* WhatTheHellHero: In the first episode, Maddie calls out Knuckles for turning the living room into a gladiator arena (and one that's very hazardous at that) and getting Ozzy to fight their mailman in it. Perfectly understandable, as this would be ''illegal'' in modern Earth society.

* TeleportGun: Agent Willoughby has a gun loaded with the teleport rings used by Sonic and Knuckles in the films, which she first uses to drop Knuckles into a containment box after she and Mason fail to overpower him conventionally.

** The rock opera expositing Knuckles' backstory in Episode 4 is similar in tone and purpose to the them song of ''WesternAnimation/SonicUnderground'', the first western cartoon to feature Knuckles.

* NonSingingVoice: Wade's singing voice in Episode 4 is provided by Music/MichaelBolton of all people.

** In "What Happens in Reno, Stays in Reno", there is a pair of Creator/{{ESPN}} commentators at the bowling tournament. Specifically, they are from ESPN 8: The Ocho - the version introduced in ''Film/DodgeballATrueUnderdogStory'' before being [[{{Defictionalization}} defictionalized]].

* ClarkesThirdLaw: Discussed in "The Warrior". When he witnesses Agents Mason and Willoughby coming through a ring at the bowling alley, Knuckles asks "What devilry is this?"

* AdaptationalContextChange: The Flames of Disaster, contrary to their original counterpart in ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' where it know as Iblis was [[SealedEvilInAPerson sealed away into Elise]] who cannot cry lest she release Iblis and unleash a fiery apocalypse upon the world, [[spoiler:are completely disconnected from said fiery beast in the movie continuity as it's been turned into an AdaptationalSuperpowerChange, now a power wielded by a Fire Demon, and a power known to the Echidna Tribe that's manifested from the true strength within one's heart, and when Knuckles uses the Flames of Disaster, his fists are set ablaze as his power is enhanced drastically.]]

* ArchnemesisDad: Downplayed example with Wade's dad, [[spoiler:Pistol Pete]]. Not only did he abandon his family, after Wade tried to reconcil with him in Reno, [[spoiler: he actually sold Wade out to the rogue G.U.N. agents just to win the Bowling tournament]]. He's not really a villain, but certainly not a good guy and responsible for a lot of Wade's emotional damage.

* BarehandedBarBending: During a workout session in the trailer, Knuckles is seen bending a barbell (with four weight plates on each end) and casually throwing it aside effortlessly, which is a given due to his enormous SuperStrength.

* PassThePopcorn: In the last scene of the trailer, Knuckles and Wanda drink coffee as they watch Wade get dragged away by a motorcycle.

** At one point in the trailer, Knuckles relaxes under a tree, unloading a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos into his mouth.

* NotSoAboveItAll: One brief scene in the trailer shows Knuckles downing a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos while relaxing under a tree, not quite what you would expect from an echidna warrior.

** After Knuckles attacked the repair crew, Sonic points out it's the fourth time that has happened during that month.

** Pachacamac's role in this series as a SpiritAdvisor is ironically the same one that his daughter Tikal had in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure''.

* IAmNotWeasel: As shown in a sneak peak for "The Warrior", Knuckles thinks Ozzy is a wolf. He's not exactly ''wrong'', though, as domestic dogs are a subspecies of wolf.
* InnerThoughtsOutsiderPuzzlement: In Episode 2, Wade imagines himself saving Knuckles and sharing a hug with him. Cut back to reality, where the man behind the counter is looking confused why Wade is hugging the items he's about buy.
