However, their monumental performance at Live Aid in 1985, Freddie Mercury's early death in late 1991 and their 1975 hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" from A Night at the Opera appearing in the popular 1992 comedy Wayne's World caused a major resurgence in the band's popularity, with many critics seriously reconsidering their prior dismissal of the band. Even if Hotaru holds such a philosophy, to claim that the makers of Mortal Kombat are condoning this detestable ideology is as absurd as claiming that Marvel Comics condones the likes of the Red Skull by his mere existence in their fictional universe.

# Film.StarTrekVITheUndiscoveredCountry: Kirk makes a comparison between the Klingon's request for "living space" with Hitler's demands for Lebensraum at the diplomatic dinner (whilst not being very diplomatic). Needlessly to say, this comparison goes down really really badly. Becomes worse when the two Klingons most likely to get it are the traitorous conspiratorial one obsessed with Earth culture and the one who had probably done his research on their planet and history for the forthcoming peace talks. I.e. the two worst of the group to offend with the comparison. However, the latter understood Kirk's old prejudice perfectly and didn't hold it against him, and the former probably goaded Kirk to say that.
# YMMV.ArkhamPatientSessions: Is Jeremiah Arkham really all there? Sure he seems mild-mannered, and he appears to be trying his best to cure the Arkham patients, but his lack of success in doing so, his demonstrable lack of professionalism (like his brutal "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Dr. Death) and some of the extreme methods he takes (such as using Electric Torture on The Riddler) make one wonder just how pure his intentions are.Scarecrow and Black Mask both suggest that Dr. Arkham has a hidden darker side, Black Mask even comparing him to Josef Mengele. When Arkham starts threatening to turn the violent inmates loose on Black Mask by telling them he knows Batman’s secret identity, Black Mask takes it as confirmation of his point. The season finale has the Scarecrow psychology torturing Jeremiah Arkham into insanity, though Arkham’s family history and personal behavior as described by Scarecrow suggest Arkham may have always been at least slightly mad.

# Radio.TheAdventuresOfSuperman: The Clan of the Fiery Cross is one long jab at the Ku Klux Klan, using a thinly veiled pastiche to mock the KKK for its illegal activities, while deriding them as cowards and repeatedly comparing them to the Nazis.
# Film.AFewGoodMen: Kaffee proposes using this as the basis for his court defense of Downey and Dawson: they were ordered by superior officers to discipline Santiago, and their "Code Red" just got out of hand. Weinberg retorts that that line of defense didn't work at Nuremberg and it didn't work at My Lai and it's not going to work now. Kaffee fires back that the difference with the Marines is that they were just carrying out a routine order they didn't think would result in any physical harm. But of course, Code Reds are illegal, regardless of what harm might ensue, so their clients should properly have refused the order. Kaffee ultimately gets them acquitted of the most serious charges largely by tricking their CO into admitting on the stand that he had given said illegal orders.
# Woobie.LiveActionTV: Has two surprising woobies, one is a gay Nazi and the other is a Gestapo agent. Yes, that's right, GodwinsLaw notwithstanding, people who watch this show do feel sorry for Lt. Gruber and Agent von Smallhausen. To be fair though, they can't help that they are citizens of Nazi Germany, who have ended up serving their country in the occupied France.
# NationalStereotypes.EasternEurope: Because of its unusual religious tolerance at certain points in history, Jews flocked to Poland and so Jews have made up a large portion of the Polish population for a long time. Poland had the largest Jewish population in the world until, well, those Nazis again. There was a massive post-war emigration and a lot of the Polish Jews ended up in America (and Israel — during the first 20-30 years of its existence, Knesset debate would sometimes be held in Polish as angry MKs of Polish origin lapsed into their native tongue). Perhaps because of that, most of the Polish people who float around in the American cultural consciousness are of Jewish descent and identify mostly with Jewish culture (Isaac Bashevis Singer, Jerzy Kosinski, etc.) so there tends to be some conflation between Jewish and Polish stereotypes in the American media.
# Funny.TheNewOrderLastDaysOfEurope: One of the later focuses is about painting the NPP as a bunch of fascists with election campaign rhetoric. What's it called? "Everyone I Don't Agree With Is HITLER!" It even uses the Memetic Mutation displayed on the main page as its icon. "Well, they are!"

