* TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: After their attempts to break the Justice League out of their containment pods all end in failure and a necessary time-rewind, Robin suggests that they just leave the pods there for another superhero to save. Cyborg is upset, because it means the League will never know his role in saving them and ask him to join them, but Robin states that he'll become a proper League member some day (and, as the TimeSkip proves, he's correct).

* HypotheticalFightDebate: Robin claims that Darkseid could beat any other superhero one-on-one, with the other Titans suggesting fights. The exception is when Beast Boy suggests ''ComicBook/SpiderMan'', as Robin just claims there's no way those two would ever fight.

* SelfDeprecation: Cyborg recognizes that Darkseid's sounds like Weird Al, and remarks that there's no way they can take him seriously now. Darkseid (who really is voiced by Weird Al) then goes on a rant about how he respects how evil Weird Al is, purposely plagiarizing other musicians and then mocking them.
* ShoutOut: When Cyborg demonstrates that the Green Lantern power ring has the power to summon anything you can imagine, the first thing he summons is the cast of ''Series/TheGoldenGirls''.

* PeopleJars: Darkseid kept the main five League members he kidnapped in suspended animation containment pods, rigged to drop into the lava when he's defeated or self-destruct when opened.

Cyborg demonstrates claims that the Green Lantern power ring has the power to summon anything you can imagine, but the first only thing he summons is the cast of ''Series/TheGoldenGirls''.''Series/TheGoldenGirls''.
** When the other Titans first learn that their main threat is going to be Darkseid, everyone but Robin asks if they should change their outfits to fit in ''Franchise/StarWars'', mistaking the situation for fighting ''the'' Dark Side.
** Part 2 ends with Cyborg explicitly referencing ''Film/SupermanTheMovie'' when, after defeating Darkseid but accidentally killing a League member when pods either fall into lava or self-destruct, Cyborg races around Apokalypse fast in the opposite direction in order to reverse time.

* TimeSkip: The episode ends with one twenty years later, with Cyborg as a member of the Justice League and the other Titans playing ding-dong ditch with the League's front door.

* WigDressAccent: In order to get past the Hall's security, the Titans break into the closet and dress as superheroes, with Robin being Batman, Raven being Wonder Woman, Beast Boy being Martian Manhunter, Starfire being the Flash, and Cyborg being a Green Lantern.

* PullingTheThreat: The robot security drone in the Hall of Justice almost lets the disguised Titans go, until it realizes that Cyborg states he's "Green Lantern" instead of identifying ''which'' Green Lantern he is.

A two-part special. "special". In Part 1, the Titans invade the Hall of Justice to use the Justice League's pool.pool after Cyborg breaks theirs. In Part 2, the Titans have to rescue the League from Darkseid.

* EvilSoundsRaspy: The Titans are initially intimidated by Darkseid and his gravely voice. When it turns out he just had a sore throat and starts speaking like Music/WeirdAlYankovic, the Titans lose all respect.
* HeroWorshipper: Cyborg admits that he's always wanted to join an upscale superhero team like the Justice League, and acts incredibly awkward when the other Titans force him to take a tour of the Hall while they're there.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Robin spends plenty of time hyped up that today is "special" even though he doesn't quite know why, alluding to how this is a two-part special.

* VocalDissonance: Darkseid's real voice is that of Music/WeirdAlYankovic. Turns out his menacing voice is all because he had a cold.
