* FantasyCreep: The franchise oscillates between going more fantastical and then returning to more grounded territory every so often. [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooWhereAreYou The original series]] named and codified the ScoobyDooHoax, where the villain of the week is just a man in a suit, but down the line, some movies and ''WesternAnimation/TheThirteenGhostsOfScoobyDoo'' would introduce actual supernatural ghosts and elements like werewolves and Dracula, but then the series would go back to its more mundane roots in the late 80s and early 90s, before the animated and live-action movies of the late 90s and early-00s actually sold themselves on the fact that the monsters were real (most of the time), before ''WesternAnimation/WhatsNewScoobyDoo'' went back to mundane villains. Lather, rinse, and repeat for 60 years.

Belly Dancer dewicked

* BellyDancer: Quite a number of examples:
** An episode of ''WesternAnimation/TheScoobyDooAndScrappyDooShow'' called "Scooby's Desert Dilemna" had Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy disguised as them.
** ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooInArabianNights'': Haman, dressed as the Prince in disguise, enjoys a dancer's movements in the royal palace, all before Aliyah-Din interrupts the session in order to present herself for marriage.
** Velma and Daphne disguise themselves as belly dancers in the ''WesternAnimation/WhatsNewScoobyDoo'' episode, "Mummy Scares Best". Scooby even joins in on the action in an attempt to distract a group of hypnotized tourists from harming Velma and Daphne.
** ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooInWheresMyMummy'': Shaggy and Scooby-Doo disguise themselves as belly-dancing mummies.
** In an episode of ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated'' called "Grasp of the Gnome", one is shown at the beginning during the renaissance fair.
*** Another episode called "Dance of the Undead" had Shaggy and Scooby disguised as them.
** In the story ''[[http://scooby-doo.livejournal.com/143909.html The Spooky Spook House]]'', which was published in ''Creator/{{Archie Comics}} #8'', the gang finds a mystery at an amusement park, and Daphne becomes a dancer to attract people to Scrappy Doo's ballgame stand.

* JokersLoveJunkFood: Shaggy and Scooby are {{Big Eater}}s who will eat most things that won't eat them first. Though Shaggy and Scooby do eat healthy food as well, they have a soft spot for sweets, though it varies by incarnation.
** In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooWhereAreYou'', they are shown eating blockbuster pizzas, will dip corn on the cob in chocolate sauce, and are frequently shown hanging out at a malt shop.
** ''WesternAnimation/WhatsNewScoobyDoo'': During the 2000s, Creator/CaseyKasem returned to the role of Shaggy after a falling out over the use of the character in Burger King ads, on the stipulation that Shaggy would now be a vegetarian. This meant he ate "healthier" fare, though still not averse to junk food like ice cream.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: Most crooks are mostly after treasure, scaring people away from the land and other such plans, trying their best to not actually hurt the Gang or the people in their path even if they can be rather [[EvilIsPetty petty]] about something. Key word being ''most''; even for a kid's series, there were several villains such as the Creeper who physically assaulted someone and have attempted murder, which ironically makes them the exception to this trope usually being the standard.

* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: The franchise famously flip-flops on this to the point that it can change per film, series, or even ''episode''. Some parts of the series, the characters rightfully point out that they've done the ScoobyDooHoax so many times that there's no way a ghost can be real, only to be InstantlyProvenWrong, while in other cases clearly supernatural things beyond their usual mysteries are happening and someone like Velma is firmly cemented in ArbitrarySkepticism. There's even installments that double down in ''reverse'', trying their hand at DoingInTheWizard thoroughly to explain every facet of a mystery and making sure absolutely nothing about is supernatural, no matter how implausible or pure science-fiction it may seem. [[RealAfterAll And then they might hint at a real ghost at the very end anyway.]]