# Recap.MashS1E7BananasCrackersAndNuts: Hawkeye tells Henry, "Every time you go, he [Frank] turns into instant Hitler." Although, given that the Korean War started only five years after the end of World War II, the reference would probably come across as less tired in the show's time period.
# YMMV.ToddInTheShadows: Now I do realize that I can say controversial things sometimes, but I think we can all agree, comparing the Backstreet Boys to Hitler is entirely accurate and proportional."
# Recap.SwampThingVolume2Issue53TheGardenOfEarthlyDelights: Young gang
Pantheon.VillainousSuccessAndFailure: Former members from Gotham's Manchester district take advantage of the chaos by releasing animals from the zoo in the Coventry area. One gang-banger then boasts about it on TV: Hey Coventry, listen up. You're in trouble, maan. We set a swamp juju on your American Nazi Party ass.

# Characters.TheNostalgiaCriticTheCriticTropesNToZ: In the Child's Play 2 review; "Yeah, when you're going to tie up a child, do it for the same reason I would. To beat him." Because that sounds like the guy who invokes GodwinsLaw on someone who is an asshole to their kids and then leaves them.
I.e. the two worst
Council of the group to offend with the comparison.

# Creator.JKRowling: Used in her essay on Scottish independence when she compared some separatists to the Death Eaters after they accused her of not being Scottish enough to express an opinion.
# BeamMeUpScotty.Theatre: Another in-universe occurrence is in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. Kim overhears Rosie and later truncates the quote in front of her parents: "Rosie was right! Men are all alike - from puberty to Mussolini!" (This causes her father, Harry, to complain about his daughter using such words in front of him.)
# Music.TheClash: The lines "If Adolf Hitler flew in today/They'd send a limousine anyway" in "(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais" actually work because the song is about Nazi skinheads ruining an all-night reggae concert.
# YMMV.DukeNukem: ValuesDissonance: Whilst Duke Nukem Does the Internet is well known for its Values Resonance, Duke mentions anarchists and druggies alongside Nazis, racists, homophobes and other unsavory types. With more people knowing more about Anarchism and the backlash to the War on Drugs, Duke mentioning those two groups alongside Nazis, racists, and homophobes seems like a case of Godwin's Law, or at the very least reactionary.Though this is downplayed in that Duke's respect towards people of different skin colors and ethnicities, respect towards people who are women (even though he is a little too forward when it comes to flirting with the opposite sex), and also respect for people of different sexual orientations is surprisingly progressive for the 1990's.
# Theatre.JefferyBernardIsUnwell: Alluded to. Jeffrey: They always say they mean well. Hitler probably meant well...
# MoralEventHorizon.TabletopGames: Stefan Amaris is perhaps the only person in-universe who has been directly compared to Adolf Hitler. .. in fact, it wouldn't be surprising if a 3025 version of Godwin's Law actually named "Amaris' Law". # JustForFun.TheGrandListOfForumAndCommunityLaws: Godwin's Law: As the length of a thread approaches infinity, the probability of a comparison involving Adolf Hitler or the Nazis approaches 1. Corollary: Outside of a small number of specific topics (for example, discussion of the British National Party), making such a comparison automatically loses the debate. Noob Corollary: The alternative to Hitler and Nazis is to call opponents "noobs". While this doesn't usually cause the user to instantly lose the argument, there's a decent chance they're not going to win anyway (moreso if they invoke this when calling someone a noob makes no sense).

