarnYourHappyEnding: all humans eventually ''die'', but the man who died in this one had lived a decent life, was loved by his family and friends, and avoided [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy drunken stupidity]], [[AssholeVictim the business end of]] [[KarmicDeath karma's sword]], and [[TooDumbToLive all the other pitfalls]] [[HoistByHisOwnPetard common to]] [[EpicFail this show's]] [[UndignifiedDeath cases]]. For that, he got to die a peaceful death with his beloved daughter at his side instead of being, say, [[StuffBlowingUp caught in an explosion]] or [[GaiasVengeance mauled by wild animals]] or [[AssShove torn a new asshole]]. And for a mortal race, can there be a happier ending than a natural death surrounded by loved ones?
** "Radium Girls" had many 1920s female watch workers die of radiation poisoning after their employer essentially required them to ingest the radium paint they used (they were painting glow-in-the-dark radium compounds onto watch hands and faces, a task which requires very fine-pointed brushes, and was advised by management to re-point the bristles with their lips when necessary). This resulted in the "Radium Girls" lawsuit, which produced safer working conditions in watch-painting factories, but didn't do much to help those who had already succumbed to cancers of the face and jaw.
* BlackComedy: Quite a few of the deaths in the series are amusing in a dark and twisted way. Also, the [[Creator/RonPerlman series narrator]] displays a rather wry sense of humor.
* BlandNameProduct: Funny Eddie's target, "Infernal Clown Posse". Oddly enough, they're played by the ''real'' Music/InsaneClownPosse, a strange case of a group's name being changed for legal reasons and yet the real deal showing up anyway. Even stranger is that the clip is ''actually labeled'' "Insane Clown Posse" on the website. The Faygo they throw around is likewise only called "soda pop".
** There's also "Go(u)ld's Gym" in one episode.
** "Pained Gun" averts this by blatantly namedropping Website/YouTube.
** "Rife-Ill" also tries to avert this, by stating that the Taliban assassin's preferred firearm is a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMillan_Tac-50 McMillan Tac-50]], but the actual weapon shown [[MisidentifiedWeapons is not one]] (rather, it's the more famous Barrett M82).
* BlondeRepublicanSexKitten: The drunken bachelorette who broke her neck after a pigeon flew in her mouth. Said to normally be an abstemious Tea Party supporter (who planned on getting wasted on champagne and only champagne), but someone gave her absinthe and she went nuts. Also fake, as absinthe was proven harmless (well, besides for the high alcohol content) after the turn of the millennia.
* BloodFromEveryOrifice: "Ex-Squeezed" the narrator even points this out.
* BloodierAndGorier: The deaths have become more graphic in its later years.
** "Deep Fried" and "Vat's All Folks" both involved the victim falling in acid (in the former, it was an angry metal worker who was fired for his HairTriggerTemper; in the latter, it was a crooked cemetery boss who tried to get rid of a corpse so he can make money by reusing empty burial plots). The latter episode is clearly more graphic than the former because we see the victim half-melted in the live-action segment.
* BoastfulRap: One Chinese sweatshop owner brags about mistreating his employees in rap. Needless to say, [[TheDogBitesBack they end up killing him]].
* BodyHorror: Most of the deaths qualify (particularly ones where people are sliced up into a bloody mess, suffer the effects of a horrific disease, die from radioactive exposure, get melted by acid, get set on fire, or have half their brains blown out or cut off in some horrific manner).
* BodySushi: A lech at his bachelor party tries to rape a stripper who was used as a human sushi bar. He died when the toilet's flush mechanism blew up and shot his rectum filled with jagged porcelain.
* BookEnds: "Ichiboned" and "Premature Endings", of which are numbers 1 and 1000 respectively.
** The episode, "Death Bites", begins and ends with deaths being DeathBySex.
* BoomHeadshot: Cranial explosions are not uncommon. People have had their heads filtered out by everything from guns and fireworks to water nozzles at a car wash, and even from a laser gun by an undercover CIA agent posing as a restaurant musician.
* BoomInTheHand: In "Straight to [=DVDead=]", the victim (an egocentric bastard who tried to kill the other guy playing the protagonist of a low-budget movie set in 1775 so ''he'' can get that role instead, on whom the Narrator tells the viewers had previous criminal records) [[HoistByHisOwnPetard gets his hand blown up]] mid-recording due to overloading gunpowder into his prop gun before putting a real lead bullet in it, in an attempt to {{make it look like an accident}}. However, he died faster than expected when a piece of gun shrapnel got lodged in his right thigh, cutting the femoral artery and dying from blood loss.
* BottomlessMagazines: The AK-47 in "Ji-Had It Coming", which the victim (a former American journalist who denounced her U.S. citizenship, converted to Islam, and married a Taliban leader in Afghanistan) fires for at least six seconds before one of the bullets ricochets into her head; an actual AK's rate of fire would empty a regular 30-round mag in three seconds tops.
* BoundAndGagged: In "Chucked Up" (the story of the housewife who puts on a kinky web show for her husband by tying herself up, only to have a burglar come in, rob her blind, and sicken her to death with his bad breath).
* BreastExpansion: Of the {{Squick}} variety as opposed to being used for sexy purposes. One episode covers the famous urban legend "woman with cheap breast implants has her implants explode during an airplane flight." The reenactment scenes depict the woman's breasts growing into large proportions within a short amount of time due to the implants themselves expanding because of a change in cabin pressure, and it ends with the woman dying in a bloody mess. The validity of this particular story has been brought into question, though, since the story itself is commonly classified as an urban legend by places like ''{{WebSite/Snopes}}'', and ''Series/MythBusters'' would eventually go on to debunk this popular myth not too long afterward.
* BrownNote: An iDoser (a drug dealer {of sorts} who uses special mp3s that can create hallucinogenic effects when listened to) creates a low-frequency sound called "Satan's Jackhammer," which first makes him [[PottyFailure wet and soil his pants]], then makes his cells pop and his organs suffer catastrophic failure.
** A Jewish-American female breakdancer suffers a heart attack when her heartbeat is knocked out of sync by her extremely loud speakers.
* BuryYourGays: "Lesbosuction", "Lesboned", "Deadliest Munch" and "Die-Brator" all feature lesbians getting killed in various fashions. Surprisingly, the only gay ''male'' that dies in this show is the man in "Brain Worms".
* BuzzingTheDeck: A former fighter pilot turned airline pilot who had been let go from his job for his alcoholism was buzzing people along a seawalk with his RC glider. He lost sight of it when it flew towards the sun, and had the glider impale him through the chest.

