Polina wants to finally befriend the other interns, and needs Rita's help. Rita suggests her a simple plan: just organise some an alcoholic fest for everyone; this works nearly every time. Since Polina has no money to buy her own booze, Rita suggests to ask Kupitman for help. Kupitman agrees to help Polina -- if she would take some of his patients. But once she does her work, he reveals that she completely misunderstood him; that cognac would be gifted not by him, but by the patients -- this is how Kupitman always receives it. Unfortunately, she has only three patients left. She tries to obtain cognac from one of them, but fails, with the last one complaining to Kisegach about her extorting alcohol from him. However, Kisegach remembers how she had a similar problem when she just became a Chief Doctor, and reluctantly agrees to help, by providing Polina some of her own stock. Meanwhile, Kupitman realises that all of his cognac was stolen -- and Polina is the obvious first suspect. But after talking with polina, he learns that it was actually Kisegach who stole it: she needed something for a delegation which would arrive tomorrow. Kupitman feels betrayed, and "compensates" from Polina's booze, taking all the good beverages, leaving only the cheap booze which he doesn't want. However, Rita takes pity at her, and helps her throw a party, which everyone actually likes.

Phil's patient vehemently refuses the operation out of fear that something would go wrong, because he is deadly unlucky. Phil, knowing that he can't deal with situation by himself, asks Gelb for help. His role is to "prove" to the guy that he's not as unlucky as he thinks. Of course, they rigs all "tests" in patient's favour. This ultimately leads to patient believing that he may actually defeat his "curse". Then he drops his phone, causing Phil himself to start doubting wether everything would go as fine as they claim. The patient indeed runs into problems when the operation actually started, and Phil quickly jumps into conclusion that he just sent the guy to his doom, about which he tells to Bykov. But when Bykov checks, turns out that the operation was for different patient -- Phil's patient is actually fine -- despite everything seemingly going wrong since the start. The patient now believes that it's the luckiest day of his life, not knowing that his surgeon forgot a tampon inside him.

Semyon's patient, Karina, is a very rich, and very haughty bitch, who insists on being treated with respect she "deserves" -- without showing any to anyone else. They quickly becomes enemies, with patient calling her boyfriend Alyosha to "deal" with Semyon. Failing to deal with the problem by himself, Lobanov asks Bykov to help with kicking Karina out, but Bykov refuses, stating that he considers Karina to be cute, calm woman towards whom he feels nothing but sympathy. Semyon explains the situation, but Bykov still refuses, stating that he has conflicts with the VIP patients, he solves them himself, without involving other people. When Alyosha finally arrives, he turns out to be much more reasonable than Karina, and explains that she acts like this to everyone (he actually agrees with most of what Semyon had said about her). He suggests Lobanov to just apologise: if Semyon would tolerate her for just one more day, Alyosha would take her away to Germany, and Semyon would never see her again. He would also offers him some good money, after which Lobanov agrees. Seeing how humble Lobanov has became, Bykov and Romanenko decides that something is wrong, and came to conclusion that he was scared into compliance. They decides to "help" him by calling one of Bykov's very top-caliber friends, which saves Semyon from his patient, but also prevents him from earning easy money.

* BornUnlucky: Phil's patient is very unlucky since the day he was born (May, 13th,The month where he was born bears special meaning, too, since the word "May" in Russian sounds similar to Russian word for "toil", which is the course of common superstition about people born in May being unlucky on Monday). He was also born cord-wrapped (another negative superstition). He only learned to walk in three years... and once he tried, he immediately fell and broke his arm. It only became worse from here, and he had several bad omens just yesterday: when he was transported in ambulance, it went into a road accident; then he was dropped from a gurney; then his elevator "accidentally" stopped right across the morgue. He is deadly certain that operation which Phil suggests him, with 99% success rate, would go wrong for him as well. Phil suggests to talk with a psychologist about it. Predictably, they fails to catch him before he leaved. His bad luck doesn't end here, either...

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Polina's plot of this episode is her attempting to finally end her status as an outcast, by befriending the other interns who acts very hostile to her since day one.

to:

* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Polina's attempts to get booze always ends with some issues.
** She tries to borrow some from Kupitman, but he asks her to work for him in return... and only then reveals that she was supposed to receive cognac from the patients, as the "tips", like Kupitman does that himself; by that point, she has only three patients left.
** She tries to hint her patients. First one says that he quit drinking due to cognac being the source of his troubles. Second one misses the obvious hint and thinks that she's insulting him. She asks the third one directly, but he thinks that she's extorting him, and complaints to Kisegach.
** Kisegach sympathises with Polina, and gives her some of her own supplies. Then she needs some booze for her own needs, and borrows it from Kupitman, who gets angry and "compensates" by taking away all good stuff from what Polina has prepared, leaving her with cheap crap which not even Kupitman would drink. Fortunately, it's when Rita takes pity at her, and helps her with throwing a party.

