* {{Gasp}}: The whole class lets out a rather shocked gasp when one student in the back falls for Sergeant Roderick's bon bon trick, leading him to be kicked out because of the "no eating" rule.

** After fulfilling many ridiculous demands for Patrick, Squidward is asked one more favor. Foreseeing another annoying task, he pawns off the responsibility to SpongeBob. Patrick then asks SpongeBob if he can help him eat the fifty Krabby Patties he just ordered.

* BaitAndSwitch: At first, it looks like Mr. Krabs and [=SpongeBob=] kidnapped Squidward's mother, threw her in a bag and tried to shove her into the trunk of Mr. Krabs' boat. Then it's revealed that the bag is full of Mr. Krabs' laundry which they were trying to shove into the trunk in order to make room for Mrs. Tentacles in Mr. Krabs' boat.

** Mr. Krabs just expected anyone to just start treating his business as a hotel and everyone wanting service needed to rent a room, when people would still expect the restaurant to be still there, so a guy who only went there for lunch didn't have time for getting a room, and just left.

* {{Irony}}: If customers weren't required to rent rooms to order food, the Krusty Towers would've received better business, as one fish orders a Krabby Patty, but scratches the order after he finds out he has to rent a room to receive food.

* PetTheDog: Squidward invites [=SpongeBob=] to swim with him in the pool added to his hotel room. As [=SpongeBob=] didn't cause Squidward any misery this episode, not to mention fulfilled all of Squidward's requests that helped him get at Mr. Krabs, it makes sense he's friendlier than usual.

** Spongebob performs flawlessly driving while blindfolded, but Roderick and Mr. Fitz obviously do not allow him to do so on the actual test, as doing so is illegal and extremely dangerous.

* TakeThisJobAndShoveIt: When Squidward has enough of dealing with Patick's unreasonable demands and Mr. Krabs forcing abusive rules on him, he quits his job right away, riding the regular elevator down and throwing his uniform into Mr. Krabs' face as he tries to protest.

** To be fair, according to Mr. Krabs the actual pool he got – or made himself, more likely – for the hotel was outside behind the building, which is far more reasonable. Unfortunately, since Squidward [[UnsatisfiableCustomer refused to go outside]] to swim...

* LethalChef: Squidward implies this about Mrs. Tentacles' cookies.

** Making a customer happy is always a priority, but if they start behaving rudely and selfishly, you need to draw the line eventually.
** If you treat your employees poorly, it makes them likely to quit.

** After quitting, Squidward immediately returns as a guest and deliberately puts this into play with many of his demands to Mr. Krabs, such as when he tells his boss to make cookies "just like mother used to make" or when he orders him to completely redo his hotel room several times over; he's only satisfied when they return to the original decor, purely to spite him further. Then there's the part with him ordering a Krabby Patty with cheese, toenail clippings, and nose hair just so he can force Krabs to eat it for a cheap laugh. It finally goes too far when the indoor swimming pool in his room makes the hotel collapse due to his, Patrick's and [=SpongeBob's=] combined weight.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Mr. Krabs makes "We shall never deny a guest, even the most ridiculous request" the Krusty Towers' policy, shooting down Squidward's complains about Patrick's ridiculous and unreasonable requests by reminding him of it and stating that Pat, and by extension any guest they have, can be as unreasonable as they want. This bites him in the ass when Squidward quits, only to immediately return as a guest so he can use Krabs' own policy to torment and spite him. On a lesser note, when Squidward first returns as a guest, Mr. Krabs states he doesn't need to rent Squidward a room, which would have saved him all the pain of dealing with Squidward, but Squidward immediately offers cash and Mr. Krabs is too greedy to say no to it.
