** Samhain is a Celtic holiday that celebrates the harvest, ''not'' a partially-blind, undead-raising demon that can only surface every six hundred years. This at least isn't completely an invention of the show: there ''was'' a rumor that the holiday was named to celebrate a demon, but it's just anti-pagan slander spread by Christian fundamentalists.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* OurAngelsAreDifferent: UpToEleven. Not kind or merciful, they plan to smite an entire town to kill one witch. Not even devout, either, as Uriel is quick to blaspheme, and Castiel doubts God himself and the morality of his orders. They're dark, deadly, cryptic, and don't worry too much about human life.
