** Mr. Yotsuya from ''Manga/MaisonIkkoku'' looks almost identical to Tadayasu Sekoi from Takahashi's somewhat obscure SpyFiction manga series titled ''Dust Spot!!'' from 1979[[note]]it ran for only 5 chapters, and was released in the U.S. by Creator/VizMedia under the alternate title ''Wasted Minds'' as part of the 2nd volume of their ''Rumic World Trilogy'' collection; you might occasionally see its Japanese title transliterated as ''Dust Spurt!!'' instead[[/note]]. (Sekoi is the boss of two secret agents, named Tamuro Gomi and Yura Enjoji, who are the main characters of the series.)

** [[Anime/PonyoOnTheCliffByTheSea Sosuke]] - The Mei to Conan's Satsuki, a caricature [[WriteWhoYouKnow based on Hayao Miyazaki's own son Goro Miyazaki when he was younger]]. A much older Sosuke starred as Mahito in ''Anime/TheBoyAndTheHeron''.

** [[Anime/FutureBoyConan Lepka]], the square-jawed megalomaniac BigBad, also had a role as [[Anime/TheCastleofCagliostro Count Cagliostro]]. Strangely, [[Anime/CastleInTheSky Muska] seems to be a fusion between Lepka and Tatsuo character design-wise.

** [[Anime/MyNeighborTotoro Tatsuo]], Satsuki and Mei's father, a tall bespectacled man who somewhat [[AuthorAvatar resembles a younger Hayao Miyazaki]]. He also appeared as [[Anime/KikisDeliveryService Kokino, Kiki's father]], as [[Anime/CastleInTheSky Muska]] (albeit with blond hair, shades instead of standard eyeglasses, [[PlayingAgainstType and a rare villain role]]), and as [[Anime/TheWindRises Jiro]] (looking a bit younger than the usual Tatsuo role, [[PlayingAgainstType and being the main lead this time]]). He usually plays father figures.

** [[Anime/FutureBoyConan Lana]] - The female lead in nearly all of Miyazaki's works; she stars (via various "ages") as Manga/{{Nausicaa|OfTheValleyOfTheWind}}, Anime/{{Kiki|sDeliveryService}}, [[Anime/PrincessMononoke San]], [[Anime/CastleInTheSky Sheeta]], [[Anime/MyNeighborTotoro Satsuki]], [[Anime/TheCastleOfCagliostro Clarisse]], [[Anime/HowlsMovingCastle Sophie]], and [[Anime/TheBoyAndTheHeron Lady Himi]], as well as nearly every major female role in anything else Miyazaki has done.

He has played (again, through various physical ages): [[Manga/NausicaaOfTheValleyOfTheWind Asbel]], [[Anime/CastleInTheSky Pazu]], [[Anime/PrincessMononoke Ashitaka]], [[Anime/HowlsMovingCastle Howl]], [[Anime/KikisDeliveryService Tombo]], [[Anime/SpiritedAway Haku]]; it should be noted that his face is often given more attention to the "harshness" or "softness" of its appearance than Lana's, so as to befit his current character more.

** [[Anime/SpiritedAway Yubaba]] - A relative newcomer to the Miyazaki gallery, she seems to always be represented as a witch with an extremely large head. She also appeared in ''Howl's Moving Castle''.
** [[Anime/CastleInTheSky Charles]] - A fairly regular comic-relief character; most notably appeared as one of the Ironworks' men in ''Princess Mononoke'', aside from his supporting role in ''Castle in the Sky''. He get a starring role in ''Porco Rosso'' as Curtis.