As they run for their lives, one stoner falls on an agave plant (a succulent or thick-stemmed plant unrelated to cacti, but just as deadly) and is ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice, while the other stoner runs into another Saguaro cactus and [[EyeScream gets speared in the eye.]]
* TheCameo: The junkie who appears for a second in "Rocky Roadkill" was played by voice actor Creator/RobertAxelrod.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: An Amish youth on ''rumspringa'' went to a Halloween party, and tried alcohol for the first time. He died because his body lacked an enzyme to ''digest it'' and got poisoned.
* ChainedToABed: Happened to a cross-dressing cokehead in the 1980s who ended up drowning when his stiletto heels punctured the waterbed mattress on which he was chained.
* CheatersNeverProsper: Some of the victims died from trying to cheat at various games.
** An amateur motocross racer, vindictive after having lost to her rival, tries to sabotage her by sticking a bolt into her bike's chain. [[GoneHorriblyRight It works all too well]]: the chain snaps off, only to hit the cheater in the neck and slice her throat.
** A man enters a cockfight and cheats by putting razor blades on his chicken. After winning his opponent discovers he had cheated. As he tries to escape, he falls and his rooster uses its razor blade to slice his throat.
** A junkyard owner beats a group of heavies in a game of Texas Hold 'Em every time. Of course, one of the members realize that he has been cheating all along and chase him out to the junkyard. The cheater hides in a wrecked minivan and narrowly escapes the heavies. Unfortunately for him, [[LaserGuidedKarma karma bites him in the ass]] and a claw of a crane grabs the minivan and pins the door against him so he can't move. The minivan is then placed onto a crusher, which crushes the minivan with the cheater inside.
** Played straight with actual cheaters (as in cheaters in a relationship) who get their comeuppance. The victims of "Die-agra", "Erecto-Phobia", and "A Trip to the Maul" for example.
** The victim in "Ass-Plosion" eliminates one of his rivals in a bodybuilding competition by greasing up the bars on a weight. He gets one of the more brutal deaths in the series: [[spoiler: his intestines bloodily fall out of his ass, causing a massive and fatal heart attack.]]
* CheekCopy: Deconstructed in "X-Mess Carol". A drunk intern at an office party decides to photocopy her butt for her boss during a Christmas party as a gift to him. The glass breaks out from under her and the machine electrocutes her to death.
* ChekhovsGun: In "Slayer Cake", a bakery owner fires an incompetent employee, who throws a serving tray on the floor in anger and decides to deface several cakes with vulgarities written in icing in revenge. [[spoiler:The ex-employee then slips on the tray, falls down and stabs himself in the heart with the icing syringe.]]
* ChiliConCarnage: In "Chili Today, Dead Tomorrow", a dumb tourist tries to stomach a ghost pepper at a Native American Trading Post, but couldn't handle the heat. He accidentally then gulps down a whole jar of rattlesnake venom after mistaking it for water. He soon died from the poisonous venom.
* ChimneyEntry: One of the AssholeVictim casualties has a PsychoExGirlfriend that kept stalking her ex-boyfriend and his new lover, and that tried to get into the man's house via the chimney while they were away on vacation in order to live in and (probably) eventually catch them when they returned. Unfortunately, she got stuck on said chimney and died of dehydration... and the corpse was found by the lovebirds when they came back home and turned on the chimney, setting the corpse on fire.
* ClipShow: The Deathies (an award show celebrating the series' most gruesome death).
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Eccentric people are quite prone in this show, but their deaths are mostly combined with stupidity.
** The hippie woman who tried to revive a raccoon. Sure, performing respiration on a road-killed wild animal is not a good idea, but she could at least hauled it to the edge of the road first.
** The health nut who unknowingly drank contaminated health juice courtesy of her landowner in "Blend-Dead". This happened over a few weeks. It didn't occur to her that her "immortality cocktail" didn't work and she had plenty of time to call the doctor.
** "Rubbed Out" had a germophobe filling a bathtub with rubbing alcohol and ''bathed in it'' after being vomited on by a homeless person. Let's just say that ingestion isn't the only way to take in alcohol.
* CookedToDeath: "Batter Upped" has a sleazy carnival concession stand owner accidentally fall headfirst into his own deep fryer as a result of being dazed by running into a pole while chasing after a woman he had attempted to sexually assault. By the time someone finds him, he's already dead.
* CopHater: The victim in "Tread Marked" is a redneck who hates any checks on his ability to do whatever he wants, including the police. When a cop pulls him over for drunk driving, he steals his gun and nearly shoots him before a tire accidentally dropped by a junker bounces down the road and hits him with fatal consequences.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: The show's premise, particularly when dealing with deaths from bizarre medical conditions, like the Amish boy who went out drinking and died because he was born without an enzyme that processed alcohol, the pot farmer who [[GettingHighOnTheirOwnSupply smoked his own stash]] and ate a grasshopper (which triggered an allergic reaction he never knew he had), or any time someone drops dead from an allergic reaction that the victim never knew he had (the 32-year-old virgin whose first time having sex ended with him suffocating from a latex allergy to his gimp suit and the park flasher who died after ingesting peanut-laced breast milk from a group of badass moms who beat the crap out of him for being a creep).
* CurrencyCuisine: One story involves a Frenchman suffering from a condition that gives him an addiction to eating inedible objects, with his favorite being coins. When he can no longer obtain anymore, he starts eating things like thumbtacks and nails, eventually dying from his stomach being cut open by all of it.
* CyanidePill: "Spyanide" features an American citizen spying on his country for Nazi Germany. When another man starts running after him, he thinks his cover's been blown and swallows a cyanide pill. But in reality, the man just noticed he'd forgotten his notebook and wanted to return it to him.
* DangerousDeserter: "[[UsefulNotes/WorldWarI WW1]] And Done" is about a deserter from the German army who loots battlefields on the sly during lulls in the fighting and murders anyone on either side he comes across. He meets his end when he picks up a British booby trap thinking it's a food container, causing it to explode in his face.
* TheDarknessBeforeDeath: One of the depicted deaths has a pair of would-be Prohibition-era bootleggers unwittingly drink pure methanol, which metabolizes into formic acid in their bloodstreams and leads to death by organ failure. For one of the bootleggers, his eyes are the first organs to shut down, caused by the buildup of formic acid in his retinas.
* ADateWithRosiePalms:
** "Killdo": A horny woman who uses a peeled carrot as a dildo and ends up dead when she cuts herself from the inside and an air bubble gets caught in her circulatory system.
** "Unintented": A woman masturbating in a tent after ditching her boyfriend who couldn't satisfy her gets trapped in a freak windstorm and ends up dead when the tent slams onto the roof of a shed.
** "Heart On": The man who electrocuted himself after using a cow's heart hooked up to ''a [[TooDumbToLive wall socket]]'' as a sex toy.
** "Die-brator": A PsychoLesbian StrawFeminist who mistook a taser for a vibrator from her lover gets electrocuted when she turns it on. She received a package in the mail with the vibrator-esque taser and a note from her lover that said, "For when you need it most." [[TooDumbToLive She thought it was a sex toy, rather than a means of protection against what she despises most, a man]].
** "Mastur-Bitten": A crooked health inspector masturbates on a hotel bed to taint it with semen and uses his black light to show the owner there's a mess in the room. He uses this to get a free room, [[AccidentalTruth unaware that the hotel DOES have cleanliness problems]]... specifically, it has scorpions.
* DeadlineNews: "This Just In...My Chest" has a news reporter get [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice impaled in the chest]] by a mailbox while covering a hurricane. This was possibly inspired by Anderson Cooper's infamous [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omt8xb9rDzU near fatal incident]] during Hurricane Dennis.
* DeadpanSnarker: A dog, oddly enough, in "Doggie Style," and both announcers (Creator/RonPerlman and his replacement, Joe Irwin).
* DeadlyGas:
** "Trailer Trashed": A newlywed man cleaning his newly purchased trailer dies from breathing in the deadly fumes created when the gallon of bleach he pours into the trailer's toilet mixes with the ammonia gas exuded by the waste left in the septic tank.
** "Exhaustdead": A jerk planning to ambush his ex-girlfriend (who dumped him for being verbally abusive) and her date by shooting them with a paintball gun left his engine running for a fast getaway. Unfortunately for him, he backed his car into a pile of trash bags that blocked the tailpipe and, with the windows rolled up, the car quickly filled up with [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_monoxide carbon monoxide gas]].
** "Gasketballed": Two college kids play around inside a giant helium-filled basketball leftover from a pep rally...and forget where the zipper is to get out.
** "Wine and Die": A sleazy dude brings a Swedish foreign exchange student to a vineyard for a wine tasting. The place is closed, but they stick around and drink some of their own alcohol. Once she's drunk, they climb into a nearby wine vat to have sex. They start to feel light-headed from the carbon dioxide settling into the vat and become too disoriented to climb out, both dying from lack of oxygen.
** "Cult Evaded": A goth girl's religious fanatic foster parents and their cultist friends trying to exorcise her die from carbon monoxide fumes from [[TooDumbToLive the coal and incense they were burning in a closed tent while performing an exorcism ritual on her]]. The girl survives (because she had a layer of fresh air above her) and runs off to the mall.
** "Tube Snaked": An underwear-clad groupie barely survives being strangled by her ex-boyfriend's pet boa, only to die from carbon monoxide poisoning when the snake clogs her house's exhaust pipe.
** "Hat's All Folks!": A MadHatter who [[http://www.spike.com/video/mad-hatter/3508630 dies from breathing in the mercury used to felt the hats, causing mercury poisoning.]]
** "Fecal Attraction" (see DrugsAreBad below)
** "Coffin to Death": A Japanese rock star gets trapped in a coffin by a guitarist who upstages him with a three-minute rock solo, causing him to choke to death on carbon dioxide from dry ice that was meant to be used for theatrics.
** "Asphyxi-Asian": A Japanese game show contestant asphyxiates during a scuba diving contest when her oxygen tank got mixed up with an intake of truck exhaust.
** "Chemi-Killed": A scorned lab assistant pitches a hissy fit and throws chemicals around the lab, including a flask of sodium azide. The flask explodes in a sink of water, turning the sodium azide into hydrogen azide, which burns her face and destroys her lungs.
** "Rocky Roadkill": A drug dealer disguises his operation by running it out of an ice cream truck, complete with a freezer and decoy ice cream. All is well until one of his amphetamine-addict customers decides to rob him at gunpoint. The dealer jumps into the driver's seat and puts the pedal to the metal, successfully evading the gun-toting tweaker -- but the refrigerant tank in the freezer is ruptured during the escape. The van fills with freon, suffocating him and the man blacks out and hits a tree.
** "The Depart-Dead": Several teens playing Edward Fortyhands (a drinking game in which two bottles of beer are taped to your hands and you can't free yourself unless you drink all the beer from both bottles) suffocate when one of them spits out a cigar on the couch, which burns the couch and releases hydrogen cyanide into the room.
** "Die Laughing": A hazardous materials worker gets high on nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to escape from how much he hates his job. He fills his whole hazard suit with it and his brain shuts down from lack of oxygen.
* DeadlyPrank: "Smoked" has two guys who spend all day smoking cigarettes. One guy is sick of his friend mooching cigarettes off him, so he loads them into a shotgun shell to fire them in his mouth, thinking he'd just choke on them. He learns the hard way it's not the bullets that kill; it's the velocity they're shot out at.
* DeathByGluttony:
** "Gorgeous Gorge": A bulimic supermodel's stomach ruptures during her ritual of binging and purging in a hotel room.
** Also a contributing factor to the death of the belching man in "Gut Busted," whose years of bad eating have left his stomach full of ulcers (which were exacerbated when his girlfriend tried to fix his belching problem by punching him in the stomach).
** "Death of Sum Young Guy": A [[FatBastard glutton]] eats at so many all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets and nearly chokes. Thankfully, somebody saved him with the Heimlich maneuver. However, shortly after, he dies of a massive heart attack caused by the high content of [=MSG=] built up in his body. Although this is very much a case of ArtisticLicenseMedicine considering that the oft-claimed health effects of MSG have absolutely zero scientific backings whatsoever.
** "Tenta-Killed": An old-fashioned Korean father, in an attempt to dissuade a Korean-American boy from dating his daughter (as the father thinks that the boy is too brainwashed by Western excess to actually know his roots), swallows a live octopus whole. The octopus's suction cups latch onto his throat, suffocating him.
** "Scarf-Faced": A terrorist starved himself to escape his prison cell. When he meets up with his terrorist cell, he gorges himself on food, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome which turns out to not be a good idea after starving yourself for so long]] (The technical term is "refeeding syndrome").
* DeathBySex:
** "Ichiboned": (see BittersweetEnding above)
** "Lesbocution": A woman who just got dumped by her boyfriend decides to become a lesbian and celebrate by having sex with her female best friend (whom she had a crush on since junior high). On the way home, the woman takes off her high heels and leans against a metal traffic light pole -- just as she steps into a puddle with a fallen electrical wire in it.
** "Smoke-a-Doped": A sex addict puts an entire pack of nicotine patches on her body to quit smoking after her boyfriend (who hates smokers) threatens to stop having sex with her.
** "Vegged Out": A woman who uses a zucchini to practice fellatio -- and ends up getting it lodged in her throat after [[RakeTake getting hit in the face by a hoe]] (The garden tool, [[JustForFun/IThoughtItMeant not the other kind]]).
** "Die-Agra": man dies of a Viagra overdose because his wife slipped some in his beer, his mistress slipped some in his water, and the man himself took some before he skipped out on his wife to see his mistress.
** "Chucked Up": A woman acting out a bondage fantasy with her husband via a webcam, chokes on her own vomit due to her mouth being duct-taped shut and being sickened by a robber with halitosis.
** "Sex Ray" is an odd example, as none of the participants having sex died, but an onlooker. [[spoiler: The man was inside a hospital, having a brain scan taken using radiation. In a nearby room, a nurse and the doctor start having sex, accidentally hitting the power button for the radiation machine...]]
** "Erecto-Phobia": A man dies after having sex with three girls while [[RagingStiffie sporting wood that just wouldn't quit]] -- caused by a wandering spider whose venom causes erections in males before poisoning them.
** "Domin-a-Dead": A 32-year-old virgin on his first sexual experience with a dominatrix dies from a full-body allergic reaction from his latex gimp suit.
** "Les-Boned": A bisexual, nymphomaniac home seller gets it on with a prospective buyer (who's a lesbian) in the laundry room, noticing a bit too late that there was a gas leak, and that gas leak resulting in an explosion when the hot water boiler went on.
** "Hertz So Good": An exhibitionist couple (the male in the couple sporting a new Prince Albert piercing) gets it on top of an old transformer. The Prince Albert the guy is sporting causes electricity to shoot through his member and electrocute him. The girl remains safe, since she was sitting on the transformer and not touching the ground, thus not completing a circuit.
** "Em-bear-assed" (see UsefulNotes/FurryFandom below)
** Subverted in "Bed Buggered", where a nerd, who suffered the agony of being "sexiled" (read: kicked out of a dorm room or apartment by a roommate who needs a place to have sex with his partner) when his jock roommate landed some tail, finally got some of his own. While doing his girlfriend, the jock tried to hit on her. Unfortunately for the jock, the top bunk (Where the nerd and his girlfriend were doing the nasty) falls on top of and crushes him.
** "Ass-phyxiated": A weight-loss pill salesman with a fetish for fat women suffocates to death when his morbidly obese "client" passes out on top of him from an orgasm.
** "Deadliest Munch": A lesbian chokes to death on her girlfriend's candy thong.
** "Boris Bititoff": A drunken Russian soldier attempts to have sex with a raccoon after he fails to score with a female soldier. It bites his penis off and he bleeds to death.
** "Vom-Ate-Dead": An emetophiliac (A sexual deviant who gets aroused by vomiting or being vomited on) tries to pursue the winner of a hot dog eating contest. She forces him to throw up by sticking her fingers down his throat and accidentally gets a piece of unchewed hot dog lodged in her throat.
** "Crappy Ending": A tourist gets stung to death by Asian giant hornets while visiting a "happy ending" parlor in Bangkok.
** "A Trip To The Maul": A cheating husband goes blind from vasocongestion (going blind from sexual intercourse) after having sex with his mistress. He wanders around in confusion and literally walks right into a brown bear. The bear mauls him to pieces.
* DeathByAThousandCuts: The crooked art auctioneer in "Cham-Pained" after she tried to open the bottle of champagne for a champagne fountain, but accidentally [[EyeScream popped the cork right on her eye]], causing her to fall on the stack of wine glasses. Also, a {{Jerkass}} banker in "Skyscraped" when she looked through a large window, and a freak gust of wind shatters the window, impaling her with hundreds of sharp glass. There's also the flasher in "Wedding Crasher" who tries to escape but mistook an entrance for a clear glass window. You can guess what happens next.
* DelayedReaction:
** A Nazi was shot in the head during World War II. Miraculously, he survived, but the bullet was stuck in his head and located near a major artery. Fifty years later, the former Nazi (now living in New York City) accidentally bumps his head while getting milk from his refrigerator. The bullet finally hits its target and the Kraut goes kaput.
** A psychopath in the 1950s is subjected to electro-shock therapy to cure his psychosis. The full effects of the shocks don't hit him until he tries to escape, at which point the arrhythmia from the shocks causes him to have a heart attack.
* DepravedBisexual:
** The boss in #118, "Blown-Job", who gives a promotion to a man over his female secretary whom he regularly sexually harasses on the grounds that the man was more willing to give him oral sex.
** In "Les-Boned", a bisexual nymphomaniac real estate seller seduces men, women and even couples just to have sex, sell houses and make a great deal of money.
* DiesWideOpen: Some segments will end up with the characters with their eyes open after they had died.
* DirtyCop: The victim in "Cop Out" is a crooked police officer who takes bribes, squeezes drug dealers and likes to flaunt the authority his badge gives him.
* DirtyCoward: #350, "Harmored Car", where a wannabe pair of robbers hold up an armored car, but being new to the whole robbery thing end up in a shootout with police. Whereas Tyrone [[VillainousValour stands his ground and opens fire on the responding officers]], his partner Eddie immediately hides in the truck. He then peeks out through the rear doors, just as one of the cops' bullets strikes Tyrone in the chest and causes him to slam into the doors - crushing Eddie's neck between them. Tyrone survived thanks to a bulletproof vest but got life in prison; Eddie, obviously, [[LaserGuidedKarma died almost instantly.]]
* DisneyVillainDeath: The hitman in "Goon Interrupted" dies from falling 50 feet down a laundry chute while trying to escape from a mental hospital.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Yes, many of the people portrayed on the show were [[TooDumbToLive idiots]] and/or [[AssholeVictim assholes]], but in some of their cases, the horrible way they died was probably far in excess of what they deserved to have happened to them.
** Another good example was the nature lover who got hit by a car and decapitated while trying to resuscitate a raccoon that she ran over. Yeah, she was a little nutty and maybe giving CPR to a dead animal isn't necessary or wise, but there was no one on the road when she came to the dead critter on the road, so the driver had all the time in the world to stop or swerve.
** And the Amish boy on Rumspringa[[note]]A time for Amish teens to go out and live like "normal" teens {i.e., drink, smoke, have premarital sex, drive cars, experience modern technology, wear colorful clothes, etc} before buckling down for a life of work[[/note]] who died of drinking alcohol because his body was genetically incapable of doing so. He just wanted to have fun (considering the sheltered culture he lived in), it wasn't like he was a jerk when he drank, and the Amish don't really believe in modern medicine, so how was the boy supposed to know he had that problem?
** A stewardess is sucked out of an airplane while she was ''still alive'', freezing to death on her way down. Sure, she may have been a bit cranky and indifferent toward her passengers (as it was her last flight before she retired), but still, that's just ''awful''.
*** And this one's entirely true. This particular death is a reenactment of what happened to Aloha Airlines Flight 243 in 1988. Literally, the only thing they changed was the stewardess being a jerkass.
** Gunther in Info-Pain-Ment. Sure he yells and screams at his two friends, but they were more interested in fooling around than helping him. And one of them even ended up killing him when he used one of Gunther's contraptions in the wrong way. But bamboo spike in the ear seemed a bit harsh for Gunther.
** There was a man who got shot in the chest -- by a bullet that was [[FiringInTheAirALot fired directly into the air]] by some more rowdy New Year's celebrators.
** And the [[BellyDancer belly dancer]] who accidentally hanged herself when she tossed her scarf in the air while practicing for an upcoming contest. She did nothing wrong (except leave the ceiling fan on while she was practicing) and actually put herself through veterinarian school with her talent by dancing at Middle Eastern restaurants and nightclubs. At least she died doing what she loved...
** The Vegas showgirl who contracted a flesh-eating virus from an old, rusty razor and died of sepsis. There was ''nothing'' in her story to indicate that she was a bad person -- the issue was that because she performed all night and slept all day, she could never find time to get to the store. Essentially, the only thing she did wrong was ''not be more mindful.''
** The Christian boy who died when a meteorite shot through his chest. Sure, he was a bit awkward, and attempting to push his religion at a drunken frat party wasn't the best way to make friends, but he seemed like a genuinely decent kid who was just trying to socialize.
** The obnoxious girl who died from Irukandji syndrome ([[MindRape one of the most painful ways to die]]) after [[TooDumbToLive swallowing a jellyfish]]. She was only that way because she had a friendless childhood and she spent the last minutes of her life feeling her throat swell up, all the while getting painfully stung to death from the inside, with no one to help her because [[CryingWolf they thought she was faking it]].
** The girl who dies after her breast implants explode from high-altitude air pressure on a plane. Her only crime was getting cheap implants from a BackAlleyDoctor, as a result of her [[ACupAngst wanting bigger assets]].
*** Same deal with the woman who got phony butt implants so she can get with a rapper and suffered an embolism from the bathroom caulk going through her body. The only thing she did wrong was not to go to a legitimate plastic surgeon. (The case might have been inspired by people like [[http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20150612__Black_Madam__gets_10-20_years_in_butt_injection_death.html Padge "Black Madam" Gordon]] or [[http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/20/butt-implants-fake-doc_n_1103933.html Oneal Ron Johnson]].)
** The secretary from "Blown Job" (#118). She refuses to give her boss a blowjob to receive a promotion in return, so she drowns her sorrows in energy drinks. When she finds out that her boss gave the promotion to a ''male'' employee who was willing to go down, she confronts him about it...and suffers a heart attack from so much caffeine, effectively making this a Death by Sexual Harassment case.
** The woman having a long-distance sex play with her husband in which he is tied up. A crook enters the house, robs her and when he talks to her, his halitosis makes her choke on her own vomit. She did nothing except be kinky for her husband. [[KarmaHoudini In the meanwhile, the robber goes scot-free]].
** Non-death example with an unsympathetic accounting worker who vowed revenge on his former boss for firing him ([[NeverMyFault even though it was HIS lack of sympathy towards others and incompetence that cost him his job in the first place]]) by climbing up an oak tree and attempting to kill his boss surreptitiously when she exits the building. [[LaserGuidedKarma The tables are turned, however, when the former worker suffers vertigo from his allergic reaction to oak pollen causes him to fall off the tree and the impact of hitting the ground causes paralysis that kills him instantly]].

* DisruptingTheTheater: One story features a woman who never stopped talking on her cell phone wherever she went and didn't give a shit about whether or not other people were annoyed about it. She then goes to a movie theatre where she pisses off all the moviegoers until her phone explodes from a faulty battery and shrapnel gets lodged in her brain, dying from it minutes later.
* DistractedByTheSexy:
** "M-R-Ouch!": A double subversion in a highly unusual death. An armed drug addict breaks into the hospital looking for drugs, and he holds up the night-shift nurse. She gives him the drugs, but the drug addict holds her up even more. The nurse calms the addict down and then distracts him by stripping down to her bra, panties, and stockings, while at the same time leading to the MRI room. She turns on the MRI, and the gun flies to the MRI machine. But then the addict starts to tremor before flying head-first into the MRI machine, killing him. Turns out, the addict had a metal plate screwed onto his skull.
** "D-Parted": A flirtatious and recently divorced FemmeFatale tried to seduce a group of construction workers, one of which is so taken by the woman that he loses control of a concrete saw and ends up slashing the woman in half.
** "Re-Tired": The man who ended up with a face full of shrapnel from overinflating a tire -- all because he was too busy looking at a porno magazine.
** "Pornicated": Another porn addict who didn't realize his wife had left him and ended up dead from dehydration while trying to find his way out of the attic in which he holed himself.
** "Hard Balled": A jock who bullies other students throws a lacrosse ball at them. He's distracted when the prettiest girl on campus walks by and doesn't notice when a ball bounces off a wall and back at him, causing commotio cordis[[note]]Sudden arrhythmic death caused by low or mild chest wall impact[[/note]].
** "Sex Ray": The man who got his brain fried while watching his doctor have sex with a nurse (whose rear end kept hitting the X-ray button).
** "Lawn of the Dead": The man whose dart which he accidentally threw into the air, as his female companion flashed her breasts, lands in his skull and through the bridge of his nose.
* DoesNotLikeMen: The PsychoLesbian who sticks a taser in her vagina thinking it was a vibrator from her girlfriend.
* DoggedNiceGuy: The Orthodox Jew who tried to get a hula dancer to like him in "Poi Vey."
* TheDogBitesBack:
** In a Chinese jewelry factory, the workers are abused so badly by the BadBoss that they give him a poisoned "grill" that kills him by halting his protein production.

