** ''Daredevil: Born Again'' sees the return of some of the remaining Netflix ''Series/{{Daredevil|2015}}'' cast (as Creator/CharlieCox had previously reprised his role as Matt Murdock in ''Film/SpiderManNoWayHome'' and ''Series/SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw'', while Creator/VincentDonofrio returned as the Kingpin in ''Series/{{Hawkeye|2021}}'' and ''Series/{{Echo|2024}}''). These include Wilson Bethel as Bullseye and Creator/JonBernthal as the Punisher, last seen the final seasons of ''Daredevil'' and ''Series/{{The Punisher|2017}}'', respectively.

** Borderline example, with a MetaCasting twist, in [[Recap/DoctorWho2017CSTwiceUponATime "Twice Upon a Time"]], the 2017 Christmas Special, where [[spoiler:Creator/DavidBradley appeared as the First Doctor, after portraying William Hartnell (and thus the Doctor himself) in the 50th Anniversary docudrama ''Film/AnAdventureInSpaceAndTime''.]]

** The series not only stars Creator/PatrickStewart returning to the role of Jean-Luc Picard eighteen years after ''Film/StarTrekNemesis'', but also guest starred Creator/BrentSpiner as Data (after the same period), Creator/JonathanFrakes as Riker and Creator/MarinaSirtis as Troi (both fifteen years after their appearance in the GrandFinale of ''Series/StarTrekEnterprise''), Creator/JeriRyan as Seven of Nine (nineteen years after the end of ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'') and Creator/JonathanDelArco as Hugh (twenty-seven years after his last appearance in ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'').
** The second season sees Creator/WhoopiGoldberg, Creator/JohnDeLancie, and Creator/WilWheaton reprise their respective roles as Guinan, Q, and Wesley Crusher.
** The episode "Watcher" has Kirk R. Thatcher reprise his iconic role of Punk on Bus, 36 years after ''Film/StarTrekIVTheVoyageHome''.
** The third and final season features the respective returns of Creator/LevarBurton as Geordi La Forge, Creator/MichaelDorn as Worf, and Creator/GatesMcFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher, rounding out the core ''Star Trek: The Next Generation'' cast.

** Creator/NicholasCourtney was a regular on the show as Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart from 1968 to 1975, and subsequently made three return appearances in "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS20E3MawdrynUndead Mawdryn Undead]]" (1983), "[[Recap/DoctorWho20thASTheFiveDoctors The Five Doctors]]"(1983) and "[[Recap/DoctorWhoS26E1Battlefield Battlefield]]" (1989).

* ''Series/GossipGirl2021'' Creator/KristenBell returned as Gossip Girl's voice in voiceover. In terms of people seen on-screen, Creator/WallaceShawn and Margaret Colin returned as Blair's stepfather and mother. Creator/MichelleTrachtenberg also reprised her role of Super-AlphaBitch Georgina Sparks.

* ''Series/{{Arrowverse}}'':
** ''Series/TheFlash2014'' reboot has Creator/MarkHamill reprising his role as the Trickster from the [[Series/TheFlash1990 1990 live-action show]] and ''[[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Justice League Unlimited]]'', while Amanda Pays reprises her role as Tina [=McGee=]. Vito D'Ambrosio also returns as Bellows, though this time, the character is the mayor, not a cop ("Elongated Journey into Night" later establishes that he ''used'' to be a cop). Additionally, the Season 3 premiere, [[Recap/TheFlash2014S3E1Flashpoint "Flashpoint"]], sees Creator/AlexDesert reprise the role of Julio Mendez.

*** Mark Hamill also plays the Trickster of Earth-3, who is clearly an {{Expy}} of ComicBook/TheJoker. Hamill is well-known for voicing the Joker in animated series.

*** An interesting case with Creator/JohnWesleyShipp, who played Barry Allen in the 90's show. In the 2014 show, he plays Henry Allen, Barry's dad. He later also plays Jay Garrick, the Flash of Earth-3, making it the second time Shipp has played a Flash (albeit a different one). A clip from the 90's show is also shown at one point, implying that the universe of the 90's show exists in the 2014 show's [[TheMultiverse multiverse]]. Later it's revealed that this show takes place in Earth-90, and he once again plays the role of the 90s Barry Allen for the ''Series/{{Elseworlds}}'' crossover.
** The 2019 ''Series/{{Crisis on Infinite Earths|2019}}'' crossover has some doozies, as its premise of a Multiverse-threatening event allows multiple past DC adaptations from various continuities to be revisited. In addition to cameos from characters featured in modern DC shows like ''Series/{{Titans|2018}}'', ''Series/DoomPatrol2019'', ''Series/SwampThing2019'', ''Series/{{Stargirl 2020}}'' and even ''Series/{{Lucifer}}'', we have:

* Creator/JohnHurt, who played Quentin Crisp in the 1975 [[Creator/TheBBC BBC]] biopic ''The Naked Civil Servant'', reprised the role in the 2010 Creator/{{ITV}} sequel ''An Englishman in New York'' ... which opens in 1975, with Crisp gaining new fame in the wake of the BBC film.

* Creator/WilliamSadler actually played TheGrimReaper first in an obscure comedy sketch show called ''Assaulted Nuts''. Then came the more famous portrayal in ''[[Film/BillAndTed Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey]]'', after which he played the Grim Reaper for a third time in the ''Series/TalesFromTheCrypt'' episode ''The Assassin'', this time as co-host with the Crypt Keeper.

* It's fairly common for past ''Franchise/KamenRider'' characters to return in crossover movies and anniversary specials, though this is often done via {{Fake Shemp}}s since many of the actors have moved on to other projects. The ''Series/KamenRiderGaim'' film ''Kamen Rider Taisen'' is a notable exception, since it featured Creator/HiroshiFujioka reprising his role as the original ''Series/KamenRider'' from way back in 1971, as well as Ryo Hayami reprising his role as Series/KamenRiderX and Shun Sugata reprising his role as [[Film/BirthOfTheTenthGatherAllKamenRiders Kamen Rider ZX]]. A number of the actors from more recent productions like ''Series/KamenRiderFaiz'', ''Series/KamenRiderDecade'', ''Series/KamenRiderW'', and ''Series/KamenRiderWizard'' returned as well.

** Creator/RobertLlewellyn reprised his role as Kryten in the two American pilot episodes.

* ''Series/Frasier2023'' sees Creator/KelseyGrammer return as the titular Frasier Crane since the original ''Series/{{Frasier}}'' ended in 2004.
