The rookies undergo Plain Clothes Day where they are expected to be able to handle all of the calls with their [=TOs=] not assisting in any way. West is exceptionally eager to break his father's record but Ortega keeps him grounded in paperwork in order to teach him humility.
Nolan is interested in becoming a detective by the time he's fifty and ends up ignoring a woman who turns out to have been stalked by her psychotic ex-husband. Chen, meanwhile, finds a sex offender filming a teenage girl through a window and screws up when she leaves behind his van that contains a large amount of evidence.