# WebAnimation.TerribleWritingAdvice: Says in "Giving Criticism" that it is okay for a critic to compare a writer to any number of authoritarian leaders throughout history (with Adolf Hitler implied), and that the writer will totally take the critic seriously because of it. In "Propaganda", JP encourages comparing the viewer's hypothetical online opponent to Hitler regardless of what they've actually said, even referencing the trope by name.
# WarpThatAesop.Tropes: Any malicious or misleading argument can be lead back to Small Reference Pools of utter bastards, and nothing else in History class is worth retaining. # Literature.DoAndroidsDreamOfElectricSheep: Broken Aesop: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is somewhat divisive, with two very different interpretations and resulting reactions. On the one hand, Roger Ebert compared Deckard to "A Nazi measuring noses", and AI advocates compare the story to The Birth of a Nation for AI. On the other hand, many take away from the story the moral that the difference between appearance of a thing and the actuality of its identity (emotion/compassion apparently being the deontological decider for humanity) are moot: "If it talks, speaks, and thinks like a person, it is a person." It also questions if there is a difference between sentience and programmed routine, and what constitutes self-awareness. What, after all, is the difference between an AI given the ability to simulate emotion via Transferable Memory, and Deckard's wife experiencing artificial emotion from her empathy box?
# Funny.ToddInTheShadows2013Episodes: "In the 90s, we had the boy band wars, which was a terrible time for music, but ultimately, both sides ended up destroyed. I choose to liken it to World War II. # ComicBook.WinterSoldier: Defied by Bucky, who thinks that if he has to compare everything to fighting Nazis, he won't be able to complain about anything.
# TheAvengers.TropesEToL: Invoked, appropriately enough, by Captain America, who compares Loki to the man he dealt with "the last time I was in Germany." He may technically have been referring to Red Skull rather than Hitler but they were both Nazi and he could be referring to both of them. Same by the elderly German in the same scene who refuses to kneel. Elderly man: There are always men like you.
# GenreTurningPoint.LiveActionTV: In 1968, American network ABC was a distant third to its rivals CBS and NBC. Unable to compete with their news departments' coverage of the Democratic and Republican Party conventions that summer, ABC News instead hosted a series of debates between two intellectuals and bitter ideological rivals, the conservative William F. Buckley Jr. and the leftist Gore Vidal. The insults flew fast and furious — among other highlights, Vidal called Buckley a "crypto-Nazi", to which Buckley responded by calling Vidal a "queer" and threatening to punch him in the face. On that stage, the modern image of the Pompous Political Pundit, and the format for the "talking head" political Talk Show, arrived on television in the form of Buckley and Vidal with their back-and-forth insults, while ABC and its news department went from a perennial also-ran to a major player in American television, joining CBS and NBC as one of the Big Three networks.

