Now, Kupitman thinks that it's Bykov who's coward, as he was aware that the gun is empty, while Kupitman almost shot himself without knowing it. Bykov suddenly gets confronted by suspiciously looking guy, in whom he recognised someone called Avdeev. Avdeev calls him "asshole" and puts a gun at him. Turns out, some time ago Bykov caused him being hospitalised in psychiatric clinic, where he spent half a year -- forever ruining his life, because no one would want to deal with "psycho". But suddenly Avdeev has heart attack (about which Bykov tried to warn him, knowing about his medical condition due to being his former doctor), and now requires help himself.
Alexei still tries to win Sophia through his weird scheme which involved making her envy of his "relationship" with Rita. Rita, who expected what this would become ''real'' relationship, decided what she is tired of this and must just dump Lyosha already (idea which Lyuba supports).
After girl with whom he just spent night recognised his room (starting from sound of his alarm and ending with sounds his bed made), Phil started suspecting what Gleb might using ''his'' room for sex while he's on night shifts; he is certainly not okay with this. But Gleb claims what he is innocent.
Rita dumped Alexei, just as she promised. She not even cares about "good excuse" anymore (Alexei tried to use this as defence).
Bykov took away Avdeev's revolver, and invited Kupitman to play Russian Roulette. Kupitman initially refused, but changed his mind at last moment when called "chicken".
Alexei looked so sad over breaking up with Rita, what Sophia tried to comfort him. Lyosha realised what this may be his chance. He just needs Rita's cooperation; she only needs to confirm everything what Sophia would ask about him.

To "prove" what he is wrong, Bykov suggested to steal the gun back from Kisegach, and try again. He actually almost shot himself, and only survived because he backed out at very last moment and decided to shoot Kupitman's booze stash instead.
* OhCrap: Kisegach checked locker in her table to make sure what gun she took away from Bykov is still here... and didn't find it. She run to Kupitman's office in panic -- and midway heard sound of gunshot and Kupitman's crying, meaning she's too late. Fortunately, turns out what Bykov shot not himself, but Kupitman's cognac collection.
* RecklessGunUsage:
** When Kisegach tried to take the gun away from Bykov, she tried to forcedly tear it out of Bykov's hand, despite it supposedly being loaded ''and pointed at Kupitman''.
** {{Subverted|Trope}} with Bykov; while he ''did'' unload the gun even before visiting Kupitman in the first place, him pointing it around and clicking at himself, Kupitman and even Kisegach is still a safety violation.
* RussianRoulette: Entire premise of Bykov's plot; he obtained the gun from his deranged old patient, and tried to force Kupitman into playing with him. After Kisegach prohibited him from doing so and confiscated the gun... he just stole it and resumed. Eventually, gun ''did'' fire, but Bykov survived because he decided to point it not to his head but to the cabinet with Kupitman's cognac.
* SarcasmBlind: When Sophia started "pitying" Alexei, and even suggested to kiss him or, better, let him touch her breast, he completely missed obvious sarcasm in her voice and actually tried to grab her; after that she called him out on his bullshit and forced him to left her alone -- and to apologise before Rita.
* ShoutOut: Gleb's "theory" how Phil could have already invite that girl and just forgot about it was illustrated by scene taken directly from ''Film/OperationYAndShuriksOtherAdventures'' (that one where Shurik looked into girl's conspectus over her shoulder). Phil dismissed this theory as ridiculous; he also [[PopCulturalOsmosisFailure failed to recognise]] either the movie from which it was taken, or even the name of its director.
* SlasherSmile: Bykov's smile when he makes first shot in his RussianRoulette game with Kupitman (gun didn't fire, obviously) is outright maniacal.
* ThatWasNotADream: Only when Gleb revealed the story how he leaved the girl dressed as fairy back in the past Halloween in his room (which also explains why the girl has only sketchy memory of Phil's room besides the part what she was here, once), Phil realised what the dream about him having sex with fairy was... not a dream at all.
* TooDumbToLive: Bykov, of all people. He took the the revolver from his former patient Avdeev (which he tried to use against him; emphasis on "[[BigBadWannabe tried]]") for himself, and then suggested to Kupitman to play RussianRoulette (Kupitman was not exactly motivated to participate, to say the least, and was only convinced when Bykov called him "[[NobodyCallsMeChicken coward]]"); it turns out what he never loaded the gun with the bullet, though. He continued doing this even after being directly prohibited by Kisegach (this time with loaded one), and ultimately gun ''did'' fire, with Bykov ''only'' surviving because he at the last moment decided to point the gun not to his head, but to the cabinet with Kupitman's cognac.
* {{Troll}}: If you suspected what something is fishy with Bykov so openly trying to shoot himself in the head, then you were right; gun was not loaded. Bykov did this just to mock Kupitman, whom he considers to be a coward.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We never learned what happened to Avdeev ''after'' his ill-fated attempt to attack Bykov, not even wether he survived his heart attack or not.
