The Turtles and Shredder's army search for Karai.

* GenreSavvy: Ivan Steranko knows that Karai has been mutated and figures he can use her to get Shredder to help him escape New York. He becomes GenreBlind for allowing Shredder to figure out he was behind the theft of The Kuro Kabuto; and not realizing Shredder would not forgive that crime.

* ShoutOut: Zeck continues to pour on the Creator/MichaelJackson moves.

* TonightSomeoneDies: Well, not "dies", exactly, but promos for this episode reveal that someone mutates in this episode. [[spoiler: It's Zeck and Steranko who are mutated and become Bebop and Rocksteady.]]

* AintTooProudToBeg: Both Steranko and Anton Zeck whine, plead, and beg as they are tossed into The Mutagen vat.

** [[InvokedTrope Xever and Bradford are about to fight each other when Xever tries to pull a fast one on Bradford to get all the credit for bringing Karai back]], but they're immediately interrupted when Zeck snatches Karai and steals Xever's bike.

** However despite the fact that they have been reduced to eating cockroaches and ketchup; Steranko and Zeck do not appear to be malnourished at all. Steranko is as big as ever, and Zeck is still full of energy. They also put up a decent fight against the turtles and The Foot. Something that would be very difficult to do on an empty stomach.

** At one point Raph tells Anton Zeck that "1987 called, they want their jumpsuit back." This is most likely a reference to the original TMMT Cartoon Series which first aired that year.
** Steranko and Zeck become Bebop and Rocksteady, the original Shredder's henchmen.

* {{Flanderization:}} Steranko's being Russian.

* MythologyGag: The survailence equipment Donnie uses to look for Karai look a lot like his headset from [[Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2014 the 2014 movie]].

* HumanShield: Well, snake-mutant shield. Steranko uses Karai as a shield/attack dog when fighting Bradford at the end. Rahzawr formerly known as Dogpound, formerly known as Chris Bradford, calls him out as a DirtyCoward.

* IndyPloy: Rahzawr and Fish Face follow the turtles, knowing they will be able find Karai. Anton Zeck ambushes them immediately afterwards, kidnaps Karai, and steals Fishface's motorcycle.

* CrazyPrepared: Pretty much everybody in this show, Ivan Steranko especially qualifies in this episode because he walks around carrying an arsenal. Rahzawr and Fish Face qualify because they follow the turtles, knowing they will be able to find Karai faster that way. Anton Zeck is then able to steal Karai and a motorcycle right from under their noses. The last two qualify more as an IndyPloy.
