** Cassandra wants to make things right with Rapunzel, but because she did a lot of horrible crimes, people ''will'' understandably attack her or create measures against her. If Varian actually pushed the trigger on the weapon (which was Zhan Tiri’s doing) such a reaction would’ve been expected in any case.
** While it would be easy to label either Rapunzel or Cassandra "the bad guy", the girls make it clear that their relationship was a little more complicated than that.