# Literature.TheSecretAgent: AdaptationNameChange: The 2016 mini-series changes the main character's name from "Adolf" to "Anton". While it's not uncommon to do this - Adolf being an uncommon name these days that might arguably distract audiences from the story - what's interesting is the 1996 film chose not to do so.
# Theatre.Rope: A discussion of Nietzsche and Brandon believing in the concept of supermen prompts the response "so did Hitler" from David's father.
# UsefulNotes.AmericanNewspapers: [=CounterPunch:=] Founded by Alexander Cockburn (who had previously worked for The Nation) in 1994, it covers politics and social issues with a heavily left-wing stance. It has over time made its radical and staunchly leftist credentials loud and clear, considerably more so than The Nation. On the other hand, its tendency for hosting anti-Semitic screeds and the crankier sides of the left-wing, along with a very confrontational if not fervent overtone in its journalismnote Which includes [[GodwinsLaw comparing figures like George W. # VisualNovel.DaughterForDessert: An in-universe example that is off the internet. When Heidi tries to take the car keys from a very drunk MC, he calls her a “Nazi bitch.” Needless to say, she is less than pleased when he shows up again, and she repays the insult by charging him double for drinks.
# Creator.PhilipKDick: BewareTheSuperman: Dick suggested this from time to time, but rarely had the opportunity to write about it, as John W. Raquel doesn't want to hear any of Paul's arguments about how Overgirl hasn't actually committed any crimes and could be redeemable, since Overgirl is literally a Nazi, and that's enough for Raquel to conclude that she's evil. Paul: The point is, though she would take part in a genocide if asked, she never has. Likewise, she hasn't ferreted disabled people out of hiding to send them to the camps because there aren't any. She hasn't had the opportunity to do the evil she'd be willing to do. What she's actually done is crime fighting and disaster relief. So is she evil- Raquel: Yes. Is the Empire the last, best hope for ensuring humanity's prosperity and survival against the genocidal Thalmor, or are they brutal oppressors holding on to a shadow of their former glory who crossed the line trying to appease the Thalmor? Are the Stormcloaks a bunch of heroic freedom fighters pushing a now-impotent empire out of their land and the Only Sane Men who know the only real way to deal with the Thalmor, or are they a bunch of bull-headed, racist idiots that are unwittingly giving the Thalmor exactly what they want and ultimately are just as bad as the Thalmor? Were they all developed enough or no?
# Webcomic.PrincessPi: Used by the Totally Nazis, but more often in reference to people they hate.Practiced in "Princess Pi vs. The Alpha Bitch", when Sam's attorney says anyone who arrests her would be Hitler. Practiced again in "Sam Adams vs. True Love": Sam warns classmate Ty Chiselbottom that if he doesn't dump her fat girlfriend, she'll never develop the desire to lose weight, and she'll die just because he made her feel content with her portly figure. You know what that makes you? A Nazi! And not the cool kind of Nazi, I mean the bad kind!

# YMMV.DukeNukem: ValuesDissonance: Whilst Duke Nukem Does the Internet is well known for its Values Resonance, Duke mentions anarchists and druggies alongside Nazis, racists, homophobes and other unsavory types. With more people knowing more about Anarchism and the backlash to the War on Drugs, Duke mentioning those two groups alongside Nazis, racists, and homophobes seems like a case of GodwinsLaw, or at the very least reactionary.

# Characters.BlackBullet: Only in the light novels. To be more precise, Rentaro compares him to Adolf Hitler on how they both take advantages of tragedies and wars, reunite the people, and use the advantage as a means of establishing a military superpower to Take Over the World. # VideoGame.BattleTech2018: The Magistracy's leadership is backing Kamea's revolution for a handful of reasons.First, having a neighboring star system's ruler in your debt is never a bad thing. Second, Kamea's usurper uncle seems to think Stefan Amaris is a positive role model. Leading to the third, as the Aurigan Reach's neighbors are in a Cold War, and she's concerned that some shortsighted move from Espinosa will turn it hot, so she'd prefer to avoid that by backing the usurped ruler that has a cooler head in a Civil War, giving the neighbors time to cool down further. Espinosa proves himself to be one in the opening mission — not only was he able to turn the majority of the Royal Guard against Kamea, he and his daughter also arranged for the engineers to sabotage any Mech belonging to someone not part of the conspiracy. Raju calls Victoria out for her Evil Gloating given that she won through subterfuge instead of a stand-up fight.

