In Russia, Omega Red is freed from his frozen state and offered a deal by the American government: help retrieve a sunken nuclear submarine in exchange for being turned human again. Omega insists that Wolverine and Storm accompany him. The X-Men agree to the mission. On the way to the submarine, tensions are kept under control. Storm struggles with claustrophobia but remains calm. Once inside the sub, Omega turns against the X-Men, planning to launch nuclear missiles worldwide. The toxic environment prevents the X-Men from fighting back. Beast and Rogue arrive in the Blackbird and drop depth charges to hinder the sub. Omega arms the missiles, but Beast destroys them. Rogue confronts Omega, defeating him. The X-Men are rescued, while Omega remains trapped with the non-launchable missiles.
