** Get ready for this one: In season 3, Jerome is the Archie, playing with the hearts of Mara's determined and intelligent Veronica, and Willow's ditzy and energetic Betty. He can't take the pleasure of choosing one of them, since they humiliate him in front of the whole school.
** In season 3, Jerome is still the Archie, with Mara's Betty and Joy's Veronica. [[spoiler: this case exists because Mara wants to take revenge on Jerome for hurting her, and asks Joy to seduce Jerome into liking her so she can proceed to breaking his heart. However, Jerome and Joy end up falling for each other, making Joy Jerome's endgame.]]

** While Jason is describing the acting exercise of using subtext to make the words "I love you" have different meanings, and Jerome and Mara are talking, Fabian and Mick can be seen in the background quickly backing away, and then later awkwardly doing the exercise.
** In another episode, while Patricia and Eddie are having a small argument, Sibuna's shocked faces in the scene make it hilarious. The fact that they all react in perfect unison sells it.

** While Jason is describing the acting exercise of using subtext to make the words "I love you" have different meanings, and Jerome and Mara are talking, Fabian and Mick can be seen in the background standing right up against each-other, quickly backing away, and then later awkwardly doing the exercise.
** In another episode, while After Patricia and Piper get busted for their TwinSwitch and Piper's existence is revealed to Mr. Sweet, Eddie is in the background attempting to figure out who is who. He then excitedly points at Patricia after she attempts to claim that [[AcquaintanceDenial she's never seen Piper before]].

* GuiltTripping: Late into season 1, Jerome gets jealous of Alfie becoming close to the Sibuna gang. He decides to exploit his best friend for information (and money from Rufus). In order to convince him to betray the others, he tricks Alfie into thinking that the Sibunas abandoned him in the cellar and left him locked in a sarcophagus at night -- even going so far as to act hurt when Alfie correctly accuses him of stealing and using his walkie talkie. Alfie feels bad enough to start desperately trying to make amends, starting by giving up his food.

* UnnecessarilyCruelRejection:
** In one episode, Amber believes that Jerome is her secret admirer, King Tut. She tries to let him down softly... only for him to start loudly laughing at her, mocking her for believing that, and then humiliating her in front of everyone else by announcing that Amber just asked him to prom. Amber is thoroughly hurt by this.
** After overhearing that Patricia has a crush on him, Eddie attempts to speak to her, "forcefield lowered", and ask her on a date. She isn't ready to acknowledge her feelings yet, though, and doesn't take kindly to this. She responds to his earnest confession by insulting him, insisting that she hates him, and forcing him to retreat back behind his own wall, prolonging the BelligerentSexualTension.

* PuzzleBox: In season 3, Sibuna comes across an odd capsule with moving parts, each depicting a different image. They figure out that they need to solve some sort of combination, but have no idea how... until Fabian suddenly discovers that Robert Frobisher-Smythe, who built this capsule, has synesthesia; a condition he passed down to his great granddaughter, KT. They open it by having her dull her other senses until she can make out the colors of the rainbow, which allows her to solve the combination and open the capsule.

* CracksInTheIcyFacade: Jerome is initially introduced as an arrogant, manipulative {{Jerkass}} who joins Patricia in tormenting Nina for the giggles. But, when Amber thoughtlessly asks Nina why she wasn't raised by her parents instead of her grandmother, Jerome gets genuinely upset for a moment and mumbles that she's "the queen of tact". He's also shown to be horrified later on when Alfie is hospitalized, on the verge of tears when talking to Victor. These moments serve as early signs that he's actually a JerkWithAHeartOfGold with ParentalAbandonment issues and legitimate, if grudging, concern for others -- a side of him that Mara soon notices and works to help him show off more often, even if the rest of the House still sees him as a jerk.

* JokersLoveJunkFood:
** Alfie, the house's resident ClassClown, is also known as a BigEater obsessed with sugary, fatty foods. Everyone is well aware of his love of chocolate cake, even to the point of the villains trying to exploit that craving to further their plans. He once chose Trudy's cookies over a Sibuna meeting, to the amusement and irritation of his friends. He's even known for attempting to smuggle sweets when people aren't looking.
** Eddie in season 2 is introduced as a rebellious bad boy and jokester who provides much of the season's comic relief. He's also a messy chef and eater who creates massive stacks of pancakes, creates a sandwich stuffed with spaghetti Bolognese, and downs whipped cream directly from the canister.

* EatingLunchAlone: Eddie ends up being ostracized by the other students during lunch after it's revealed that his father is Mr. Sweet. Patricia attempts to join him, but as he blames her for it, he's having none of it. Instead, he just snarkily acts like he's fine with the extra space, but also bitterly notes that nobody even wants to know him anymore.

* KillTheParentRaiseTheChild: Subverted. [[spoiler:It's first believed that Victor Rodenmaar Sr. killed the Frobisher-Smythe parents before becoming Sarah Frobisher-Smythe's new guardian. This wasn't helped by his [[AbusiveParents abusive nature to both Sarah and his son]], with him only raising the girl as a means to find her father's treasure. Sarah herself outright suspected his involvement. In a SchoolPlay about these events, Nina even went with this interpretation, portraying him as a murderer. However, the claims were never actually proven true; Victor Rodenmaar Jr. is appalled by the accusation, and we eventually learn that Robert Frobisher-Smythe was actually cursed and sent into a sleep state for decades]].

* CantBelieveISaidThat: Patricia reacts in concern when she refuses to go down into the cellar while wearing a frilly, pink dress.

'''Patricia''': Not in this dress! ({{Beat}}) Did I really just say that?

* WickedWastefulness: The Sinners perform a variety of [[EvilIsPetty petty acts]] as part of their goal to spread chaos. A common tactic involves ruining or wasting food. [[spoiler:Patricia]] once throws KT's food in the trash, condemning her to go hungry just out of cruelty. In another instance, [[spoiler:Fabian]] is shown ruining the milk at breakfast by contaminating it with jam.