** When a woman working at an accounting firm finds out her abusive manager is only pretending to be injured, she immediately heads upstairs to report it to the higher-ups.
* DogWalksYou: An unemployed woman who reluctantly takes a dog-walking job gets pulled by a pack of dogs and gets fatally nailed in the head when she slams into a tree.
* DomesticAbuse: In "Mile Die Club", an abusive husband freezes to death in an airplane's cargo bay.
* DontTryThisAtHome: ''...You Will Die!'' Naturally, part of the disclaimer at the beginning of the show. And as if that's not enough to hammer the point home, they also flash an "Idiot Alert" when someone on screen does something so dangerous and idiotic that imitating their actions will not only get you killed, [[TooDumbToLive but you will deserve it for being so stupid.]]
* DraggedOffToHell: What the narrator said happened to the fake preacher in Cruci-Fried and the two Hurricane Katrina thieves in Who Ded.
* DragonWithAnAgenda: Faye was this in "Chef Boy-R-Dead". She was the second in command in a restaurant but was only there to steal her boss' recipes.
* DrinkingOnDuty:
** The steamroller operator who gets drunk on the job. He forgets to set the roller's brake when climbing down to go use a nearby port-a-potty. Need I tell you what happens next?
** A dump truck driver shows up for work hungover and accidentally buries a co-worker in the sand while said co-worker was digging a ditch.
* DrivenToSuicide: A lackluster Japanese rockstar ([[CallBack from the same band as the one featured in "Coffin To Death,"]] which featured his bandmate getting suffocated inside a coffin that contained dry ice) commits {{seppuku}} after [[CreatorBreakdown realizing how much of a failure he is]].
* DrugsAreBad:
** "Tone Death": An audio programmer creates a type of drug by using subsonic frequencies, the listening of which through stereo speakers could produce highs similar to LSD. While creating a new batch using military-grade hardware, though, the powerful subsonic frequencies liquefied his organs.
** "Curl Up And Die": a male ChattyHairdresser from TheSeventies makes a habit of seducing his female clientele with alcohol and quaaludes, a drug that was legal until the [=80s=]. At the end of the day, he was so hopped up on ludes and booze that he passed out on his curling iron, burning his trachea to a crisp.
** "Guns N' Noses": An African warlord is addicted to "Brown Brown": cocaine mixed with nitroglycerine-containing gunpowder. He snorts lines of Brown Brown off a surface he had previously placed diamonds on, mixing the drug with microscopic diamond filaments that shred their way throughout his circulatory system.
** "Fecal Attraction": A Keith Richard-esque rock star that runs out of drugs gets a tip from his bandmate on making jenkem, a hallucinogenic drug created from fermented human sewage. After running out of the "main ingredient" to make jenkem, he resorts to sniffing waste from a port-a-potty and dies from the high amount of methane.
** "Therm-Assed": A girl forced to go to a religious retreat spikes dinner with ecstasy. While everyone is high on the drug, she chokes a bit on some soot from a campfire and reaches for a thermos to wash it out. The problem? The thermos had boiling-hot water in it, which inflames her epiglottis and chokes her.
** "Dead on Arrival": A drug smuggler tries to sneak LSD through an airport by soaking his shirt in it and wearing it. His perspiration causes the LSD to be absorbed into his system, enough to cook his brain.
** "Succu-Offed": (See EyeScream below.)
** "Apocalypse Harley": A Creator/CharlieSheen-esque TV actor targeted by a mercenary who looks like Marlon Brando gets hopped up on coke and tiger blood. Hilariously [[MemeticMutation winning]] death ensues.

Unbeknownst to him, the seat still had a live ejector rocket in it and when he pulled the ejection handle, he was sent flying through the roof and his skull was crushed.
* ElegantClassicalMusician: A case features a beautiful and talented violinist who doubles as TheKlutz. She dies when she falls down her house's stairs and hits her head on the wall for not using her hands to block her fall (as she didn't want to damage them, being a violinist).

* ExactWords: In "Kill Bill & Billie", a man suspecting his wife of adultery calls and hires a hitman to tail her and kill her if he finds her with another man, along with the other man. The hit was arranged over the phone, so there was no way for the assassin to know the man he would kill was his client when he ordered a prostitute, who turned out to be his wife.

She then spends the last few minutes of her life running around in blind panic before slipping on a wax floor and breaking her neck.
** "Scam Eye Am (Dead)": A Nigerian scam artist gets found out and hides behind a door with a coat hook on it. Enter the angry scam victim, who shoves open the door and accidentally(?) impales the man in the eye.
** "Eye-Sick-Kill": A lecherous stoner mall Santa who got fired for sexually harassing his female elf workers gets an icicle to the eye.
** "Exploding Bowling Ball": Four drunk hipsters film themselves dropping things off a bridge with a high-speed camera. Works well enough until the bowling ball shatters, and a shard of the ball goes through the cameraman's eye into his brain, piercing the medulla oblongata and terminating organ control.
** "Photo-Dead-Ick": An anorexic, cocaine-addicted model passes out during a photoshoot from not eating and wearing latex BodyPaint (which kept her from sweating). As she falls, the model impales herself through the eye on a lighting post.
** "Eye So Horny": two brothers get drunk on their own moonshine and play matador. One brother trips and gets antlered in the eye and brain by a stuffed deer head.
** Ring a Ding Dead: A hipster goes to a garage sale early to get the good stuff. While there, he tries to steal a ring (An heirloom which the garage sale man has been looking for). During a fight to get it back, a secret is learned about the ring: it was a loaded ring gun and one of them accidentally sets the ring off into the hipster's eye.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: A rarity for this show, but not unheard of.
* FailedASpotCheck: The criminal from "Greased Is The Word," who was planning to rob a jewelry store and failed to notice he went through the wrong door... [[TooDumbToLive the door to a gun shop]].

** The lesbian couple who accidentally blew up the laundry room (and themselves) while having sex on the dryer.

** One fat man dies from his ulcerous stomach ripping open after he asked his girlfriend to alleviate his constant burping by punching him in the stomach, and another has a heart attack caused by the MSG in ten(!) plates of Chinese food. Although a real-life MSG overdose would at worst make you mildly ill, and even ten plates likely wouldn't be close to OD levels assuming there was even MSG in the food to begin with - considering restaurants now avoid it due to its (completely unevidenced) negative reputation.
** One tries to stop being a FatBastard by way of do-it-yourself liposuction. It didn't work.
** The food critic who died when he swallowed a plastic toothpick from a martini, which lodges itself in his stomach lining was both fat and a complete bastard (especially since his scathing reviews led to many restaurants shutting down).
** The [[PhonyVeteran phony Gulf War veteran]] was fat, a bastard for tricking people into thinking he was hurt in combat and died of a poor diet, no exercise, and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick having maggots eat at his infected bedsores]].
** The narcissistic owner of a theatre company in "Macdeath" who takes the lead role in his own play is put on a harness held by pulleys. The wire breaks due to him being too heavy for it to resist, hanging him upside down and slashing his jugular as it went.
* {{Fingore}}: In "Bot-ily Harm", a TeenGenius who used his robotic inventions to annoy his mom makes a robot with motion sensors from his Mom's Roomba. His bladed robot started up when the boy dropped a screw and picked it up. The robot went into attack mode and sliced off his fingers, cut his leg, and eventually went for his stomach.
** Don't forget the prospective Russian mobster who gets his fingertips burned with acid by his fellow Mafia members in ''USSR-Dead''. (As for the death itself, see GargleBlaster)
** The Yakuza leader who cuts the finger off an incompetent karaoke singer, then swallows it whole (only for him to choke on it, and die when his bodyguard improperly gives him the Heimlich maneuver).
* FiringInTheAirALot: A woman who just married a Taliban leader in "Ji-Had It Coming" does this to celebrate her wedding. But she loses control of her gun, and one of the bullets bounces off a metal pitcher and hits her in the head.
* {{Flatline}}: Used in a few deaths whenever the victim is in a hospital bed, such as the one about the Russian spy who was poisoned with a polonium isotope as punishment for defecting or the showgirl who suffered from a flesh-eating virus after cutting herself with a rusty razor.

* GoOutWithABang: Many people die experiencing an orgasm with a satisfied smile.
** "Ass Phyxiated": The chubby-chasing weight-loss salesman who dies after having sex with a fat woman.
** "Ichiboned": The Japanese couple who die after having simultaneous orgasms/heart attacks.
** "Coming & Going": The woman who got off while riding her boyfriend's motorcycle -- and ended up tumbling onto the road.

* GrievousBottleyHarm: Deconstructed in "Wanted Instead", where the victim tries to do this to scare people in a bar, and predictably gets his hand cut with the glass shards. He dies when a shard is deeply embedded in his hand and causes internal bleeding.

** The zoophilic Russian soldier who tries to rape a raccoon after getting cockblocked by a fellow soldier. The raccoon bit off [[{{Pun}} the private's privates]].
** The guy who [[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow whizzed on the electric fence]]--with obvious (and unlikely) consequences.

** The lesbian StrawFeminist in "Die-brator" inadvertently gives one to herself after she mistakes the taser her girlfriend sent to her as a gift for a vibrator.
** The Portuguese man treating Brazilians like slaves and forcing them to pan for gold. While swimming in the Amazon River, he stops to urinate and gets a candiru fish to lodge into his urethra. As if that wasn't disturbing enough, he rips the still lodged candiru out (and therefore, the inside of his penis), spilling out blood that attracts a school of piranhas that eat him alive.
** "Hertz So Good": A man with a "Prince Albert" penis piercing dies from being shocked by an old electrical transformer. The episode has a shot of him lying on the ground, smoke curling around his crotch.
** The bitter gymnast who dismounted off a trampoline -- and lands on top of one of the supports for the parallel bars. The force was enough to ''rip her rectum and vaginal opening'' and cause fatal damage. Doubles as ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice.

** "Dog Dead Afternoon": a dogfighter named Vick tries to steal a pitbull named Michael after using a tranquilizer gun on it, only to have a security guard show up during the job. So he tries to wait for the guy to leave, instead of just leaving when the guard falls asleep. The guard comes over to close the door to the dog pen and sees Vick, who shoots a dart at him. The guard falls asleep in front of the cage door and then Michael wakes up, mauling Vick to death.
** "Less is Mormon": The leader of a polygamist cult triggers a trap set up to keep unwilling wives in and intruders out while chasing a runaway bride; a spring-loaded board that shoots up and punctures his lungs and heart.
** "Sun Burnt" features a sociopathic nerd making a death ray that used a parabolic dish and tin foil to reflect solar heat into a laser. His attempt to cook a can of beans ended with his head getting a shiny new hole in it, thanks to his laser.
** "Film/KillBill & Billie" has a man who hires a hitman to follow his ex-hooker wife, and if she's cheating, kill both. The husband himself hires a hooker...the wife. Both get shot in the head.
** "Rife-Ill" features a Taliban sniper who misses, but the bullet ricochets twice and nails him in the heart.
** "Withdrawn" has a bank robber who straps a bomb collar around his neck, and pretends to be a hostage in order to secure an alibi should the police get involved. ** "Straight to [=DVDead=]" has an egocentric amateur actor with previous criminal records who plotted to ''actually'' kill the guy playing the protagonist in a low-budget movie so he can get the role instead. Said actor took advantage of both playing a duel scene at the moment. However, when he pulled the trigger at the scene's climax, he got his hand blown up and a large shard of gun shrapnel lodged in his thigh, cutting the femoral artery and killing him in seconds, all because he put too much gunpowder in the gun.
* HollywoodBlanks: {{Averted|Trope}}: an abusive father tries to scare off his daughter's boyfriend by "shooting" him when he catches them together in her room. After traumatizing his daughter and her boyfriend, he mocks them by admitting that the bullets were blanks and attempts to demonstrate by putting the gun to his own head and pulling the trigger. The burst of air from the blank cracks his skull, sending fragments into his brain and killing him on the spot.

As the plane started gaining altitude, the temperature in the cargo bay started dropping, and eventually, Nigel dies of hypothermia.
** In the "Slayer Cake" segment, an incompetent baker named Elias is fired by the bakery owner, Marion. In revenge, he vandalizes several cakes with slanderous and offensive messages, one of them saying "DIE." Satisfied with his work, Elias turns to leave, but he trips on a tray he threw on the floor earlier in a rage, and accidentally pumps icing into his heart, causing a heart attack. It's no surprise that the "DIE" cake is shown again after he dies.
** In the "Mastur-Bitten" segment, Palmer, a pervert and a scam artist posing as a health inspector, masturbates into a motel's sheets, planting false evidence to get a free room, saying "Ta-ta," to her as she leaves. Later that night, it's shown the motel could've used a real health inspector, as the room is infested with Arizona bark scorpions, which sting Palmer to death. The narrator ends his end-of-segment quote by bidding "Ta-ta," to the pervert.

* IWantMyMommy: In "Bucky boned" as Lenny dies from his intestines being poisoned after inadvertently drinking 2 magnetic balls out of stress from his illegal Ponzi scheme getting ruined from the market crashing as the FBI Feds are coming for him, he cries out for his mommy as he croaks.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: The Narrator. While he's fond of BlackComedy and often mocks the stupidity of the victims, there are times where [[EvenEvilHasStandards he'll express his outright disgust]] with the [[KarmicDeath more evil victims who have committed downright horrible acts]]. In "Chairway to Heaven", he shows his PapaWolf side and [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech expresses]] [[TranquilFury genuine anger]] towards the deadbeat dad who abandoned his family.

The woman dies of drowning in her own vomit (Since the thief's breath was so bad, it caused her to puke and she couldn't do it with duct tape around her mouth). As for the thief, well...he just gets away.
** The landlord from "Blend-Dead" who ''knowingly sprayed rat poison all over his tenant's vegetable garden, and didn't warn the health nut woman who died that her garden was contaminated.'' "[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depraved-heart_murder Depraved-Heart Murder]]," much?
** {{Subverted|Trope}} with the story of the three huffers who accidentally set one of their friends on fire after getting solvent on him and handing him a lighter. Even though they ran off, the narrator says that the two who ran off were later arrested and tried for manslaughter.
** The mob-connected grandfather from "Freeze Died", the Haitian brother from "De-Coffinated", and the Russian spies in "Radioactivate-dead" could fall into this. It's worth noting that these three are about the only deaths in the series involving premeditated homicides that didn't backfire.
** Subverted again in "Homie's Dead/Homie Invasion": While the story does seem to end in a similar manner that the "Chucked Up" story did, the narrator points out that the man who got hit in the head during the robbery came back to life [[note]]He had a rare condition called "Lazarus Syndrome"[[/note]] and the burglar was the one who died. This is {{lampshade|Hanging}}d when the narrator notes that there's no way that the show isn't about to let the burglar get away.
** The car driver in "Sumowed". Yes, the victim was a jerk and the driver was going too fast to stop. However, the car driver did drive away, making them guilty of hit-and-run.
** The hitman in "Kill Bill & Billie" is never shown getting punished for killing two people in cold blood. Although we're not made privy as to whether he got paid up-front or only after the job was done, so he may have possibly screwed himself out of payment at the very least.
** In an admittedly less funny example, the sexually-harassing, sexist, DepravedBisexual boss in "Blown Job". He's an obvious villain and the woman in question was obviously wronged, but unfortunately, ''she's'' the one who dies.
** The idiot janitor in "Tanked Girl", who messes with a decompression tank and causes the gruesome death of the young woman using it at the time.
** The abusive lover in "The Chokes On You". She hits a dwarf (played by Jason "Wee Man" Acuña) in the face with her purse, causing his harmonica to go down his throat, choking to death. What did she do while he was choking? — Laughing until the poor little man died (thinking his choking is part of his act).