# Fanfic.TheBoltChronicles: Lampshaded humorously by Mittens in "The Survivor" when she invokes Adolf Hitler during a conversation with her canine friend Petey, saying this will bring their conversation to a close. I mean, it seems like most Gallians won't touch a Darcsen with the end of a long stick, and the implication is that the Empire is far more racist than them... Yet when he tries to force Cordelia to marry him, and she shows him that she is actually a Darcsen, he isn't disgusted, he is pleased! Is that some kind of secret perversion of him or something? Do they consider it one in Europa?he probably appreciates the irony, and he is less racist than most of the good guysThere were virtulent Nazi bigwigs who chose mistresses right out of the camps they controlled. To say nothing of the fact that not everybody in a racist totalitarian state believes in the prejudices, even amongst the leadership. # PlayingWith.CatsAreMean: Alex the Cat always pick fights with rats, dogs and other cats, to the point even kittens are victims of this. Alex the cat is possessed by the Devil. The author portrays cats as Always Chaotic Evil. The cats start a program whereby mice are systematically tortured and enslaved. Alternatively: the author combines this with GodwinsLaw and portrays cats as Nazis. Alex the Cat is a profoundly wicked alley cat who torments and kills dozens of smaller animals (and even his previous owner) out of sheer sadism.

Only a couple of tracks on the album ("Holiday" and "American Idiot" especially) are explicitly political, though, with the main focus of the album being a narrative about disaffected youths. Most assume the entire album is nothing but political ranting because the two most Anvilicious songs were released as singles and, consequentially, received the most airplay

# RobotChicken.TropesAToH: Gargamel invokes this upon himself after he is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for racial crimes against The Smurfs (1981). He tries to clarify in his defense that all he was trying to do was completely wipe out and eradicate every last Smurf off the face of the Earth. The judge points out that he just gave the textbook definition of "Genocide". Gargamel: Oh... soooo... me and Hitler, huh?
# Literature.DonCamillo: Subverted, as in the heat of the moment opposing characters show no hesitation to call each other fascists, e. g. Peppone sarcastically calling Don Camillo "Duce" and Gina Filotti needling Peppone by referring to him as podestà - the term for "mayor" under Fascism - instead of sindaco.
# Funny.HipsterHitler: Godwin's law.
# YMMV.MortalKombatDeception: Hotaru is frequently demonized to a degree greater than the way he is presented in canon with some detractors going to the extreme of claiming he is A Nazi by Any Other Name. While it is true that he is a Legalist and possibly can also be interpreted as an Authoritarianist (though one with Utilitarian motivations), but there is no concrete evidence that he holds views that resemble those of fascism (unless one is going by the looser definition of the term). Even if Hotaru holds such a philosophy, to claim that the makers of Mortal Kombat are condoning this detestable ideology is as absurd as claiming that Marvel Comics condones the likes of the Red Skull by his mere existence in their fictional universe.
# Webcomic.Sinfest: On another level, the horrors of the "Anti-Nazi Goggles" would probably hit a bit harder if not for the fact that the strip in its modern form directly and openly compares social media companies to Nazis (to the point that even their headquarters are designed to look like scenes straight out of Nazi Germany) because they ban right-wing pundits who break their site rules, and explicitly endorsed running over rioters with a vehicle, something that in the context of American politics is itself widely considered to be at best an act of vigilantism and at worst an act of terrorism.