Polina wants to finally befriend other interns, and needs Rita's help. Rita suggested her simple plan: just organise some boozefest for everyone; this works nearly always. Since Polina has no money to buy her own, Rita suggested to ask Kupitman for help.

Phil's patient vehemently refuses operation out of fear what something would went wrong, because he is deadly unlucky.

Semyon's patient, Karina, is very, very haughty RichBitch who insists on being treated with respect she "deserves" -- without showing any to anyone else. They quickly become enemies, with patient calling her boyfriend Alyosha to "deal" with Semyon.

Kupitman agreed to help Polina -- if she would take some of his patients... but once she did her work, he revealed what she completely misunderstood him; that cognac would be gifted not by him, but by patients -- this is how Kupitman always receives it, as would Polina. Unfortunately, theres only three patients left, so she has last three chances to acquire it.

Failing to deal with his patient by himself, Lobanov asked Bykov to help to kick her out -- and was refused; Bykov stated what he considers her to be cute, calm woman towards whom he feels only sympathy. When Semyon explained situation, Bykov still refused to help, stating what when he has conflicts with VIP clients, he solves them himself, without involving other people.

Polina completely failed to obtain cognac -- with last patient complaining to Kisegach about her extorting alcohol from him, but Kisegach (remembering how she had a similar problem when she just became Chief Doctor) reluctantly agreed to help her, and provided her with some from her own stock.

Alyosha finally arrived into the hospital. He turns out to be much more reasonable than his girlfriend. He explained what she acts like this to everyone (and he actually agrees with most of what Semyon said about her), and suggested to apology; if Lobanov would tolerate her for just one day more, he would take her away to Germany and Semyon would never see her again. Semyon reluctantly agreed when promised some money (very good for someone like him).

Phil, knowing what he can't deal with situation by himself, asked Gleb for help. His role is to "prove" to the guy what he is not that unlucky as he thinks. Of course, they rigged all "tests" in patient's favour. This ultimately caused patient to believe what he may actually defeat his "curse". Then he dropped his phone, causing Phil himself to start doubting wether everything would go fine.

Kupitman suddenly realises what all his cognac was stolen! Of course, Polina is first suspect. Polina tell him about Kisegach, and suggested to check himself. And... as it turns out, it was Kisegach who stoled all his cognac, because she needs something for delegation which would arrive tomorrow. Kupitman still thinks this was betrayal from her part. He apologised to Polina... and took away that good cognac which Kisegach gifted her with (and which she already promised to other interns), leaving her with cheap one he no longer wants.

Phil's patient immediately went into problems once operation actually started, and Phil quickly jumped into conclusion what he just sent him to his doom, about which he tell to Bykov. But once Bykov checked out, it turns out what not only operation ended in success -- it was operation on completely different patient.

Bykov and Gleb considered Semyon suddenly becoming humble servant of his patient to be suspicious, and came to conclusion he must been scared into compliance, and "helped" him by calling one of Bykov's very top caliber friends. This saved Semyon from his patient -- but also prevented him from earning easy money.

Phil's patient, despite all things what gone wrong, survived his operation (still believing it to be his luckiest day ever), though it seems his surgeon "forgot" tampon inside him.

Meanwhile, with Rita's help, Polina manages to organise party for her new friends, finally ending their quarrel.

While Bykov often comes into conflict with VIP clients, he deals with his problems by himself, unlike Semyon.

When his patient finally arrived, Phil took him as visitor from other side (patient's specific wording didn't help), and started apologising. He only realised his mistake when guy mentioned lavement.

* DirtyCoward: When Lobanov explained explains why he needs Bykov's help with his patient, Bykov refused refuses to help, since he considers Lobanov to be this: he started conflict stating that when Bykov goes into conflicts with VIP patient thinking what he may dominate her, but once this failed, he tried to hide behind Bykov's back. While Bykov often comes into conflict with VIP clients, patients, he deals with his problems by himself, unlike them on his own, without bringing other people, and so must Semyon.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* BornUnlucky: Phil's patient is very unlucky since the day he was born (May, 13thMonth where he was born bears special meaning, too, since word "May" in Russian sounds similar to Russian word for "toil", which created common superstition about people born in May, on Monday). He was also born cord-wrapped (another negative superstition). He only learned to walk in three years... and once he tried, he immediately fell and broke his arm. It only become worse from here, and he had several bad omens just yesterday: when he was transported in ambulance, it went into car accident; then he was dropped from gurney; then his elevator "accidentally" stopped right across morgue. He is deadly certain operation Phil suggests him, with 99% success rate, would go wrong for him, as well. Phil suggested to talk with psychologist about it.
