Slimer starts attacking and mocking the squid entity, thinking it's Dweeb, but then realises it isn't and flies away. Meanwhile, the slime on the Ghostbusters' uniforms comes to life and laughs, and Egon realises that's what's making the car fly, so he tells them to get rid of everything that has slime on it (which includes their uniforms). While Winston and Peter board the Ecto-2, while Dweeb again tries to catch Slimer, this time with some guns called "magnetic flux devices". He accidentally hits the squid entity instead, causing it to slime him and fly off.

Slimer is reading a comic book called ''Rat Toon'' and wants to share a funny part with Ray, but he's too busy practicing the tuba. Slimer tries to show Peter, but he's too busy exercising, so Slimer tries to show Janine, but she's too busy doing paperwork. He tries to show Winston, but he's too busy working on Ecto-1, so Slimer tries to show Egon despite the "keep out" sign on the door to his lab. However, he accidentally startles him into blowing up the volatile ectoplasm samples he was working with. Peter tells Slimer that he'll be "sorry" if he interrupts them again, causing him to fly into the attic crying.

The Ghostbusters get a call and ask Slimer if he wants to accompany them, but he's too sulky. The guys find a squid-like apparition haunting a retirement home. They try to catch it, but it escapes and sprays them with ectoplasm. Meanwhile, Slimer is eating an ice cream sundae, when he hears footsteps and sees someone behind him. He tries calling the Ecto-1's car phone to warn the Ghostbusters of the intruder, but hangs up before he can say anything, remembering Peter's warning.

The intruder turns out to be Dweeb, with Elizabeth hiding in his outfit, and he tries to catch Slimer with a "twisto ray", which twists up whatever it hits. Slimer uses a mirror to deflect the ray's beam back to Dweeb, and he's spun back into his car. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters are going home, but Egon is worried because the squid apparition is not in Tobin's Spirit Guide. Then, they get called to a bowling alley where the squid entity almost crushes the guys with falling signs and then steals their proton packs.

Dweeb and Elizabeth sneak back into the firehouse with a ladder, then he catches Slimer with a clamp. Dweeb is about to put Slimer in a case to carry away, but he drinks a lot of water, making him bigger and thus breaking the clamp. Then he spits the water onto both Dweeb and the invention, making it short out and suck up Elizabeth and making his rocket shoes wonk out, sending him spiralling out of control. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters run away, shooting at the squid apparition all the while, and while they do manage to blow it up, it reassembles itself immediately afterwards.

While Ecto-1 slows down inexplicably, Slimer sets up strings with pots and pans. Then, Egon determines that the squid entity is not a ghost, but rather an entity created from the anger of the ghosts in the containment unit, and that it wants to destroy the firehouse. Peter tries to call the firehouse and warn Slimer, but he's too busy listening to jokes. When the squid entity sets off the pots and pans, Slimer thinks it's Dweeb again, then the Ecto-1 starts flying.

When Winston, Peter, and Slimer meet up, Slimer warns them of the squid creature, but they of course already know. Peter has Slimer lure the entity to the staircase, and then the three of them trap the squid monster. Ray and Egon come back and are shocked at the mess.