** "She-Manned": A female bodybuilder and fetish actress who likes to sexually humiliate wussy men narrowly escapes drowning in her own bathtub, but dry-drowns while performing for her latest client due to the water she inhaled not being expelled from her lungs.
** "Rub-a-Dubbed Out" (the story of the scumbag who stole groceries from a blind, pregnant woman and gets trapped in a car wash) combines this with YourHeadASplode.
* KissOfDeath:
** The corrupt politician in "Scratch 'n' Snuffed". On one of his trips to his mansion in Brazil while servicing his Brazilian mistress, he was bitten by a triotoma bug (Also known as the "kissing bug"), which gave him Chagas disease and eventually killed him.
** A literal example of this trope would be the girl in charge of the kissing booth in "Spit-Ill". She only allowed paying customers to kiss her on the cheek and also stole money for charity. She made an exception with her high school crush and kissed him on the lips, but suffered a fatal allergic reaction from sunflower seeds, which her crush kept eating ever since high school.
* KungFool: In "Nun F**ked", an idiot tries and fails miserably to headbutt through a wood plank, then a cinderblock. * MadeOfPlasticine: This is where most of the show's ArtisticLicenseBiology stems from. Many ways to die ''are'' plausible enough, but the gory effects commonly depicted simply would not happen in many cases. So, for instance, impaling the back of your head on a high-pressure water spigot ''would'' be fatal, but it ''wouldn't'' make YourHeadASplode; the water would simply start exiting out through the path of least resistance, most likely back out from the entry wound itself.
* MadScientist: In "Snakenstein", a German scientist from the late 1930s experiments with reanimating body parts from recently deceased animals. When experimenting with total bodily reanimation on a rattlesnake, the snake bites him.
* TheMadHatter: A 19th-century hatter who lives up to the [[TropeNamer trope name]] from constant exposure to mercury... then dies of mercury poisoning.
* MailboxBaseball: One story revolves around a young couple who often go around smashing the mailboxes of their neighbors. One neighbor, who happened to be a retired steelworker, decided to reinforce his mailbox to make it bat-proof. When the couple return, the guy is unable to knock over the mailbox, and his repeated attempts lead to his bat splintering and a piece of it lodging in his heart, killing him.
* MakeItLookLikeAnAccident: The egocentric amateur actor from "Straight to [=DVDead=]" tried to kill the other guy playing the protagonist this way to have the role for himself. Unfortunately for him, he got his hand blown up and his femoral artery lacerated by gun shrapnel because he put too much gunpowder into his prop gun.
* MamaBear:
** A stoner runs afoul of a [[BearsAreBadNews literal]] one in "Em-Bear-Assed".
** In "Lac-Toasted", a flasher does his usual routine to a group of new mothers... [[MuggingTheMonster not knowing they're members of an underground all-female fight club]]. However, it's not the beatdown they give him that kills him; it's the breast milk he drank, which contained traces of peanuts, a food he was deathly allergic to.
* ManOnFire:
** A group of huffers (drug addicts who get high off the toxic fumes in common household items, like paint, glue, and anything from aerosol cans) finds a box containing jars of industrial solvents and one of them [[SarcasmMode has the brilliant idea]] [[TooDumbToLive to soak his clothing with the chemicals]]. Feeling a chill as the chemicals draw away his body heat, he then asks one of the other brain trusts if he has a light. Appropriately, the story receives the title "Huffington Toast".
** Then, there's "Poi Vey," about an Orthodox Jew who moved to Hawaii and was obsessed with a hula dancer, only to get shot down by her. The man gets drunk and stumbles into a torch ceremony -- where he is burned alive.
** And the one about a woman from the 1950s who gets her bouffant set on fire while smoking a cigarette with her boyfriend. It doesn't help that she slathered hairspray on it hours before the date.
** In "Butt F***ed," a chain-smoker has just suffered third-degree burns from accidentally setting his house on fire. He is wrapped in bandages coated with flammable ointment. But he cannot resist one more smoke and has the nurse sneak his wheelchair outside. He lights the cigarette, and some ashes land on the bandages. They set fire to the ointment, and all the bandages burn. The flames spread to the oxygen tank, which explodes, and the man lights up for the last time in his life.
** The pyromaniac who accidentally set his pants on fire. He managed to put the fire out by jumping in a lake, but by then, the fire had already eaten through his muscle and cartilage and he collapsed in the water and drowned.
** The coach who got set on fire in "Work of Fart" when his protege cut one apparently didn't know to stop, drop, and roll.
** In "Poly-Ass-Turd", a {{conman}} sets up a new age healer seminar to demonstrate walking on fire. When it didn't go too well with his clients, he demonstrates walking on fire himself. He catches himself on fire causing deep lethal burns due to his polyester suit. The others couldn't put the fire out.

** The Portuguese dude who goes to the Amazon to search for gold and abuses the natives he hired. He then went into the river to pee and got a candiru stuck in his junk. Pulling it out didn't help either. All it did was attract piranhas that eat him alive, much to the delight of the poor Brazilian slaves who had to deal with him.
* MessyMaggots: One segment is centered around a morbidly obese, wheelchair-bound con artist who lives in complete squalor. His lack of cleanliness is so bad that maggots have infested his kitchen, and have spread to the point where they're starting to feed off of his bedsores. [[RedHerring Surprisingly, it's not his lack of hygiene that kills him.]] Instead, he drops dead from massive heart failure due to his junk food diet and lack of exercise.
* MileHighClub: A horny couple tries to join, only for the festivities (and their lives) to be cut short by some bad turbulence.
* MisplacedWildlife: One segment is about a drunk Russian soldier who tries to screw a raccoon. What a raccoon -- which is native to North America -- is doing in Russia is never explained.
* MistakenForUndead: That's not a zombie; that's just a golf-playing cemetery worker suffering from a bad allergic reaction to fungicide he sprayed on the grass in "Par For the Corpse".
* MoeGreeneSpecial: A guy who likes to steal from yard sales gets shot in the eye by a gun disguised as a ring in "Ring-A-Ding Dead".
* MoodWhiplash: At first, it seems things were going down a DownerEnding path with "Homie Invasion": Brad was dead after his wife failed to resuscitate him and the burglar got away with the stuff he stole. ...[[spoiler: but then we ''immediately'' jump into the second half of this story: Brad came back to life (thanks to the Lazarus Syndrome) and scared the burglar, which caused him to fall off of Brad's second-floor balcony, smash his head on the ground, and die. There's a ''reason'' this half is called "Homie's Dead"]].
* MorallyBankruptBanker: One of these is killed by broken glass in "Sky Scraped".
* MoreDakka: A hold-up man who was planning to rob a jewelry store entered a ''gun shop'' by mistake. The shop's customers and clerks -- all legally armed and acting in self-defense -- put several rounds of ammo into his center of mass, killing him. Can also be considered an instance of [[TooDumbToLive More Baka]] on the part of the dimwitted robber.
* MuggingTheMonster: Sometimes the victim dies because they pick on the wrong people.
** In "Suck Her Punched", a rapist attacks a male boxer, mistaking him for a woman due to the boxer [[RealMenWearPink wearing women's clothes to calm down after a workout]], thinking "she" would be an easy mark. However, the moment the rapist calls the boxer a "lady", the boxer snaps letting the rapist know that he's no lady and gives the rapist a right cross in the temple so strong that it causes the rapist's dim brain to compress inside the skull and bleed out.
** In "Wrin-Killed", a purse snatcher gets his windpipe crushed when he targets [[NeverMessWithGranny a sweet little old lady who has thirty years of experience in Tae Kwon Do]].
** In "Lac-Toasted", a flasher decides to flash three new mothers out on a walk. These mothers happen to be [=MILF=]s (Mothers I'd Like to Fight), members of an underground women-only fight club, and they gang up and beat the fuck out of him. But this isn't what kills him. What kills him is the fact that during his 'show', he snatched some of their bottles of "mother's milk" and drinks them. One of the mothers happened to have been eating a lot of peanuts recently, and the protein found its way into her breast milk. Add in the fact that the pervert happened to have a deadly allergy to peanuts, and you can pretty much do the math.
** "Hi-Jacked Off" features a carjacker who tries to steal a truck, not knowing one of the occupants is a former female boxer. The woman punches him in the face, causing him to fall on a tire nozzle ass-first and explode from the resulting inflation of his intestines.
* MushroomSamba: Distorted senses lead to distorted judgment, such as diving into an empty pool, trying to screw a bear thinking it's a human in a fursuit, running into cacti, running into a big-screen TV, sticking your head out of a sunroof just as a bird swoops down and lands in your mouth, setting your friend (or yourself) on fire, staying in an overheated hot tub, mainlining glowstick fluid at a rave, microwaving a lava lamp, shocking yourself with a defibrillator, or going berserk in a grocery store and getting crushed by beer kegs.
* MyBelovedSmother: In ''Smother in Law'', one of these bitch-slaps her son's wife (who seriously considers stabbing the fat cow, but instead walks out of the kitchen) and nags her about food. Then she tries to get some frozen pizza from the fridge... but she's so brusque while pulling the wedged pizza box that the fridge falls on her.
* NaziGrandpa: An elderly fugitive Nazi dies in "Master E-Raced" by bumping his head on a refrigerator, causing a bullet to the head he took decades earlier to become dislodged and sever a major artery in his brain.
* NerdsAreVirgins: Implied with the easily-seduced nerd in "Contact Die", who's described as "sexually inexperienced".
* NeverMessWithGranny: A purse-snatcher in one story found this out [[CurbStompBattle the hard way]] after [[MuggingTheMonster trying to jack the purse of an old lady who happened to be a 30 year Tae Kwon Do practitioner]].
* NeverSmileAtACrocodile: The woman whose church leader encouraged her to wade into a nearby pond to meet "brother alligator". [[EatenAlive It didn't end well]].

** [[AvertedTrope Averted]] with the death of Harry Houdini, which gets the unusually high number of 14 due to his fame.
** Same for Jack Daniel's death (from sepsis after kicking his safe in a drunken rage after finally finding the perfect recipe for his whiskey), although he is called by his birth name Jasper.
** Another episode also gave us [[Series/JerseyShore Nicky "The Predicament"]] being ground up by a street sweeper.
** Remember the politician who keeled over after suffering a heart attack from bug bites containing viral fecal matter as a result of his repeated trips to Brazil to hook up with his mistress? Yeah, this guy is an {{Expy}} for South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who was shamed after he disappeared for days, only to turn up in Buenos Aires, where he was cheating on his wife. The difference between this story and RealLife is Sanford is still alive.
** "Belly'd Up" is loosely based on the death of Creator/IsadoraDuncan, who was strangled by her own long scarf.
** "Poker Face" is based on the death of William Kogut, who constructed a pipe bomb the same as in the show, only Kogut used the pipe bomb to kill himself, not in a plot to break out of prison.
** The mad hatter who died of mercury poisoning in "Hats All Folks!" looks like Creator/JohnnyDepp's character from Tim Burton's ''Film/AliceInWonderland2010''.
** "Dead-dy Dearest" is inspired by the death of actor Jon-Erik Hexum, who accidentally killed himself by firing a blank into his head.
** "Spyanide" is based on the death of UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler's wife, Eva Braun, who killed herself with a cyanide tablet just before Hitler shot himself in the head.
** A dogfighter named Vick is killed by a pit bull named Michael. Ron Perlman even says Michael and Vick with the 'and' being rather quickly spoken.

** "Miss-Ur Head": A criminal in early 20th century France is executed by the guillotine, with a doctor in attendance to his execution to study the effects of a freshly lopped-off head to prove that consciousness is maintained briefly after beheading, making the guillotine an inhumane form of capital punishment.

