From the second season's finale onwards, Celestia has garnered some haters who point out her failings and shortcomings, and even saying how some of the things she says just paints her in a [[Administrivia/RenamedTropes darker shade of black]] than before. It doesn't help that some of the events, both in the expanded universe and the canon universe, seem to help justify their accusations. The most infamous of them being how [[spoiler:Celestia's escapes into an alternate universe to romance a good version of King Sombra caused the two worlds to collide and nearly destroy both of them at the same time]].

* ''Fanfic/{{Pattycakes}}'' inflicts this on Fluttershy, turning her from a FriendToAllLivingThings who is able to resist Discord's HannibalLecture through IncorruptiblePurePureness into a creepy "age play" fetishist who brainwashes Rainbow Dash and her other friends into an infantile state.
* ''FriendshipIsWitchcraft'' does this to Fluttershy, the leader of an evil cult to summon the god of destruction Smooze, and Twilight Sparkle, who kills Cadence and some classmates because she thought they were competition. Applejack, meanwhile, is a war criminal.

* PonyDotMov intentionally does this to just about all of the Mane Six for [[RuleOfFunny comedic purposes]]. Applejack (or rather, Jappleack) is a violent hick who often abuses Applebloom, Pinkie Pie is a drug-addicted AttentionWhore, Rainbow Dash is a straight-up {{Jerkass}}, Fluttershy is an AxCrazy, chainsaw-happy psychopath with a penchant for {{Slasher Smile}}s, Rarity enslaves Mexicans, and Twilight Sparkle is an incompetent MadScientist. Certain of them do get some CharacterDevelopment, the [[Blog/AskJappleack "Ask Jappleack"]] Tumblr page coming to mind.

* Many of "FanFic/TheConversionBureau" stories feature this, intentionally or [[DesignatedHero otherwise]]. To elaborate: the series is set in a version of Earth where Equestria has suddenly appeared... and is radiating energy that will eventually kill all human life. The solution hit on by the ponies is to transform human beings into ponies... which also changes their personalities radically. Some authors focus on how this is akin to genocide, while others believe that this is the best possible thing that could happen to Earth. The former do this intentionally, the latter otherwise.

* ''Fanfic/LettersFromADisgruntledFriendshipStudent'' has Twilight Sparkle as a [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain homophobic, genocidal, racist pony]] who wants nothing to do with her friends and suggests Pinkie Pie become a suicide bomber in one case, or feeding Fluttershy to the dragon. And that's one of her ''tamest'' acts of evil.

She even briefly considers [[spoiler:''[[TakenForGranite turning AJ into stone]]'' (and it's stated she had done the same to "so many would be radicals in the past")]] after AJ [[spoiler:implicitly threatens to {{blackmail}} her with the knowledge of her affair]]- which verges on this trope for AJ as well! (It should be noted that, while this is part of a larger series, most appearances therein of Celestia and AJ are much more in line with canon.)

In fan works - ''[[ProtagonistCenteredMorality sympathetic]]'' [[ProtagonistCenteredMorality ones at that!]] - she is often depicted as perfectly willing to exact revenge on Suri for being a jerk. While some art/fics play it for laughs (most of them involving the coffee Suri never got), others decide that simply isn't enough, go the CharacterDerailment route, and show poor Coco beating up or even straight-up killing Suri.

* We also have numerous artwork and fanfiction of Angel Bunny being abused by Fluttershy (examples include the stare being heavily abused on him, her shooting him with a gun, etc) or himself being a becoming a full-on domestic abuser. * ''Fanfic/RainbowFactory'' does this to Rainbow Dash, who in canon is a brave, loyal JerkWithAHeartOfGold who would never abandon her friends. Rainbow Factory!Dash is an AxCrazy dictator who not only oversees the deaths of failed fliers, but callously murders Scootaloo.

** ''Fanfic/FrigidWindsAndBurningHearts'' has Celestia banishing Luna to the Moon in order to protect her rule over Equestria and then spending a millennium cementing her control over ponykind. What makes this a particularly egregious case is that the author claims to be a fan of Celestia and that he intended the story to be a GrayAndGrayMorality tale.

* We also have numerous artwork and fanfiction of Angel Bunny being abused by Fluttershy (examples include the stare being heavily abused on him, her shooting him with a gun, etc) or himself being a becoming a full-on domestic abuser.