# Characters.SouthParkElementarySchoolStaff: He's a douche, but he would never use his progressive views to try and get laid. He even calls in a meeting with the other PC bros to tell them that doing so is insincere and manipulative. By Season 21, he's started to get sick of Cartman constantly demanding he help him feel better about himself in school. Season 25 shows he does not appreciate it when the students compare him not giving them whatever it is they want to Nazi Germany and he's repeatedly told them not to trivialize the Nazis by doing so.
# PlayingWith.MoreHateableMinorVillain: Evulz commits horrific atrocities daily and loves doing so, but the heroes treat him like a sad abused puppy because of his Freudian Excuse. Meanwhile, Charlie the school bully is mean to Alice and steals money from her once and the heroes are out for his blood, even calling him worse than Hitler.
# YMMV.TheAdventuresOfSuperman: "The Clan of the Fiery Cross" has messages that still hold up well;Americans of different races and religions deserve the same respect as everyone else. Do not give into fear in the face of violence and intolerance, you will only give your oppressors what they want and let them get stronger. People who exploit racial tensions care more about power and money than any kind of ideals. The storyline more than once compares the Klan to the Nazis. As Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist groups have become increasingly tied with the Neo Nazis, this comparison proved highly prophetic.
# Characters.Frozen50sMan: He uses the phrase by name when it turns out the Q he's been working for is actually a living, breathing Nazi and not a heroic American freedom fighter working in secret from within the government.
# Recap.TheNostalgiaCriticS2E4: Critic compares the scene where Kurt is giving the employees a dictator-like speech, with speeches by the Fuhrer, complete with fast food related English subtitles. "HEIL MONDO BURGER!" He later calls Mondo Burger "Hitler Burger". Hitler: And don't forget the fries with that! God HELP you if you forget the fries with that!
# PlayingWith.PompousPoliticalPundit: Bob compares tolerance of homosexuality, religious and ethnic minorities, environmentalism, and Keynesian economics to Communism at least Once per Episode. Alice compares gun rights, Chicago economics, people who aren’t vegan, the fossil fuel industries, and internet memes to Nazism at least Once per Episode. Every single person in the entire studio is a Pompous Political Pundit.
# Creator.WilliamFBuckleyJr: Buckley absolutely despised being called a fascist or a Nazi, or any association of conservatism with those ideologies. Exchanges on his show would become noticeably more tense if this occurred or was even hinted at, and Gore Vidal pressing it caused him to completely lose his cool. This might have been a response to dubious political choices early in his career (see Old Shame below).
# Recap.SuccessionS04E06: Attempted by Matsson, whose tweet seems to compare Living+ to the Holocaust. Kendall, who learns of this during the Q&A, is able to allay the audience's concerns. Shiv privately convinces Matsson to delete the tweet.
# LetsPlay.Videogamedunkey: In his "Escape from Hell" video, most of his team gets caught in the jungle, prompting Dunkey to complain, "My team is Hitler on four computers."In the sequel video, "Escape from Gold," there is a player named SneakyAdolf who is farming minions during a team fight. Dunkey refers to the player as "the real Hitler."
# Characters.KingOfTheHillTheHillsFamilyAndOtherRelatives: Cotton is an abusive father and husband. One time, he was even seen using Tilly as a footstool, and holds Peggy in ill regard. However, when he sees Peggy in her body cast following her near-fatal skydiving accident, Cotton immediately assumes it's Hank's fault and is disgusted with him. "Hank, what'd you do to your wife? I didn't teach you that!" He may be politically incorrect, but he won't tolerate someone mis-identifying someone else's ethnicity. When Dale referred to Kahn as Japanese Cotton correctly identified Kahn as Laotian. When meeting Tilly's new boyfriend, he correctly identifies his surname as Jewish as says he had the honor of serving alongside a Jewish soldier in the war. He can be mildly racist at times but he also hates Nazis. Which makes sense considering he was a WWII vet (albeit in the Pacific, not Europe). He's especially annoyed when Luanne's spoiled roommate calls him one.

While whether or not the mothers' accusations that Lorelai was glamorizing Teen Pregnancy were justified is a debate of its own, they do bring up a good point that Lorelai could've just turned down answering the questions in the first place to ignore any potential unfortunate implications. Definitely doesn't help that Lorelai's only response to the statement was a Nazi joke.