** In the episode featuring the death of a gym teacher who impaled himself in the eye with his own javelin, the students in his class take a picture of his corpse with a camera phone before running off. The story took place in 1993, well before the days of camera phones, and cell phones in general, being commonplace among teenagers and most of the general population.
** "Kill Basa" (about a guy who [[CompensatingForSomething ties a salami to his leg with surgical tubing]] for four hours) also has a camera phone showing up in 1996.
** The gun store incident (in which a petty thug accidentally sticks up a gun shop instead of a jewelry store and gets shot by the customers and clerks, who were all legally armed and acting in self-defense) takes place in 2001, yet there was a sign showing a Blu-ray logo, which would require the story to be set in mid-2006 at the earliest.
** In "Tali-Bombed", set in 2005, one of the terrorists says his favorite American celebrity is Music/MileyCyrus. Miley Cyrus wasn't famous until 2006 when ''Series/HannahMontana'' premiered on the Disney Channel.
** "Die-rect TV" is set in 2009, even though the ''1000 Ways To Die'' episode the couple was watching was "The End Is Weird", which didn't air until 2010.
** The lifeguard in "Muffed Dive" comments "I can't wait for the next Olympics...London, 2012, I'm so there!" True when the episode first aired, in 2011... but this segment takes place in 2003, two years before London was even awarded the 2012 Olympics in the first place!
* PrimaDonnaDirector: One of these gets killed by a remote-controlled airplane in "[[Film/NorthByNorthwest North By Northwasted]]".
* PsychoExGirlfriend: Ashley from "Smoke Stalked", who stalked her ex-boyfriend (who was now married and wanted nothing to do with Ashley) to the extreme. While the ex-boyfriend and his wife were on vacation, Ashley decided to break in by climbing through the chimney. She gets stuck and slowly dies of dehydration, starvation, and suffocation. When the couple return, they find Ashley's lifeless, desiccated body and freak.
* PsychopathicManchild: Benny, the victim from "Die-drant", is an immature asshole who likes pulling (often lethal) pranks on people for his own sick amusement.
* PunnyName: Generally the names of just about all of the deaths. Occasionally, some of the commentary leading up to the deaths.
* {{Pyromaniac}}: One of these gets himself killed in "Flame Retard-Ant". When he accidentally [[ManOnFire sets himself on fire]], he jumps into the water to put it out, but goes into shock due to the water's cold temperature and drowns. Unusually, the episode points out that in real life, [[RealityIsUnrealistic arsonists are rarely motivated by pyromania]].
* PyrrhicVictory: There are quite a number of people in this show who have won a competition, but in the process, lost their lives.
** The AlphaBitch hazing sorority pledge master in "Mudder Sucked". After being pulled into a mud wrestling pit by one of the pledges, the Alpha Bitch nearly beats the pledge into unconsciousness, having the other pledges pull her out. The Alpha Bitch was gloating over her victory, but she started to sink into the mud pit and die from suffocation. It turns out the pledges unknowingly built the mud wrestling pit on top of an underground sinkhole.
** The AlphaBitch in "Gooed Riddance". After beating out her friends in "Chubby Bunny" (the objective is to cram as many marshmallows in your mouth as you can while saying "Chubby Bunny"), the marshmallows melt in her mouth and formed a seal in her larynx, causing her to choke to death.
** A {{Jerkass}} horse jockey in "Die-arrhea". After being evicted from his apartment, he was forced to live in the horse stables. Normally, other horse jockeys would give a helping hand but refused to because of his history of being a bastard. He trains to win one last race as a "screw you" to the other jockeys by being bulimic and taking illegal Chinese laxatives to be lighter. He won the race, but then he dies from renal failure, potassium deficiency, and dehydration.
** A SpoiledBrat rich sorority pledge in "Who Fart-Dead". The sorority pledges had to compete to see who can stay in a boiling hot sauna the longest. The winner gets to skip "Hell Week". The rich pledge prepared by eating beans and broccoli, and drove all the other contestants out with her rampant flatulence. She had no time to celebrate her victory as she dropped dead from second-degree burns, hyperthermia, and dehydration.
** A teenager who accidentally swallowed a lit firecracker in a game of Chicken in "Chicken Boned". The narrator even discusses what the trope actually means.
* RagingStiffie: One of the effects of the venom of the Brazilian wandering spider (a.k.a. the banana spider). In "Erecto-phobia", a dude who gets bitten by it tries to use said stiffie to cheat on his girlfriend... then dies [[DeathBySex while having sex with the third girl of the day.]]
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Sexual predators tend to get especially horrible deaths.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Devin the amputee from "Eye Swallow".
* RhymesOnADime: If Ron Perlman isn't closing a death with a {{pun}} or two, expect him to finish with a quick poem. He even quotes from [[Literature/TheBible the Gospel of Matthew]] after two fake preachers die in a grain silo explosion.
* RuleOfCool: The show might not have the stones to admit it, but it positively subsists on this, considering the [[BasedOnAGreatBigLie dubious nature]] of some of the stories told.
** Carbon monoxide deaths. We started putting sulfur in the odorless gas a while ago (at least for house and car emissions) so that people would realize that they are in danger by the smell of rotten eggs.
** Absinthe isn't actually any worse than other types of alcohol. It was banned during the temperance movement because of false scares, propaganda, and misinformation spread about it which was finally made known in the 2000s. Granted this was acknowledged in the segment pointing out this propaganda was caused by the pesticides used on the ingredients contaminated the drinks.
** A couple of the stories were also disproved by ''Series/MythBusters'' (like the urban legend that peeing on an electrical fence will kill you) and ''Website/{{Snopes}}'' (the explosive breast implants).
* RunningGag: 412 has been used as the number of a death ''far'' too many times (7 as of July 2012) to be an oversight of the people who put the numbers on the deaths.
* RussianRoulette: A group of Viet Cong veterans plays and all of them live...until their celebration triggers an old landmine buried beneath the shack they were in.
* SassyBlackWoman: Chantal, the woman featured in "American Died-Ol".
* ScaryScorpions: A scam artist posing as a health inspector gets fatally stung by an Arizona bark scorpion in "Mastur-Bitten".
* ScaryStingingSwarm:
** A man shoots a hornet's nest with a paintball gun to impress his trailer trash wife, and gets stung multiple times by the enraged swarm of insects. The fact that he was allergic to hornet stings (and never knew it) was also a contributing factor in his death.
** "Crappy Ending", A man visiting a Thailand massage parlor gets attacked by a hive of Asian Giant Hornets that were living in the parlor's wall.
* ScoobyDooHoax: Deconstructed in "Myth Busted". A man in the Pacific Northwest isn't happy about a path near where he lives becoming a popular jogging trail, so he decides to scare off joggers by dressing as a bigfoot. But this attracts the attention of a "bigfoot believer" park ranger who, thinking he's the real deal, shoots him with a tranquilizer dart -- one that contains a chemical lethal to humans.
* SelfDamagingAttackBackfire: In "Cleane-Dead Solution" an abusive husband forces his wife to clean the house every day, after she demands a divorce he rushes to hit her but slips in the just-washed floor and land on the dishwasher, where his chest collides with a knife killing him.
* SeriesFauxnale: "Sor-Dead Affair" was intended to be the final episode on the series, as the last segment in the episode is Way to Die #1000 "Premature Endings", which features an old man who dies in a hospital bed of natural causes next to his adult daughter, after living a long, fulfilling life and always supporting his loved ones. The narrator goes on and talks about how the viewer should not act recklessly like the rest of the idiots on the show who got killed, and instead watch the show from their homes and try to die peacefully like the old man. Unfortunately, this episode was aired as the penultimate episode, and then the show got renewed for another season.
* SexyCoatFlashing: In "Lac-Toasted", a man does this to a trio of new mothers... not knowing they're members of an all-female fight club. While he survives the [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge beating]] they give him, he dies because during his "show", he drank breast milk laced with peanuts, which he was violently allergic to.
* ShockAndAwe:
** "Lesbocution": A woman who decides to go lesbian after a string of bad relationships with men steps in a puddle... with bare feet (she had taken off her high heels while walking home)... that has an electric wire touching it.
** "Oprah Winfried": A death row inmate who has been sentenced to life without parole tries to fix his TV while watching ''Oprah''. He just so happens to be sitting on his metal toilet when he touches the exposed wire of the TV plug.
** "Wel-Dead": An adrenaline junkie hooks himself up to a welding machine to get a rush. He cranks it up to its highest point when his girlfriend backs off. No points for what happens to him next.
** "Deadliest Catch": An easily-agitated electrician fishes while using electric wire. Unfortunately, he touches the metal bottom of the boat and gets fried.
** "Heart On": (see ADateWithRosiePalms above)
** "Washed and Fried": Five strippers pose as college cheerleaders doing charity car washes. While washing the van of a perverted widower, none of the women notice that the buffer they're using has a frayed wire that's dangerously close to a puddle. All five of them get shocked and drop dead.
** "Chess Pain": A Soviet chess master playing against a supercomputer gets electrocuted when he touches a magnetic chess piece (which was on a chessboard that was not well-grounded) with his sweaty hand.
** "Bitch Zapped": A HenpeckedHusband mows the lawn for his harpy of a wife, who keeps accusing him of doing a horrible job. Fed up with the way he's doing it, she shows him the right way, unaware that she pushed the mower on top of the man's arc welder cord and ends up fried. The husband then sips her drink and says, "There ''is'' a God!"
** "Dill D'Oh": A JerkAss nursing home manager goes off on one of the residents, a former science teacher who was wrongfully put in a retirement home at the hands of his greedy children, for making a pickle lamp. One should never grab a pickle lamp when it is lit.
** "Cruci-Fried": A phony preacher was getting ready for another service to con people out of money. While preparing, he heard a hum from the speakers and cut off the grounding prong from the plug. After stepping into the baptismal pool, he got electrocuted after picking up the ungrounded microphone.
** "Who Ded?": Two female thieves posing as Hurricane Katrina relief workers in New Orleans get electrocuted by a severed power line under the water [[KickTheDog while attempting to rob a church.]]
** "Heart Beat Down": A psychopath is subjected to electro-shock therapy. When he tries to make an escape later, he dies of a heart attack due to the shocks he was administered causing severe arrhythmia.
** "Die-Brator": A PsychoLesbian StrawFeminist gets a taser that looks like a vibrator (A Pocket Rocket-style one, not one of many that's shaped like a penis or looks like a knock-off of the Hitachi Magic Wand) from her girlfriend. She puts it in and electrocutes herself to death.
** "Cardiac A-Breast": An AttentionWhore who decided to wear a metal bra to a party gets struck by lightning that was drawn to it.
* ShockAndSwitchEnding: Subverted. The show has a segment where the victim is a man whose home gets broken into and the thief throws him off the balcony. Then we see the usual recap and the screen that numbers and names the death: "Homie Invasion"... then a record scratch happens and the narrator quips "Wait, it cannot end like this!". Turns out the man suffered from Lazarus Syndrome and raised up after a moment. He wandered back into his house and, when the thief sees him alive again, he gets so scared he [[LaserGuidedKarma ends up falling over the same railing]]. The screen is shown again, though now the death is renamed "Homie's Dead".
* ShoutOut:
** The hitman in "Kill Bill and Billie" bears a strong resemblance to [[Franchise/{{Hitman}} Agent 47]].
** The intro card to the segment "Caved In" says it took place in Encino, California, [[Film/EncinoMan which references a movie that also starred a caveman]].
** The literal MadHatter who died of mercury poisoning in "Hats All Folks!" looks like Creator/JohnnyDepp's character from Creator/TimBurton's ''Film/AliceInWonderland2010''.

** "Tali-Bombed": The story of the two terrorists who set up a GPS-timed bomb and blew up when they forgot that the timer they used resets itself for Daylight Saving Time.
** "Bibli-Killed": Two con artists posing as Bible salesmen take shelter inside a grain silo in order to hide from a shotgun-wielding farmer's wife who overhears them having sex with her granddaughter -- and then blows up when one of them lights a flame that reacts with the grain dust.
** "Butt F***ed": A smoker previously lit on fire from falling asleep with a cigarette in his mouth ends up in the hospital, is wrapped in flammable ointment and bandages, and ends when he sets himself on fire again and has his oxygen tank explode.

** "Poker Face": A death row inmate tries to make a pipe bomb using playing cards, which, in the '30s, were coated in nitrocellulose, a highly volatile substance when mixed with hot water. He heats the bomb, but when it doesn't explode, picks it up to examine it, in the process completing the nitrocellulose/hot water combination and making it explode in his face.

** "Doggie Styled": A pair of drunk redneck hunters throw a stick of dynamite to flush out ducks, only for their golden retriever (who is telling the story through his eyes) to return it to them. You can almost hear the ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' theme playing.
** "Withdrawn": A bank robber constructs an explosive collar to make a bank teller think he's being coerced into doing the real bad guys' dirty work. When said teller makes her exit and uses an electronic key to unlock her door, she accidentally sets off the bomb.
** "Chicken Boned": A group of extremely bored teenagers plays games of chicken, one of which being who can stand having a lit stick of homemade explosives in their mouth the longest. One guy spits his out. The other, cheering for his own victory, accidentally swallows his explosive, which then blows out his trachea.
** "As-Capped": A geriatric and quite senile old music producer threatens his band with a gun. While going off on a rant, he accidentally shoots his oxygen tank. It does not end well for him.
* StuffyOldSongsAboutTheButtocks: "Caulk Blocked" features a rapper whose discography is full of these. One woman, knowing how much he loves the female posterior, goes to a BackAlleyDoctor to get her butt enlarged. She manages to get his attention with her new bottom, but she dies of an embolism shortly after thanks to the quack plastic surgeon accidentally injecting some of the caulk into her bloodstream.
* SubParSupremacist: "Fire in the Hole" is about two neo-Nazis, one of whom is an idiot who can't stop mangling the gang's slogans.
* SuperWindowJump: The lawyer who jumps through the window of his building's 40[[superscript:th]] floor to prove said windows are unbreakable. It didn't work because his watch hit the window. It does bear mentioning, though, that he'd [[TemptingFate done it multiple times before]] to [[DudeNotFunny freak out new hires]].
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Often a factor in many of the deaths.
** The show frequently takes stock slapstick jokes like falling down a manhole or running into a wall painted like a tunnel and shows that the injuries would realistically seriously injure or even kill someone.
** "Mile Die Club": An abusive husband tries to follow his fleeing wife by sneaking into the cargo bay of the plane she's taking to get away from him. But he fails to realize that there's a very good reason for the "No Live Animals" sign and dies from hypothermia mid-flight.
** "Myth Busted": Sedatives are not "one size fits all". A tranquilizer designed for a large animal like a bear can very easily kill a human. One misanthrope who decides to scare off joggers by dressing up as a bigfoot learns this the hard way when he's shot with a tranquilizer dart by a park ranger.
** "Gasketballed" tells the story of two teens who decide it's a good idea to play in a giant helium-filled basketball. At first, they have fun listening to their voices become high-pitched and squeaky... but then they find out the hard way that helium is ''not'' oxygen, and they start suffocating.
** "Nite Capped": A New Year's Eve party fires guns in the air to celebrate. One of the bullets eventually falls and kills a random man. After all, what goes up must come down. This is also why firing a gun in the air is illegal.
** "Jack N' Croaked" and "Vike-O-Done" has the victims getting bloody wounds (the victim of the former gets a nasty gash on his toe trying to kick open a safe, and the victim of the latter accidentally hit his thigh on the mouth of his decapitated foe). Since those deaths took place back when antibiotics weren't invented, the wound easily gets infected and the victims die of sepsis.
** Any death involving electrocution: HarmlessElectrocution is ''averted''. Getting electrocuted ''will'' kill someone because it'll cause their heart to stop.
** "Greased Is the Word": A robber plans to rob a jewelry store using a pantyhose mask, only to instead walk into and hold up a ''gun'' store. As it turns out, he couldn't see which store he walked into because the pantyhose mask was blocking his vision.
** "Dead-dy Dearest": An OverprotectiveDad scares his daughter's boyfriend by firing a blank revolver, then attempts to shoot himself in the head to prove that the gun doesn't have real bullets in it. The guy died from the pressure of the blast traveling down the barrel of the revolver and cracking him in the temple. Also, the narrator mentions at the end that the victim's daughter will have to go to therapy after seeing her father accidentally kill himself. Even if they were abusive, watching a family member die right in front of your eyes ''will'' traumatize you.
** "Sumowed": The victim manages to survive rolling down a cliff, only to get killed by a passing car. Even though the sumo suit he was wearing prevented him from getting any severe injuries while rolling down the cliff, getting hit by a car ''will'' get you injured and/or killed, no matter what you're wearing.
** "Shafted": An office manager gets trapped in an elevator and has her co-workers pull the doors open so she can climb out, but the elevator's hydraulic brakes give out and she ends up bisected. This is exactly why you should simply wait for help to come when you're in a stuck elevator.
** "Love Bugged": A French man with an interest in lizards and bugs decides to try and build an immunity to black widow spider venom by letting one bite him. He fails to realize that building up an immunity to something that can quickly kill you is impossible, and he grows weaker until he dies from a heart attack.
** "Blood Bath & Beyond": A pervy building manager drills holes in his apartment in order to spy on all the beautiful female tenants. In particular, he drills a bunch of holes in the ceiling of the apartment above him so he can spy on a female tenant as she's about to take a bath. But eventually, while he peeping in the bath, the bathtub suddenly comes crashing down on him. With all those holes drilled into the ceiling along with water damage, it was bound to weaken and eventually give way sooner or later.

** "Info-Pain-Ment": A fitness trainer hawks a new bamboo-built home gym on TV. When he breaks a barbell and storms off in frustration, the cameraman plays with the equipment and mocks the trainer. When the trainer catches his cameraman mocking him, a piece breaks off and impales the trainer through the ear and brain. The trainer failed to realize that bamboo is actually a type of ''grass'', and it's a lot more fragile than it looks.
** Remember those NSFW animations that show females [[{{Squick}} having sexual intercourse with horses]]? Well, "Dead Me Stallion" shows what would happen if it was attempted in real life. Namely, the female's uterus gets damaged by the horse's long... ''member'', causing internal bleeding and death from exsanguination.
** "Phlegm Phatale": An Internet couple agrees to meet in the real world. The man, a germophobe, uses a neti pot to cleanse his sinuses beforehand. However, because he either refused to use it or didn't have access to a source of distilled water, he decided to use tap water. Unfortunately, the bathroom sink is ''not'' a source of distilled water, and he ends up with a parasite that destroys his brain because he used contaminated water to clean his sinuses.
** "Cream-ated": A man who was abused as a child by his deranged uncle wearing a cow costume develops a fetish for drinking milk straight from a cow's udder. Subverted in that instead of dying of salmonella poisoning from the unpasturized milk, he dies when the cow kicks his head in and causes fatal brain damage.
** "Sh*t Faced": An alcoholic who can't ingest alcohol due to a recent throat operation persuades his wife to feed it to him through an enema bag. Because the alcohol wasn't ingested through the mouth, it bypasses his stomach lining and liver and goes straight into his bloodstream, bringing his BAC to a whopping 0.57 (0.4 is the usual threshold for coma/death), and later killing him from alcohol poisoning.
** "Tapped Out": Two wannabe wrestlers go at each other with fluorescent light bulbs and a weed whacker, only for the one who was using fluorescent light bulbs to drop dead, because the lights he was using contained mercury vapor, which he inhaled when the lights were broken on his chest and entered his bloodstream through the staple wounds on his chest.
*** Also, the other wrestler gets his chest torn open by a weed whacker, but actually survives. In reality, a weed whacker will leave cuts and bruises if used on a person, but as painful as it is, it normally doesn't mean instant death.
** "Scarf-Faced": A terrorist starved himself to escape his prison cell. When he meets up with his fellow terrorists, he gorges himself on food, only to drop dead seconds later. As it turns out, because he starved himself for so long, by stuffing his face with food, he ended up risking something called "refeeding syndrome".
** "Suck Her Punched": A rapist attempts to rape a cross-dressing male boxer. The boxer instead punches him in self-defense. This results in the rapist dying almost instantly as the crossdresser is a strong boxer who punched a normal man in the head, resulting in fatal brain damage.
* SwallowedWhole: In "Tenta-killed", a Korean-American man tries doing this to an octopus to prove a point to his daughter's boyfriend, but it refuses to go down and ends up choking him to death.

