** When Gabby goes to confront Chief Jones about barring his daughter from becoming a firefighter, which led to her suicide, the look on his face says volumes about how much he regrets his actions. Due to his disappearance in later episodes, it is strongly implied that he may have resigned out of guilt.

* EngineeredHeroics: "Babies and Fools" features a motorcyclist who creates vehicle accidents by throwing large rocks into peoples' windshields from above an overpass so he can swoop in and "save" them to make himself look like a hero, much to Dawson's rage especially once she realizes that this means he put the infant daughter of one of his victims in a filthy storm sewer without any consideration for her safety or checking for any injuries she may have sustained from the crash. Thankfully, he's exposed and arrested before any more innocent people can get hurt.

Ambiguous Disorder has been renamed to Diagnosed By The Audience and now belongs in YMMV.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Some fans wonder if paramedic Chili Chilton might be slightly bi-polar, although we haven't seen her depressed. We find out later she is trying to deal with the death of her sister, Jelly Bean.

* BombThrowingAnarchists: "I Am the Apocalypse" revolves around the team taking a group of victims suffering from respiratory issues due to a fire caused by a gas leak to Chicago Med, only to discover too late that one of them is a suicide bomber looking to kill as many people as he can for notoriety by allegedly infecting himself with a disease worse than Ebola then blowing himself up with a hand grenade so his remains will land on everyone in the lobby to spread it. Fortunately, nobody is killed in the blast and said disease turns out to have been in a stage where it wouldn't have been contagious, [[AllForNothing rendering the bomber's efforts for naught]].

* NoOSHACompliance: One episode as an Amazon-like distribution warehouse floor manager banning bathroom breaks when the staff is apparently being too slow in their quotas compared to the new robots. Of course, nature called for one worker, and he was so desperate and angry that he urinated on one of the robots. That damaged the robot, which went haywire and rammed into the shelving and caused a major collapse on some workers. The firefighters come to the rescue and then investigate what happened. When they discover the manager is at fault (and trying to keep a low profile at that moment), they firmly order him to stay where he is since he is going to have a long talk with OSHA about this blatant workplace reg violation.

** Slightly inverted in "Where the Collapse Started." Antonio tells Casey that he (Casey) has been stringing Gabriela along for three years, and needs to either make a serious commitment or let her go.
** Cruz to Gallo regarding new paramedic Gianna in "Rattle Second City." Cruz isn't Gianna's brother, but they did grow up on the same block. Gallo was just being friendly but Cruz doesn't care.
