* Myth/NativeAmericanMythology: Some of the creatures the boys go after hail from Native American folklore, something they take very seriously since they all have Native American ancestry. Moving trivia and YMMV tropes to correct pages

* DuelingWorks: With Animal Planet's ''Finding Bigfoot'', at one point getting into a "feud" with them.
* FollowTheLeader: After the show's success, two other shows following the same formula began airing: ''Alaska Monsters'' and ''Swamp Monsters''.

* InMemoriam: Following Trapper's death, the series did a whole episode dedicated to him.

* {{Squick}}: Quite a few times, there are some gross moments.
** In one episode, Trapper gets peed in the face by the Sheepsquatch.
** At one point, Trapper kisses a severed deer's head the Dustman mounted on a stick, resulting in Buck vomiting.
** The sight of a possessed Huckleberry, buck naked and hugging a totem pole, is something the boys would rather not see.