Jessica tries to evade him by going off-road, but she hits a rock and gets thrown off the mower which turns and comes back for Jessica, slicing off her face, [[{{Fingore}} cutting off some of her fingers]], and making cuts all over her entire body.
* TheTease: One of these tries to turn two brothers against each other and ends up getting killed by flying gravel in "Pebble Bitched".
* TemptingFate: Some deaths are the result of this. For example, the OverprotectiveDad in "Dead-dy Dearest" demonstrates that his blank-loaded gun is harmless by putting it to his head and pulling the trigger. He gets killed by the pressure from the gun.

* TisOnlyABulletInTheBrain: Deconstructed in "Master E-raced". In the last days of UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, an SS officer is shot in the head by an American soldier but survives. However, the bullet was lodged next to a major artery, so when he bumps his head on his refrigerator decades later, he dislodged the bullet and severed the artery.
* ToiletHumour: Quite a lot, usually involving farts.
* TongueTrauma: In "Tongue Died", a scavenger who steals metal from foreclosed houses bites off his tongue when he falls into an open manhole trying to escape from a cop. To add insult to injury, it was the manhole whose cover [[TooDumbToLive he stole previously]].

** Having a friend perform amateur liposuction on you is probably nowhere near a good idea.
** So is lighting a cigarette after you spent hours spraying hairspray on your bouffant to keep it perfect. Even dumber when you consider the fact that she didn't think to stop, drop, and roll nor did her boyfriend think to use his leather jacket to smother the flames.
** One episode featured one death that showed several ways a man could die in one segment. In this case, a redneck living in the woods was carrying a meat hook on a chain. He could have electrocuted himself by throwing it on a power line in an attempt to get electricity for his TV ([[HypocriticalHumor even though he thought electricity was a form of government mind control, the guy couldn't live without watching]] [[Radio/GlennBeck "The Glenn Beck Show"]]), or hanged himself trying to lift an elk carcass, but ends up [[EpicFail tripping in a ditch and impaling his throat on the hook]].
** The two deaths of "Two Stoopid" is emphasized on this trope.
*** Bungee jumping from a cherry-picker... without properly measuring the cord first.

** A bank robber builds a real neck bomb and straps it around his own neck. It explodes when a teller's keyless remote emits just the right frequency to trigger it.
** Two teenage guys hear about rock legend Music/OzzyOsbourne snorting ants. So they try to do the same thing with fire ants. Two things these guys didn't learn: One is that Ozzy was obviously smart enough not to snort ''fire ants'', and two is that just because you idolize a rock legend doesn't mean it's a good idea to emulate him.
** A crane operator addicted to cocaine tries to cheat a drug test by injecting himself with blood that matches his type, obtained by his girlfriend. If only he would've listened to her when she told him to keep the blood warm instead of storing it in the refrigerator.
** A guy hacks his own pacemaker to manually control his heart rate. This leaves it vulnerable to other wireless devices, such as the wireless controller his next-door neighbor's bratty son is using to play his game. You can see where this is going.
** Shooting at a hornet's nest with a paintball gun; pretty dumb. Not running when it falls out of the tree ''right in front of you''? Darwin Award Winner!
** Drinking gasoline in replacement for booze? Dumbass idea. Puking it right into the open fire? You're just asking for death in this case.
** The guy who peed on an electric wire as a dare. Even one of the other guys warns him not to beforehand. And the guy with a urine fetish who had a girl pee on him... in bed... which had an electric blanket which was on.
** Playing chicken with a stick of lit homemade explosives in your mouth. One guy lived through that, and it was not the one who wound up swallowing his firecracker.
** Sticking a can of unused whipped cream up your ass and releasing the compressed gas inside you is not a good idea. A tomboyish girl found this out the hard way.
** You have to have fallen asleep in biology class to think swallowing a tapeworm is the best idea to lose weight.
** It takes a special kind of dumbass to inject himself with glow-in-the-dark fluid from a glow stick.
** Even if your neighbor IS super-hot, don't swing a chainsaw around to try and impress her, ESPECIALLY if it's on.
* ToThePain: Once a segment gets to the actual dying part, medical experts will pop in to explain how the death will happen and what the body experiences and what the person will feel while dying if at all, all the while the segment is going in the background with CGI displays of the human body subjected to the injury(ies) of the segment.
* ToadLicking: Two amateur adventurists who go on a quest to find the Colorado River Toad to experience the ultimate high unfortunately end up licking a Poison Arrow Frog.
* TrampledUnderfoot: Happens to a biker during the mayhem he himself caused (by ripping off a female dancer's top) in "Lady and the Trampled" and a jealous cheerleader captain who "accidentally" let the new girl on the team fall (only for the bitchy cheerleader to get run down by the entire football team as they charge out onto the field) in "Pam-Caked!"

* TreadmillTrauma: "Treadkill" involves a perverted treadmill runner who spies on his neighbour while running. He winds up [[DistractedByTheSexy getting too distracted by the fanservice]] that he trips and gets himself hung by his tracksuit's lace which gets caught in the machine.
* TurbineBlender: "Double-O-Severed" features a corporate spy who is forced to bring his incompetent nephew as a lookout while he plants a bug in a ventilation shaft. He uses a pipe to jam the fan outside the vent, but his nephew accidentally dislodges it and the spy gets sucked in, getting his legs shredded and promptly bleeding out.
* TyphoidMary: Mary Mallon (the real name of the TropeNamer) appears in the story "Mary-Nated" in which she inadvertently kills a rich couple by infecting them with typhoid fever with the contaminated food she cooked.

* UnsettlingGenderReveal: If you want to find a woman to rape, then the outside of a gym where boxers train is not a good idea. ** A band of old musicians watches their senile ex-producer explode after accidentally shooting his oxygen tank. Following, they just keep playing the song they were singing before the incident.
** A nagging wife kills herself while showing her HenpeckedHusband the right way to mow a lawn. He calmly takes a drink from her martini and remarks "There is a God."

** In "Car Jacked", a car thief tried to steal a rich man's muscle car and got into his garage by descending from the ceiling. Then his leg got tangled in the rope and he ended up hanging ''upside down'' for several hours, which killed him in the end.
** In "Boobie-cide", a stripper with GINORMOUS GagBoobs uses a reclining bed to hang upside down and relieve her backache. Thing is, once she does it while drugged ''and'' drunk, and her boobs smother her to death while she's upside down.
** In "Xmas-turbator", a man decorates his house with an unreasonable amount of Christmas decorations to irritate his neighbors (made worse by the fact that he's doing this in early November). He falls off the roof and is caught by a rope he was using. The combination of the increased blood pressure in the brain and banging his head on the side of the house causes internal bleeding and death.
* UrbanLegends:
** ''Series/MythBusters'' actually [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVsXBnV0guw debunked]] the GagBoobs death twice. This leads to many of the other less well-known deaths and situations becoming suspect on whether they're possible or actually happened. On the other hand, it's explicitly stated in that "death" that the implants were water balloons made by a quack, not the real deal. [=MythBusters=] de-bunked the myth using real breast implants, but never bothered to test fake ones.
** They also managed to bust the death involving whizzing on the electric fence, which really doesn't help the show's credibility.
** Regarding the story of "Mudder Sucked" (about the sorority girl who drowns in a sinkhole after beating a pledge in a mud wrestling contest), they also busted the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MythBusters_(2004_season)#Episode_19_.E2.80.93_.22Killer_Quicksand.22 quicksand myth.]]

They both got electrocuted.
* VeryLooselyBasedOnATrueStory: Most of the deaths that actually did happen tend to be recreated in very exaggerated and prurient ways, often because the victims of the actual deaths were completely innocent (i.e., the Mel Gibson-esque movie star who got his internal organs sucked out of his anus when he sat on a hot tub drain while forcing his girlfriend into giving him oral sex happened to a six-year-old girl named Abigail Taylor, but for ethical, moral, and legal reasons, they made it happen to a {{Jerkass}} adult who deserved to be punished). Just goes to show you that EvenEvilHasStandards. Averted with "Sh*t Faced": that was, almost word-for-word, based on the death of Michael Warner, a man from Lake Jackson, Texas, who died of alcohol poisoning due to an [[{{Squick}} alcoholic enema]].
* VillainSong: In "Grilled", a Chinese sweatshop owner does a gangster rap number about how horrible a boss he is.
* VolcanicVeins: one of the stories is about a drug dealer who tripped out at a rave and injected glow stick fluid into his veins. He had this effect for several minutes and became the center of attention... [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome and then he dropped dead]].

When Marcie gets frustrated because Ron is not mowing the lawn "properly," she decides to show him "how to mow the lawn," by [[IdiotBall not paying attention where she's going and runs over]] [[HighVoltageDeath the cord of Ron's ARC welder, sending 200 amps into her body, causing death by electrocution]].
** Lucy to Seth in "Orspasm". Seth intentionally made her orgasm for his own sadistic, perverted pleasure despite knowing the pain it put her through, and he ends up dying when he pokes Lucy with a massager while on the stairs, causing her to accidentally knock him down, breaking his bones and neck.
** Bill and his wife, Billie in "Kill Bill & Billie". The segment starts off as yelling about how they hate each other. Bill calls a hitman against Billie, if she's seeing another man, then kill them both. However, [[TheHypocrite he's not faithful himself as he calls three hookers per week]] and this week, he calls a fourth hooker who turns out to be Billie. As they start yelling like at the beginning, the hitman comes and kills them both before they can even notice.
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: In "Chairway to Heaven", a man who ditched his family to hang out with his buddy in their guy pad gets a pilot seat to tie the whole room together. While sitting on it, he curiously pulls the big, red-and-green lever on the bottom, which ejects him into his own ceiling.

* WheresTheKaboom: In "Poker Face", a hitman in prison makes an improvised bomb to blow a hole in the wall that he could use to escape. * WholesomeCrossdresser: In "Suck Her Punched", a rapist stalking the area around a gym accidentally targets one of these... [[FromBadToWorse who happens to be a boxer]].

He finally stumbles backward and impales the back of his skull on a high-pressure water nozzle... with messy results.
** "Jaw Boned": (see StuffBlowingUp above)
** "Die-drant": An immature prankster blinds a driver with a mirror, causing the car to hit a fire hydrant. The hydrant flies off... and ''through'' the man's head, pasting what little brain he had over the wall of his house.
** "Withdrawn": A bank robber (obviously based on Brian Wells) wears a C4 bomb collar around his neck to convince the tellers and cops that he was being forced to commit the heist. When one freaked-out teller deactivates her car alarm to get away from the madness, she unknowingly activates the collar's remote blast cap (which was on the same frequency as her alarm remote), causing it to explode and take the robber's head clean off. Well, not exactly clean, but you get the picture...

* ActOfTrueLove: "Ichiboned" has themes of this; a newlywed Japanese couple are deeply in love and want to "connsumate" their relationship, but both of them are so repressed that they almost never have the chance. When they finally go for it, they end up [[DeathBySex going out together in simultaneous heart attacks]] due to both of their hearts being unused to orgasm. It says at lot that, in a show based around making fun of people who [[TooDumbToLive die in stupid ways]], the narrator has nothing but respect for the couple and doesn't mock them at all, to the point of declaring their deaths to be the #1 ("''[[BilingualBonus Ichiban]]''") on the ''1000 Ways to Die'' list.
* AgonizingStomachWound: Discussed. When a man is put on a unsecured gurney by negligent EMT workers, rolls down a hill, and is impaled on a sign, the doctor notes that stomach wounds actually kill quickly as there is a large artery parallel to the spine. This of course ignores the fact that the aforementioned artery might not get slashed if the wound is caused by something much smaller than the sign.

** In "Boris Bititoff", a group of Russian soldiers get drunk on vodka while patrolling through the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. When one of the soldiers tries to have sexual intercourse with a rabid raccoon because his fellow soldiers struck him down, the raccoon bites his penis clean off. At which point he bled to death from his groin.
** "Poi Vey" has a Jewish Rabbi getting drunk at a luau in Hawaii after failing to hit on one of the hula girls, so he tries to dance the hula himself (in a drunken stupor) to win her heart, only to set himself on fire when he teeters towards a tiki torch, and burn to death, especially with his flammably high blood alcohol content.

* AlcoholIsGasoline: Inverted. A fugitive tries to get drunk by drinking the gasoline from his motorcycle, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome only to throw up]] on his campfire and burn himself to death.

** "Bitch Zapped" has a shrewish woman nags at her husband about mowing the lawn until she decides to do it. Eventually, she runs over her husband's arc welder cord, electrocuting herself. The man's response is saying "there is a God," and sipping some of his wife's martini.
** "Boys 2 Dead" has a washed-up boy band performs for an unenthusiastic crowd at a bar. The {{narcissist}}ic leader attempts to crowd surf only to break his neck on the ground when no one catches him. One {{beat}} later, the band continues their act.

* ArtisticLicense: The episode where the virgin at the brothel is literally grabbed and pulled in to the dominatrix's dungeon. Obviously, she forgot to set a safeword (or, given he was gagged, a safe gesture), but sex workers, like any other workaday stiff, tend to have an aversion to soliciting extra work for themselves. In addition, sex workers know full well the boundaries around active & enthusiastic consent, as they rely on them too for protection in their jobs.

** "Mercury in Uranus": The one about the hospital patient (who has been in the hospital numerous times for sticking objects up his butthole -- [[TruthInTelevision a common sight in most hospitals]]) who killed himself when he shoved nine glass thermometers up his butt -- all of which broke, gave him mercury poisoning, and cut up his large intestine.

** "Colon-Gross-Opy": A tomboy competes with her male roommates in gross-out contests. She tries to one-up them in a farting contest by sticking a can of whipped cream in her bum to produce gas. Unfortunately, she dies from massive hemorrhaging since the gas in the can causes internal necrosis and hemorrhaging.
** "Critter in the S***ter aka Ferret in the Hole": A ferret legger (someone who tries to see how long he can hold ferrets in his pants[[note]]Meaning that that joke on ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' about a law against putting squirrels in your pants for the purposes of gambling is real to some extent[[/note]]) cheats [[KickTheDog by starving his ferrets to make them more calm, so they will not squirm or crawl out]]. This works until one of the poor ferrets goes up his bum and gnaws at his haemorrhoid, which bursts open, causing the man to bleed to death.

** The show lampshades this trope with the aptly named "Another Up The Butt Story". In it, a lecherous groom-to-be is thrown a bachelor party. He attempts to have sex with the bachelorette in the bathroom, and the struggle caused him to accidentally flush the toilet. Said toilet had a bunch of water and air pressure building up from repair work, and a huge jet of water knocked him on his ass and conveniently onto a shard of broken toilet, causing him to bleed out and die.
* AssholeVictim: Used rather deliberately. A vast majority of the victims in the stories are assholes, but it's most likely due to the show runners changing details of the real story so that the victims' deaths seem deserved. Seeing a bunch of gruesome/weird deaths of this nature would be depressing if the victims were just regular people.
* BabyDontGotBack: One story has a woman hiring a doctor to make her butt bigger to attract more men using silicone injections. Said doctor however, is a complete fraud, and instead of using actual silicone, injects ''bathroom caulk'' into her. She eventually dies because some of the caulk was injected directly into her bloodstream, causing massive blood clots to form, almost completely cutting off blood flow to her whole body.