# YMMV.ZhirinovskysRussianEmpire: In one scene, a UIS diplomat comically accuses his Estonian counterparts of being Nazis. A year after the scene was posted, the Russians in real life notably accused Ukrainian pro-democracy activists of being Neo-Nazis when they rose up in protest against their corrupt government.
# Funny.MothersBasement: Him playing the famous "are we the baddies? clip while discussing the obvious China stand-in's new government using Swastikas as their iconography despite their ideology not having any apparant connections to "Hisler". # Series.SweetVicious: Chloe and the Lindsays, the leaders of the Kappa Kappa Phi sorority, are a particularly nasty example, cruelly abusing pledges and filming it for a fetish site. Ophelia describes Chloe as "the love child of a CrossFit instructor and Mussolini." Ophelia's mother Bobbi was this when she went to Darlington, coming up with at least one of the Kappas' hazing rituals herself.
# Film.OneTwoThree: In a sign of maybe not the healthiest marriage, Phyllis refers to her husband as "Mein Führer."
# YMMV.TotalWarWarhammerII: Much like Durthu before him, fans seem to enjoy referring to Tehenhauin as Lizard Hitler, due to the fact that one of the abilities gained through rituals done by Tehenhauin allows him to start a race war between the Lizardmen and the Skaven.

# WebVideo.ThirdRateGamer: At the beginning of one episode, Billy gives TRG some fanart. It's a picture of Adolf Hitler with blonde hair and mustache.
# YMMV.ADream: The phrase, "Valiant did nothing wrong" has been seen repeatedly both in the comments and In-Universe. The author has brought up how Twilight (and many others) would consider this like saying, "Hitler was completely innocent."
# Recap.FawltyTowersS2E3WaldorfSalad: This trope is older than the Internet: "You ponce in here expecting to be hand-waited on hand and foot, well I'm trying to run a hotel here!
# Recap.SwampThingVolume2Issue53TheGardenOfEarthlyDelights: Young gang members from Gotham's Manchester district take advantage of the chaos by releasing animals from the zoo in the Coventry area.
# PlayingWith.TautologicalTemplar: The Lawful Stupid Tomoe, proud solder of The Empire, knows that she's one of the good guys — she's a soldier for justice! And that means she does nothing but good deeds, and punishes the baddies! Even that puppy was evil! Bob is a member of La Résistance, and he labels everything he doesn't like as pro-empire whether its accurate or not.
# Literature.GoSetAWatchman: Scout compares Atticus to Hitler during their confrontation. Atticus just smiles.
# Funny.TheSpoonyExperiment: Comparing the church of New Yevon to the neonazis comes so much out of nowhere that it's bloody hilarious.
# Literature.TheArtsOfDarkAndLight: GreatOffscreenWar: The war against the Witchkings a number of centuries back, which broke the back of the kingdoms of the elves and enabled the rise of Amorr and Savondir as the main great powers of the setting. Whether seen as history (by the humans) or living memory (by the elves), everyone still recognizes how important it was. In the setting, it's treated much like World War II is in real life, as a great defining political and cultural event, and the Witchkings are still invoked in rhetoric as the one supreme great evil, much like a sort of fantasy version of GodwinsLaw.
# Music.OysteinSunde: From the end of "Du må'kke komme her og komme her": Sunde: All right, you're saying you're Just Following Orders, but they said that in 1945 too, and that didn't suffice!
# Recap.FamilyGuyS4E10ModelMisbehavior: The Cookie Monster tells the mental hospital doctors that they're Nazis when they sedate him.
# YMMV.TheElderScrollsVSkyrim: The Civil War campaign is the catalyst for a few of these. Jump into any forum topic about it (or this very wiki, where Ulfric Stormcloak has been compared to both George Washington and Hitler) and expect to see a Flame War.
# Series.Brockmire: Jim somehow ties spitting your chew on the floor to being like Hitler while off-screen.
# Recap.CommunityS4E04AlternativeHistoryOfTheGermanInvasion: The study group is labeled as Nazis by the other students for the crime of... selfishly over-extending their use of the study room without consideration for other people who might want to use it.
# QuestionableContent.TropesEToH: Invoked and lampshaded in strip 1020. The only thing dumber than an argument on the internet is the same argument in real life.
# DarthWiki.BELQDNG: Two aliases he uses are Ignatius "Igniz" Goodman and Godwin S. Law He also tends to wear a bowler hat and walk with a cane, and then at one point drops his favorite quote "Come now, you know that's just a matter of words.".
