* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Zhan Tiri engineered the conflict between Cassandra and Rapunzel in order to free herself from Limbo, but this resulted in a shard of the Moonstone breaking off, which Rapunzel was able to use to briefly reawaken her powers in order to fight her. Additionally, she's defeated by using the aforementioned magical hair to pull her hands apart, so when Rapunzel suddenly cuts it, her wrists, and the Sundrop and Moonstone on them, slam into each other, destroying her with her own strength.

* {{Irony}}: Eugene warns Varian about the possibility that Cassandra may mind-control his father, and though he's not happy about it, Varian takes necessary precautions. Alas, Eugene didn't expect his own father to be mind-controlled as well.

** Cass's betrayal in "Destinies Collide" is retroactively put in a whole new light. Had Rapunzel gone through with combining the power of the Sun Drop with the Moonstone as planned, the result would've been a deadly BOOM! In this episode, we actually see the two powers combined, and Zhan Tiri (who had infused both stones to her wrists) is destroyed. So by stealing the Moonstone, Cass unwittingly saved Rapunzel's life.

* NoOntologicalInertia: After the Moonstone and the Sundrop are destroyed, all the rocks created by them disappear.

* PowerGlows: The glow in Rapunzel and Cassandra's hair disappears after they lose their magic. However, Rapunzel's hair is left at its current length, and she has to cut it later.

* SuicideMission: Securing the plans to build the portal? Fairly Easy. Banishing Zhan Tiri however is hard enough, but doing so requires StormingTheCastle with a Moonstone-powered Cassandra and a mind-controlled Brotherhood to build the device while the demon is within range...and they only have one shot to pull this off. Varian holds no illusions that they are walking into near-certain death doing this.

* VillainHasAPoint: As [[{{Hypocrite}} hypocritical]] as it was, Zhan Tiri makes a good point when saying Cassandra and Gothel were felled by their egos.

This is also another instance of showing that ''Tangled'' (and ''Franchise/{{Frozen}}'') take place on an alternate Earth, as the landmass highly resembles Europe. Corona is also shown to be located where France would be (which makes sense, since Corona is designed after Mont Saint-Michel).

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Played with. Granted Cassandra was no longer a bad guy at this point, Rapunzel mentions something which puts Cass's betrayal in a whole new light. Hypothetically, had Rapunzel gone through with combining the power of the Sun Drop with the Moonstone as planned, there's a possibility the result would've been a potentially deadly BOOM! When we actually see the two powers combined, Zhan Tiri (who had infused both stones to her wrists) is destroyed. So by stealing the Moonstone, Cass unwittingly saved Rapunzel's life.

* KarmaHoudini: {{Downplayed}}. Despite all the trouble and suffering she caused everyone around her in her bid to kill Rapunzel and all she holds dear, Cassandra never faces the consequences of her actions unlike Varian at the end of Season 1. With that said however, she suffers a ''major'' BreakTheHaughty moment, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone breaks down in tears over her terrible actions and begs Rapunzel to give up on her]], and defeats Zhan Tiri alongside Rapunzel, temporarily dying in the process.

* ExposedToTheElements: Rapunzel once again goes barefoot in a snowy area, and once again doesn't show any more discomfort than anyone else. This time, she even went there of her own volition rather than having her balloon shot down, so she could have bundled up beforehand but chose not to.

* WorldHealingWave: Rapunzel creates one when she takes what's left of the Sundrop and the Moonstone and uses the healing incantation once again, to heal what has been hurt by Zhan Titi's WorldWrekingWave.

* WorldHealingWave: Rapunzel creates one when she takes what's left of the Sundrop and the Moonstone and uses the healing incantation once again, to heal what has been hurt by Zhan Titi's WorldWreakingWave.

* BroughtDownToNormal: Rapunzel and Cassandra lose their magic.

Rapunzel's mother helps her realize this, and Rapunzel reminds all the other citizens the same. When Varian realizes there is a way that can help them turn it all around, the heroes make the most of the opportunity.

* ApocalypticLog: Whilst looking through her journal, the entry leading up to Cassandra's betrayal has a drawing of Rapunzel's circle of friends together, including [[DramaticIrony Cass herself]].

* BalefulPolymorph: The Coronans are transformed by the Netherworld and if Varian's theory is correct (which, considering this is Varian, it probably is), a prolonged stay would make it permanent (and may be how Zhan Tiri acquired her demonic form).