** "Easy Slider": Two people sneak into a neighbor's pool, which is under construction. After swimming dangerously close to submerged power cords and the man shooting a nailgun at his girlfriend's beer can, he decides to make a Slip-N-Slide using a tarp. Of course, neither of them notices the nail sticking through the tarp, which disembowels him.

** "Cult Evaded": An orphaned Goth girl living with a Bible-thumping religious couple is subjected to an exorcism, as they fear her tattoos, piercings, and Goth boyfriend are signs that she is possessed by Satan himself. At first, you think they and their lunatic friends are going to end up killing her in the process of "driving away the Devil," but in the end, they all die from breathing the carbon monoxide fumes [[TooDumbToLive from the coal and incense they were burning in a closed tent]]. Ironically, the girl had the fortune of being in a layer of fresh air near the ground. She managed to escape, not caring that her foster parents are dead.

** "Cast Offed": A redneck ends up breaking his arm while cutting wood. Not one to spend his welfare money on something useful like a hospital visit, he makes his own cast. He uses a power saw to cut the cast off some time later and manages not to cut his arm open and bleed out in spectacular fashion. He still dies, though, because his improperly-set bone caused bone marrow to seep into his bloodstream and give him an embolism.

** "Tube Snaked": A groupie bitch kicks out her latest boyfriend (who was passed up for a record deal) in such a hurry that he leaves his pet boa constrictor behind. The snake nearly chokes the woman to death but she tosses it off at the last minute. Later, the snake crawls up her house's exhaust pipe and blocks the air flow when the woman turns on the heater, causing carbon monoxide to back up in her house and suffocate her. Of course, she doesn't know she was dying because (a) carbon monoxide is odorless, and (b) she was drunk and thought the carbon monoxide suffocation was just her whacked out on alcohol.
** "Lawn of the Dead": A group of stoners and cokeheads from the 1970s have a barbecue. One guy overuses lighter fluid on his barbecue, but doesn't burn to death. There's also a lot of drug abuse (cocaine, alcohol, and marijuana), a woman who drinks booze while pregnant, and a woman who sun bathes, despite the carcinogenic effects of the sun's UV rays, and still no one bites it. So, who dies in this segment? A guy playing lawn darts. He throws one in the air, and gets distracted by a woman flashing her breasts at him long enough not to notice that the dart he threw in the air came back down and pierced him through his skull.
** "Tapped Out": Two wannabe pro wrestlers practice crazy wrestling moves in their backyard. Among other things, this includes staple guns, fluorescent lights, and weed whackers being used to inflict pain on the other. One might expect the second wrestler to die from having his chest sliced with a weed whacker. Turns out the man who tried to slice his partner with the weed whacker dies because he was beaten with fluorescent lights, which contain mercury vapor that entered the first man's body through his nose and through the staple wounds on his chest.

** Shown in retrospect in "She-Manned": a female body-builder/fetish actress who likes to sexually humiliate wussy men nearly drowns in her bathtub after drinking a mixture of wine and painkillers. She could have drowned right there and then, but, instead, she dry-drowned some time later while crushing a watermelon with her thighs for her best customer.

** "Suck-Her Punched" is another triumphant example, with the one who doesn't die being the main focus of the story. A boxer dresses like a woman after a rigorous workout to cool down, and walks to the alley at the back. A rapist spots the boxer, and you'd think he'd kill him after [[UnsettlingGenderReveal finding out he's not a woman]]. That's not what happens. After [[BerserkButton being called a lady]], the boxer kills the rapist with one punch to the temple.

** "Die Jump": A manipulative, amateur actress auditions for a local sports commercial by performing a high jump. She nails it, but ends up missing the mat and falling on the hard ground. She gets up, allegedly fine -- in reality, her spinal cord was fractured, but not quite broken -- at least not until a track runner plows into her, knocking her down and finishing the job.

** In "Tunnel Vision," two cheesesteak vendors at a Philly street art festival get into a war over customers. This culminates in the first vendor using a Molotov cocktail against his rival, with which he accidentally sets his own arm on fire after tossing. Sounds like a typical "[[ManOnFire man burns to death]]" story, right? Not really. Much like in a ''WesternAnimation/WileECoyoteAndTheRoadRunner'' cartoon, the man runs screaming into a tunnel that's actually painted on a wall with some impressive and realistic 3D art. [[{{Deconstruction}} Unlike the Looney Tunes cartoons]], the vendor dies from a skull fracture after hitting the painted wall.

** In "Cop Out," a DirtyCop sent to babysit some juvenile delinquents working community service by painting over graffiti inhales some paint thinner. Yes, the paint thinner could have done extensive brain damage on him, but that's not what happens. What happens is that the crooked cop flies into a thinner-induced rage and threatens to kill the delinquents (they, however, don't get killed), but drops his gun. Just as the cop picks it up, the gun goes off and splatters his brains all over the wall.

** In "Heim-Licked," an aggressive weight-loss boot camp manager meets his new overweight student. Not legally allowed to kick her out (as she could very easily sue him for discrimination), he decides to humiliate her instead. When she quits the course out of frustration, her secret stash of snack cakes falls out and the boot camp manager humiliates her even further by taking one of her snack cakes and eating it while mocking her with his mouth full. Not surprisingly, he chokes on the snack cake. However, he dies when he attempts to perform the Heimlich maneuver on himself using a yoga ball, bounces off it, and lands mouth first on a sprinkler, breaking his C2 and C3 vertebrae.
** "Lac-Tosted": A trenchcoat-clad flasher named Gordon exposes himself to three moms (who are actually members of a local fight club called "M.I.L.F" -- "Moms I'd Like to Fight") out on a walk with their babies, who proceed to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat the crap out of him]]. The beating left him bloody, but not dead, until he keeled over immediately after getting back up. What killed him was his drinking of the moms' bottles of breast milk, which had traces of proteins from peanuts, and the flasher learned too late that he was deathly allergic to them.

* BirdPoopGag: In "S***-Dead", a man named Larry shoos off a sparrow hawk sitting in his lawn. After successfully ridding himself of it, the hawk drops a load on Larry's face, right in his mouth. He dies of Salmonellosis afterward.
* BittersweetEnding: "Ichiboned": a Japanese couple, married seven years, have never had sex as they are too repressed. One night, the husband brings home a bottle of plum wine, split it, and finally make love...only to die from simultaneous heart attacks, as their bodies weren't used to the effects of an orgasm (especially one that comes from years of repressing any and all sexual urges and desires). Even the narrator admits it's a better way to go than most of the alternatives, and it's rated the #1 death in the show.
** "Premature Endings," at the other end of the list (#1000), also qualifies. After walking through an emergency room full of people who have suffered bizarre (and presumably fatal) injuries due to their own stupidity, a woman goes to her elderly father's hospital room to visit him one last time before he dies peacefully of natural causes. The narrator comments that the show is like an instruction manual: you can do something dumb and end up as one of its stories, or you can live a sensible life and just watch it. One can argue that this one goes all the way to EarnYourHappyEnding: all humans eventually ''die'', but the man who died in this one had lived a decent life, was loved by his family and friends, and avoided [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy drunken stupidity]], [[AssholeVictim the business end of]] [[KarmicDeath karma's sword]], and [[TooDumbToLive all the other pitfalls]] [[HoistByHisOwnPetard common to]] [[EpicFail this show's]] [[UndignifiedDeath cases]]. For that, he got to die a peaceful death with his beloved daughter at his side instead of being, say, [[StuffBlowingUp caught in an explosion]] or [[GaiasVengeance mauled by wild animals]] or [[AssShove torn a new asshole]]. And for a mortal race, can there be a happier ending than a natural death surrounded by loved ones?
** "Radium Girls" had many 1920s female watch workers die of radiation poisoning after their employer essentially required them to ingest the radium paint they used (they were painting glow-in-the-dark radium compounds onto watch hands and faces, a task which requires very fine-pointed brushes, and were advised by management to re-point the bristles with their lips when necessary). This resulted in the "Radium Girls" lawsuit, which produced safer working conditions in watch-painting factories, but didn't do much to help those who had already succumbed to cancers of the face and jaw.

* ChiliConCarnage: In "Chili Today, Dead Tomorrow", a dumb tourist tries to stomach a ghost pepper at a Native American Trading Post, but couldn't handle the heat. He accidently then gulps down a whole jar of rattlesnake venom after mistaking it for water. He soon died from the poisonous venom.

** The health-nut who unknowingly drank contaminated health juice in courtesy of her landowner in "Blend-Dead". This happened over a few weeks. It didn't occur to her that her "immortality cocktail" didn't work and she had plenty of time to call the doctor?

* CurrencyCuisine: One story involves a Frenchman suffering from a condition that gives him an addiction to eating inedible objects, with his favorite being coins. When he can no longer obtain any more, he starts eating things like thumbtacks and nails, eventually dying from his stomach being cut open by all of it.

** "Unintented": A woman masturbating in a tent after ditching her boyfriend who couldn't satisfy her gets trapped in a freak windstorm and ends up dead when the tent slammed onto the roof of a shed.

** "Rocky Roadkill": A drug dealer disguises his operation by running it out of an ice cream truck, complete with freezer and decoy ice cream. All is well until one of his amphetamine-addict customers decides to rob him at gunpoint. The dealer jumps into the driver's seat and puts the pedal to the metal, successfully evading the gun-toting tweaker -- but the refrigerant tank in the freezer is ruptured during the escape. The van fills with freon, suffocating him and the man blacks out and hits a tree.

** "Death of Sum Young Guy": A [[FatBastard glutton]] eats at so many all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets and nearly chokes. Thankfully, somebody saved him with the Heimlich maneuver. However, shortly after, he dies of a massive heart attack caused by the high content of [=MSG=] built up in his body. Although this is very much a case of ArtisticLicenseMedicine considering that the oft-claimed health effects of MSG have absolutely zero scientific backing whatsoever.

** "Vegged Out": A woman who uses a zucchini to practice fellatio -- and ends up getting it lodged in her throat after [[RakeTake getting hit in the face by a hoe]] (the garden tool, [[JustForFun/IThoughtItMeant not the other kind]]).

** "Sex Ray" is an odd example, as none of the participants having sex died, but an onlooker. [[spoiler: The man was inside a hospital, having a brain scan taking using radiation. In a nearby room, a nurse and the doctor start having sex, accidentally hitting the power button for the radiation machine...]]

** "Hertz So Good": An exhibitionist couple (the male in the couple sporting a new Prince Albert piercing) get it on on top of an old transformer. The Prince Albert the guy is sporting causes electricity to shoot through his member and electrocute him. The girl remains safe, since she was sitting on the transformer and not touching the ground, thus not completing a circuit.

** Subverted in "Bed Buggered", where a nerd, who suffered the agony of being "sexiled" (read: kicked out of a dorm room or apartment by a roommate who needs a place to have sex with his partner) when his jock roommate landed some tail, finally got some of his own. While doing his girlfriend, the jock tried to hit on her. Unfortunately for the jock, the top bunk (where the nerd and his girlfriend were doing the nasty) falls on top of and crushes him.

** "Vom-Ate-Dead": An emetophiliac (a sexual deviant who gets aroused by vomiting or being vomited on) tries to pursue the winner of a hot dog eating contest. She forces him to throw up by sticking her fingers down his throat and accidentally gets a piece of unchewed hot dog lodged in her throat.

* DeathByAThousandCuts: The crooked art auctioneer in "Cham-Pained" after she tried to open the bottle of champagne for a champagne fountain, but accidentally [[EyeScream popped the cork right on her eye]], causing her to fall on the stack of wine glasses. Also, a {{Jerkass}} banker in "Skyscraped" when she looked through a large window, and a freak gust of wind shatters the window, impaling her with hundreds of sharp glass. There's also the flasher in "Wedding Crasher" who tries to escape, but mistook an entrance for a clear glass window. You can guess what happens next.

** A psychopath in the 1950s is subjected to electro-shock therapy to cure his psychosis. The full effects of the shocks doesn't hit him until he tries to escape, at which point the arrhythmia from the shocks causes him to have a heart attack.

** And the Amish boy on Rumspringa (a time for Amish teens to go out and live like "normal" teens {i.e., drink, smoke, have premarital sex, drive cars, experience modern technology, wear colorful clothes, etc} before buckling down for a life of work) who died of drinking alcohol because his body was genetically incapable of doing so. He just wanted to have fun (considering the sheltered culture he lived in), it wasn't like he was a jerk when he drank, and the Amish don't really believe in modern medicine, so how was the boy supposed to know he had that problem?

*** And this one's entirely true. This particular death is a reenactment of what happened to Aloha Airlines Flight 243 in 1988. Literally the only thing they changed was the stewardess being a jerkass.
** Gunther in Info-Pain-Ment. Sure he yells and screams at his two friends, but they were more interested in fooling around than helping him. And one of them even ended up killing him when he used one of Gunther's contraptions in the wrong way. But bamboo-spike in the ear seemed a bit harsh for Gunther.

** The woman having a long-distance sex play with her husband in which he is tied up. A crook enters the house, robs her and when he talks to her, his halitosis makes her choke on her own vomit. She did nothing except being kinky for her husband. [[KarmaHoudini In the meanwhile, the robber goes scot-free]].

** "M-R-Ouch!": A double subversion in a highly unusual death. An armed drug addict breaks into the hospital looking for drugs, and he holds up the night-shift nurse. She gives him the drugs, but the drug addict holds her up even more. The nurse calms the addict down and then distracts him by stripping down to her bra, panties, and stockings, while at the same time leading to the MRI room. She turns on the MRI, and the gun flies to the MRI machine. But then the addict starts to tremor, then starts flying head-first into the MRI machine, killing him. The addict had a metal plate screwed onto his skull beforehand.

** "Hard Balled": A jock who bullies other students throws a lacrosse ball at them. He's distracted when the prettiest girl on campus walks by and doesn't notice when a ball bounces off a wall and back at him, causing commotio cordis.

** A dump truck driver shows up for work hungover and accidentally buries a co-worker in sand while said co-worker was digging a ditch.

** "Curl Up And Die": a male ChattyHairdresser from TheSeventies makes a habit of seducing his female clientele with alcohol and quaaludes, a drug that was legal until the 80's. At the end of the day, he was so hopped up on ludes and booze that he passed out on his curling iron, burning his trachea to a crisp.

** In "Drunk Die-er" a serial drunk driver has an accident and was mistakenly declared dead on the scene, the paramedics discover that he's an organ donor, and his organs were harvested from him [[AndIMustScream while he was still alive]].

** The first season had a different theme for the deathcard at the end of each segment. Although, the deathcard theme from season 2 can be heard in "Re-formed"

** In "Vermin-ated": A thief becomes stuck in a pipe and a swarm of rats that eat their way through his brain.

** "Pigging Out": A crooked farmer suffer this fate at the hooves of another farmer's prize boar after he tried to steal said boar's sperm.

* EjectionSeat: In "Chairway to Heaven", a deadbeat, selfish dad purchases one as furniture for he and his fat loser friend's new guy pad. Unbeknownst to him, the seat still had a live ejector rocket in it and when he pulled the ejection handle, he was sent flying through the roof and his skull was crushed.

** "Sun Burnt": A sociopathic geek creates a death ray by covering a parabolic dish with tin foil. After experimenting on his death ray and attempting to heat a can of beans, [[StuffBlowingUp it explodes]], knocking the geek out and he lands forward into the path of his death ray, which burns his skull and cooks his brain.

** "Scam Eye Am (Dead)": A Nigerian scam artist gets found out and hides behind a door with a coat hook on it. Enter the angry scam victim, who shoves open the door and accidentally(?) impales the man through the eye.

