In the fight, Paul destroys a scarab amulet to free the soul of Shazam's previous champion from Black Adam, then exposes himself and Adam to a "magic powder" (including LSD) prepared by Constantine. This results in the three of them ending up in a mental plane, where Theodore Adam and Teth Adom have to prove their worthiness to the Kahndaqi gods, with the loser getting their soul eaten by Ammut. Paul advises Teth Adom on what to do and the latter succeeds in taking over Theodore Adam's body.
