Kurt's clowning and Scott's seriousness result in a fight which ends with Kurt teleporting away. Then an accident with a strange machine lands Kurt in an alternate dimension with company--another mutant named Forge who has been trapped there for decades. Can the pair find a way to get back to their own world?

One day, Kurt's clowning and childish behavior clashes with Scott's dead seriousness result in once too often. Later, Kurt (in his true form) accidentally activates a fight device which ends with Kurt teleporting away. Then an accident with transfers him to a strange machine lands Kurt in an alternate dimension with company--another mutant named Forge parallel dimension. There, he meets Forge, who has had been trapped there for decades. Can since the pair find late seventies, and together, they devise a way plan to get back break out and return to their own world?normal dimension. Things get complicated when the other X-Men discover the device and the Brotherhood then tries to steal it from them.