** Ring a Ding Dead: A hipster goes to a garage sale early to get the good stuff. While there, he tries to steal a ring (an heirloom which the garage sale man has been looking for). During a fight to get it back, a secret is learned about the ring: it was a loaded ring gun and one of them accidentally sets the ring off into the hipster's eye.

** The sexy scuba diver who escaped dying from the bends -- and ends up dead in her decompression chamber after a maintenance man accidentally turned off the pressure gauge.
** The sexy divorcee who went out to flirt with the construction-workers only to be sliced in half by a concrete-saw.

** The wannabe stripper whose phony GagBoobs (which were little more than water balloons with dissolved oxygen inside of them) exploded while she was on an airplane.

** One fat man dies from his ulcerous stomach ripping open after he asked his girlfriend to alleviate his constant burping by punching him in the stomach, and another has a heart attack caused by the MSG in ten(!) plates of Chinese food. Although a real life MSG overdose would at worst make you mildly ill, and even ten plates likely wouldn't be close to OD levels assuming there was even MSG in the food to begin with - considering restaurants now avoid it due to its (completely unevidenced) negative reputation.
** One tries to stop being a FatBastard by way of a do-it-yourself liposuction. It didn't work.

* {{Fingore}}: In "Bot-ily Harm", a teenaged genius who used his robotic inventions to annoy his mom makes a robot with motion sensors from his Mom's Roomba. His bladed robot started up when the boy dropped a screw and picked it up. The robot went into attack mode and sliced off his fingers, cut his leg, and eventually went for his stomach.
** Don't forget the prospect Russian mobster who gets his fingertips burned with acid by his fellow Mafia members in ''USSR-Dead''. (As for the death itself, see GargleBlaster)

* FromBadToWorse: Some victims were in benign or simple situations that were beyond their control. One guy was Japanese guy meeting a prospective employer who hit his head while bowing, accidentally rupturing a brain aneurysm, killing him.

** In 'Rhymes with "Rich"', a gold-digging personal trainer tries to get into the pants of a married businessman, but ends up accidentally breaking her neck while trying a clean-and-jerk weightlifting exercise.
** In '"Booty Trapped"', a gold-digger ends up meeting her fate when an earthquake makes the money bags in her personal vault she keft out of her old rich husband's reach fall on top of her, killing her by asphyxiation.

** "Ass Phyxiated": The chubby-chasing weight loss salesman who dies after having sex with a fat woman.

** "Die-Agra": A man has an overdose on Viagra and dies during an orgasm.

* HappilyMarried: The Japanese couple in "Ichi-Boned", but they never decided to consummate their marriage because the two of them are too nervous about the act! One night, they finally decide to throw caution to the wind, and both GoOutWithABang smiling after suffering simultaneous heart attacks.
* HateSink: Many of the show's characters are some morally bankrupt, like con artists, petty thieves and gangsters, but then there's Max, a successful movie star who yells at everyone around him, is a flat-out racist, and tries to coerce oral sex from his girlfriend before he has his insides sucked out of him through his ass by a Jacuzzi's water intake.

* HoneyTrap: The victim in "Sneeze-bag" is a beautiful woman who works as a spy for a political party, drugging up her boss's biggest rival and then calls the presses to ruin his reputation. It turns out she has the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACHOO ACHOO syndrome]], which is triggered by the camera flashes... and causes her to sneeze uncontrollably, leading to her death from burst blood vessels.

** The robber in "Chucked Up": a naughty-minded housewife [[BoundAndGagged ties herself up]] for her webcam-watching husband. A masked thief breaks in, robs the woman blind, then gets in her face and thanks her for making the job easy. The woman dies of drowning on her own vomit (since the thief's breath was so bad, it caused her to puke and she couldn't do it with duct tape around her mouth). As for the thief, well...he just gets away.

** The car driver in "Sumowed". Yes, the victim was a jerk and the driver was going too fast to stop. However, the car driver did drive away, making them guilty of hit and run.

* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: "Master E-raced" features an SS officer who survives being shot in the head in 1945, only to die when he accidentallly dislodges the bullet decades later. Lampshaded by the narrator:

** "She-Manned": A female bodybuilder and fetish actress who likes to sexually humiliate wussy men narrowly escapes drowning in her own bathtub, but dry-drowns while performing for her latest client due the water she inhaled not being expelled from her lungs.

** The corrupt politician in "Scratch 'n' Snuffed". On one of his trips to his mansion in Brazil while servicing his Brazilian mistress, he was bitten by a triotoma bug (which is also known as the "kissing bug"), which gave him Chagas disease and eventually killed him.

* LaxativePrank: Happens in "S**t Canned," where Murph tries to do this to the bride in a wedding. As [[LaserGuidedKarma karma]] would have it, he takes the spiked drink instead. A KarmicDeath as usual ensues.

* LoanShark: A pair attempt to extract $10,000 from a worker in "Odds Are You're Dead." The worker is on a hydraulic lift, so one shark cuts the hydraulic line. The scissor lift telescopes onto him, decapitating him.

* TheMadHatter: A 19th century hatter who lives up to the [[TropeNamer trope name]] from constant exposure to mercury... then dies of mercury poisoning.

** A group of huffers (drug addicts who get high off the toxic fumes in common household items, like paint, glue, and anything from aerosol cans) find a box containing jars of industrial solvents and one of them [[SarcasmMode has the brilliant idea]] [[TooDumbToLive to soak his clothing with the chemicals]]. Feeling a chill as the chemicals draw away his body heat, he then asks one of the other brain-trusts if he has a light. Appropriately, the story receives the title "Huffington Toast".

** In "Butt F***ed," a chain-smoker has just suffered third-degree burns from accidentally setting his house on fire. He is wrapped in bandages coated with flammable ointment. But he cannot resist one more smoke, and has the nurse sneak his wheelchair outside. He lights the cigarette, and some ashes land on the bandages. They set fire to the ointment, and all the bandages burn. The flames spread to the oxygen tank, which explodes, and the man lights up for the last time in his life.

** The coach who got set on fire in "Work of Fart" when his protege cuts one apparently didn't know stop, drop, and roll.

** "Tunnel Vision" has a cheesesteak vendor make a Molotov cocktail and toss it at a competing vendor, only to accidentally set his own arm and leg on fire with it; in his attempts to put the fire out he runs head-first into a wall painted to look like a tunnel entrance and shatters his skull.

** The wannabe gangsta-rapping Chinese jewelry factory owner in "Grilled," who makes his workers keep long hours, pays them nothing, and forces them to listen to his sad attempts at rapping. [[TheDogBitesBack The workers get their revenge on him by making him a set of fake gold teeth lined with rosary peas -- which contain the highly toxic substance, abrin]].
** The Portuguese dude who goes to the Amazon to search for gold and abuses the natives he hired. He then went into the river to pee, and got a candiru stuck in his junk. Pulling it out didn't help either. All it did was attract piranhas that eat him alive, much to the delight of the poor Brazilian slaves who had to deal with him.

* MileHighClub: A horny couple try to join, only for the festivities (and their lives) to be cut short by some bad turbulence.

* MoreDakka: A hold up man who was planning to rob a jewelry store entered a ''gun shop'' by mistake. The shop's customers and clerks -- all legally armed and acting in self-defense -- put several rounds of ammo into his center of mass, killing him. Can also be considered an instance of [[TooDumbToLive More Baka]] on the part of the dimwitted robber.

** In "Wrin-Killed", a purse snatcher gets his windpipe crushed when he targets [[NeverMessWithGranny a sweet little old lady who has thirty years' experience in Tae Kwon Do]].

** Remember the politician who keeled over after suffering a heart attack from bug bites containing viral fecal matter as result of his repeated trips to Brazil to hook up with his mistress? Yeah, this guy is an {{Expy}} for South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who shamed after he disappeared for days, only to turn up in Buenos Aires, where he was cheating on his wife. The difference between this story and RealLife is Sanford is still alive.

** A dogfighter named Vick is killed by a pitbull named Michael. Ron Perlman even says Michael and Vick with the 'and' being rather quickly spoken.

* NoOSHACompliance: Some of the deaths featured on the show were on-the-job fatalities that could have been prevented if one or more of the persons involved had followed some basic, common sense safety rules. For example, if you work in a factory that makes use of a large curing oven, always make sure nobody is in said oven before you shut the doors and turn on the timer (doubly so if one of your co-workers is a narcoleptic and may have fallen asleep inside.)

** In "Tali-Bombed", set in 2005, one of the terrorists says his favorite American celebrity is Music/MileyCyrus. Miley Cyrus wasn't famous until 2006, when ''Series/HannahMontana'' premiered on the Disney Channel.

** The AlphaBitch hazing sorority pledge master in "Mudder Sucked". After being pulled into a mud wrestling pit by one of the pledges, the Alpha Bitch nearly beats the pledge into unconsciousness, having the other pledges pull her out. The Alpha Bitch was gloating over her victory, but she started to sink into the mud pit and die from suffocation. Turns out the pledges unknowingly built the mud wrestling pit on top of an underground sinkhole.
** The AlphaBitch in "Gooed Riddance". After beating out her friends in "Chubby Bunny" (the objective is to cram as many marshmallows in your mouth as you can while saying "Chubby Bunny"), the marshmallows melted in her mouth and formed a seal in her larynx, causing her to choke to death.
** A {{Jerkass}} horse jockey in "Die-arrhea". After being evicted from his apartment, he was forced to live in the horse stables. Normally, other horse jockeys would give a helping hand, but refused to because of his history of being a bastard. He trains to win one last race as a "screw you" to the other jockeys by being bulimic, and taking illegal Chinese laxatives to be lighter. He won the race, but then he dies from renal failure, potassium deficiency, and dehydration.

** A couple of the stories were also disproved by ''Series/MythBusters'' (like the urban legend that peeing on a electrical fence will kill you) and ''Website/{{Snopes}}'' (the explosive breast implants).

* RussianRoulette: A group of Viet Cong veterans play and all of them live...until their celebration triggers an old landmine buried beneath the shack they were in.

* SelfDamagingAttackBackfire: In "Cleane-Dead Solution" an abusive husband forces his wife to clean the house every day, after she demands the divorce he rushes to hit her but slips in the just washed floor and land on the dishwasher, where his chest collides with a knife killing him.
* SeriesFauxnale: "Sor-Dead Affair" was intended to be the final episode on the series, as the last segment in the episode is Way to Die #1000 "Premature Endings", which features an old man who dies in a hospital bed of natural causes next to his adult daughter, after living a long, fulfilling life and always supporting his loved ones. The narrator goes on and talks how the viewer should not act recklessly like the rest of the idiots on the show who got killed, and instead watch the show from their homes and try to die peacefully like the old man.
** Unfortunately, this episode was aired as the penultimate episode, and then the show got renewed for another season.

** "Wel-Dead": An adrenaline junkie hooks himself up to a welding machine to get a rush. He cranks it up to its highest point when his girlfriend backs off. No points on what happens to him next.

** "Cruci-Fried": A phony preacher was getting ready for another service to con people out of money. While preparing, he heard a hum from the speakers, and cut off the grounding prong from the plug. After stepping in the baptismal pool, he got electrocuted after picking up the ungrounded microphone.

** "Die-Brator": A PsychoLesbian StrawFeminist gets a taser that looks like a vibrator (a Pocket Rocket-style one, not one of many that's shaped like a penis or looks like a knock-off of the Hitachi Magic Wand) from her girlfriend. She puts it in and electrocutes herself to death.

* ShockAndSwitchEnding: Subverted. The show has a segment where the victim is a man whose home gets broken in and the thief throws him off the balcony. Then we see the usual recap and the screen that numbers and names the death: "Homie Invasion"... then a record scratch happens and the narrator quips "Wait, it cannot end like this!". Turns out the man suffered of Lazarus Syndrome and raised up after a moment. He wandered back into his house and, when the thief sees him alive again, he gets so scared he [[LaserGuidedKarma ends up falling over the same railing]]. The screen is shown again, though now the death is renamed "Homie's Dead".

* StockingMask: {{Deconstructed|Trope}} in "Greased is the Word". The victim wore one of this when trying to rob a jewelry, but it blocked his vision and he ended up in a gun shop instead.

** "Les-Boned": A bisexual real estate agent and a lesbian client get it on on top of a washing machine, which explodes due to a methane gas leak ignited by a water heater.

** "Bibli-Killed": Two con artists posing as Bible salesmen take shelter inside a grain silo in order to hide from a shotgun-wielding farmer's wife who overhears them having sex with her granddaughter -- and then blow up when one of them lights a flame that reacts with the grain dust.

** "Mile Die Club": An abusive husband tries to follow his fleeing wife by sneaking into the cargo bay of the plane she's taking to get away from him. But he fails to realize that there's a very good reason for the "No Live Animals" sign, and dies from hypothermia mid-flight.

** "Phlegm Phatale": An Internet couple agree to meet in the real world. The man, a germophobe, uses a neti pot to cleanse his sinuses beforehand. However, because he either refused to use or didn't have access to a source of distilled water, he decided to use tap water. Unfortunately, the bathroom sink is ''not'' a source of distilled water, and he ends up with a parasite that destroys his brain because he used contaminated water to clean his sinuses.

** Especially in the later seasons -- the crew love taking the piss out of anyone contemptible, such as perverts, thieves, fools, addicts, drug abusers, and bullies. Concurrent with the rise in gore.

** "That's Mister Death to You" has a dogfighter named Vick get killed by a dog named Michael.

* TisOnlyABulletInTheBrain: Deconstructed in "Master E-raced". In the last days of UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, an SS officer is shot in the head by an American soldier, but survives. However, the bullet was lodged next to a major artery, so when he bumps his head on his refrigerator decades later, he dislodged the bullet and severed the artery.

*** Bungee-jumping from a cherry-picker... without properly measuring the cord first.

** You have to had fallen asleep in biology class to think swallowing a tapeworm is the best idea to lose weight.

* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Some times played straight, mostly averted: often, unless the victim was really a douche, the bystanders near have a panic attack.

** In "Car Jacked", a car thief tried to steal a rich man's muscle car and got into his garage via descending from the ceiling. Then his leg got tangled in the rope and he ended up hanging ''upside down'' for several hours, which killed him in the end.

** ''Series/MythBusters'' actually [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVsXBnV0guw debunked]] the GagBoobs death twice. This leads to many of the other less well-known deaths and situations to become suspect on whether they're possible or actually happened. On the other hand, it's explicitly stated in that "death" that the implants were water balloons made by a quack, not the real deal. [=MythBusters=] de-bunked the myth using real breast implants, but never bothered to test fake ones.

* VolcanicVeins: one of the stories is about a drug dealer who tripped out at a rave and injected glow stick fluid into his veins. He had this effect for several minutes, and became the center of attention... [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome and then he dropped dead]].
* VomitIndiscretionShot: "Pukey" Suki is an emetophiliac (a sexual deviant who derives pleasure from either vomiting or being vomited on), so we see her induce a couple of men to vomit, and the vomiting is displayed on-camera with no attempt to hide it.

** Bill and his wife, Billie in "Kill Bill & Billie". The segment starts off as yelling about how they hate each other. Bill calls a hitman against Billie, if she's seeing another man, then kill them both. However, [[TheHypocrite he's not faithful himself, as he calls three hookers per week]], and this week, he calls a fourth hooker, who turns out to be Billie. As they start yelling like at the beginning, the hitman comes and kills them both before they can even notice.

*** The [[ShesGotLegs long-legged girl]] [[GoingCommando with no panties under her miniskirt]] who was the target of another peeping tom... who, after being caught, ended up {{impaled|WithExtremePrejudice}} when a constructor worker drops a pipe on him.

* RuleOfCool: The show might not have the stones to admit it, but it positively subsists on this, considering the [[BasedOnAGreatBigLie dubious nature]] and [[invoked]]CriticalResearchFailure of some of the stories told.
