[[Recap/TheAmericansS5E12TheWorldCouncilOfChurches When Philip and Elizabeth get to Alexei and Evgheniya's home]], and Alexei and Evgheniya invite them in (after just coming home), they discover Pascha unconscious and bleeding. Philip calls 911, and the paramedics manage to save Pascha. Guilt-ridden, Evgheniya promises to take Pascha back to the Soviet Union, but Alexei is too afraid to go back. Elizabeth and Philip aren't happy with how things turned out, and tell Claudia to ask the Centre to make sure Alexei can go back to the Soviet Union with his family without any repercussions, but Claudia isn't convinced. Elizabeth (and Philip) and Tuan also argue with each other over how the mission was handled. Elizabeth and Philip also continue to talk about going back to the Soviet Union - even going as far as telling Henry he's not going to get to go to St. Edward's after all - but when Philip gets a tape from Kimmy's father that indicates the father's been promoted to head of the Soviet division at the CIA, Elizabeth can't bring herself to leave. She does, however, tell Philip he should quit, and she can take over doing their job on her own.

* BrutalHonesty: Elizabeth and Tuan do this to each other - Tuan when he tells Elizabeth she and Philip aren't cut out for the work because they're too sentimental about things like Pascha's fake suicide attempt, while Elizabeth tells Tuan he isn't cut out for their line of work, period, not least of which because he insists on [[IWorkAlone working by himself]].
