Meanwhile, at the school newspaper, Nish (Chastity Dotson) is looking through Veronica's portfolio while talking on the phone. She hangs up and compliments Veronica's photographs, particularly one of a cheerleader trying to fix her underwear; Veronica grins at the memory because the cheerleader TP'd her house in high school. Veronica is glad to get the opportunity at the paper, as the only alternative financial aid offered was [[BrickJoke working at the library]]. Nish shows Veronica a poster advertising Zeta Theta, and wants Veronica to pretend to rush the sorority so she can write an expose and confirm [[ChekhovsGun some of the rumors she's been hearing about the sorority]]. Veronica doesn't think she'd fit in, but Nish assures her she looks the part. She gives Veronica an invitation to a social that coming Saturday, where "tasteful floral dresses" are the dress code. Veronica still isn't convinced until Nish brings up a secret room where they allegedly make the girls strip in front of a two-way mirror while the fraternity guys watch, and she thinks this might have happened to Parker. Veronica says she'll do it.

Later, as "[[{{Gigi}} Thank Heaven for Little Girls]]" plays, Veronica heads over to the Zeta Theta party. Inside, a group of girls start singing Music/CyndiLauper's "True Colors" as Hallie (Keri Lynn Pratt) excitedly greets Veronica. She gives Veronica a name tag and another girl, Shania (Robyn Richards), asks for Veronica's purse, and says all will be explained later. Veronica puts on a smile, [[InnerMonologue but inside, she can't wait to leave]]. Hallie offers Veronica a glass of lemonade, and she and Shania start gushing about the sorority. Marjorie (Rachel Lefevre) offers her a drink. She turns down Veronica's request for alcohol (against the rules), but steers Veronica away from the choir (which are now doing the sorority theme song, to the tune of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot"), which she thinks will curb Veronica's desire for alcohol. Marjorie also admits Shania can be a bit much. Karen (Mary Chris Wall) comes over and gently chides Marjorie for saying this, and Marjorie introduces her as the sorority's den mother.

In Parker and Mac's room, Parker, wearing a bad wig her mother picked out, gives Mac the number where she can be reached at. [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Mac earnestly pleads for Parker not to leave, and tells her she'll have her back. Moved, Parker hugs her]].

Meanwhile, Dr. Kinny leads Wallace, Logan and several other students, including Julia (Delilah Andre) and Omar (Jonathan Halyalkar), a couple, to an unused dorm wing. He calls for the students whose social security numbers end in an even number, and they (including Wallace and Julia) step forward; they are the guards, and the other students are the prisoners. The rules are as follows; sleep deprivation is fine, but no physical abuse, and prisoners must have a certain amount of food per day (and one of the guards has to test it to make sure it's edible), but aren't allowed watches or any forms of communication (cell phones, computers). While he describes the rules, the "prisoners" get into striped shirts, while the "guards" wear green combat shirts. Wallace and Logan decide to make a SideBet; loser has to streak across campus. Dr. Kinny calls the prisoners over and his TA shows them an address (116th Street and Jamison Boulevard) where a "bomb" is located. He then tells the guards they have 48 hours (till 6:02 pm Sunday) to find out where the "bomb" is, and if the prisoners want the experiment to end, all they have to do is give up the location. He leaves (while the TA observes), and Rafe (Rider Strong), one of the guards, orders the prisoners to their cell. As Omar is about to settle in one of the beds, Rafe orders the mattresses to be taken away, and even orders all of their books to be taken away so they can't study (Julia apologizes to Omar about this). Samuel (Samm Levine), one of the prisoners, wants to go to the bathroom, but Rafe decides they should all go together three times a day and eight hours apart. He tears into Samuel (especially when he discovers his last name is "[[WelcomeBackKotter Horshack]]", and storms off. When he and Wallace are outside, Wallace calls him on his remarks (especially for calling Samuel "the Jew"), but Rafe laughs and says he's only playing the part so they can all leave.
