!!Tropes:!!Tropes:
* AbsenteeActor: Niika is completely absent in this episode, only being (directly) mentioned by Xaria at the Necrobase.
* AlmostDeadGuy: Lucidius is this after being thoroughly beaten by Jalkar in the first part of the episode, and gives vital information to Abbigail on where Jalkar and Grim may be heading. This is later subverted as Episode 10 shows that he survived and made his way back to Mount Velgrin.
* AttackBackfire: Zinaida Voltaris is killed when Jalkar uses the former's Aggro-storm ability to throw his knife into the side of Zinaida's head, killing him.
* BigDamnHeroes: Timber comes in to save Senn from a lone Voltaris when Senn was prepared to fight him. The Voltaris in question is instantly killed by Timber.
* ChekhovsGun: The diamond spear that was wielded by a Voltaris on Thalleous, which Thalleous then used to kill said Voltaris, is later used by Tygren to impale Thalleous when he attempts to run away.
* ContinuityNod: The Wither Skeleton Skulls, wielded by the Necromancers, are in fact used to indoctrinate the undead to control them, as shown with the first Necromancer in Episode 3.
* CurbStompCushion: While Jalkar and Grim do come out victorious in their fight against some Voltaris in this episode, these Voltaris certainly didn't go down without a good fight.
* DownerEnding: At the end of this episode, Thalleous has been killed, Tygren takes his sword and Songs, and Senn is forced to flee to get away from the dangers now present in Sendaria, and by proxy, the Ardoni Territories.
* TheDreaded: Grim is referred by Lucidius as "The Reaper", which makes him want to have a non-violent deal with Jalkar and Grim. Zinaida however, is undeterred by this and as a result, he and many others are killed in the ensuing fight.
* DressingAsTheEnemy: Lucan has entered the Necrobase beneath Mount Tempus dressed in the robes of the Necromancer he and Niika incapitated in the previous episode. The disguise works, but Lucan very nearly blows his cover on a few occasions.
* DynamicEntry: Xaria (who's only named in the credits) makes an entrance by doing some acrobatics near Lucan, and lures the nearby undead away from the area.
* EvilVsEvil: This episode features a fight between a group of Volataris against Jalkar and Grim over the Dragon Egg. Jalkar and Grim win.
* EyeLightsOut: This episode is the first to show what happens when an Ardoni is killed. The colour of their markings and eyes fade to black, while any Songs that they were wielding returns to their solid forms right beside them.
* FamousLastWords: From Thalleous to Tygren:
--> I have fought against your kind for two hundred years Tygren. Whatever the Voltaris are planning... I will stop it.
* Foreshadowing: The Unyielding Legion is mentioned for the first time by Jalkar, who needs to find a new buyer for the Dragon Egg after he and Grim kill the original buyers (the Voltaris lead by Zinaida).
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Senn shows these when a lone Voltaris confronts him. Luckily, he doesn't need them thanks to Timber's BigDamnHeroes moment (see above).
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Thalleous is revealed to have hidden the Prime Songs away from the Ardoni Territories during the TimeSkip between Episode 1 and 2, correctly believeing that the Voltaris clan would come for them, and stalling their plans.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: The Voltaris that attacks Thalleous with a diamond spear is later killed with said spear.
* HopeSpot: It seemed very briefly that Thalleous has incapacitated Tygren and is about to escape, though it only lasts until what happens below.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Thalleous is killed when Tygren throws a spear straight through his torso, killing him.
* KilledOffForReal: Thalleous Is killed by Tygren just before the end of the episode, getting rid of one of the few Ardoni who stood in the way of the Voltaris until the season finale.
* LastStand: Thalleous is able to pull off an impressive one after he and Senn are ambushed by the Voltaris in Sendaria, killing several well-trained Voltaris without the use of any Songs and costing them dearly before he's outnumbered. After his venomous talk with Tygren, and when he's surrounded by the Voltaris, he punches the ground with his Aggro-quake ability, stunning several Voltaris, before killing one with his sword and using his Mobili-flash ability to kill another, before engaging with Tygren, which ends with his death.
* MatchCut: The flames of the Necrobase at Mount Tempus are used as we cut to the flaming inferno in Sendaria.
* MercyKill: Averted, Lucidius tells Abbigail to kill him after he's seriously injured during his fight with Jalkar, though Abbigail calmly refuses to do so, only wanting to kno where Jalkar and Grim were headed off to. Lucidius provides her with the information.
* NeverMyFault: Tygren denies being responsible for the burning of Sendaria, stating that Thalleous hiding the Prime Songs lead to him burning large parts of the Ardoni Territories.
--> Tygren: Can you not see? Look... look what you made me do.
* OneManArmy: Thalleous proves himself to be this, killing several well-trained Voltaris and stunning several others during his LastStand.
* OnlySaneMan: Lucidius is only Voltaris who wants to a peaceful resolution to the deal between Jalkar and the Voltaris, knowing how dangerous that Grim is (as proven moments later). Zinaida however, ignores him, and only Lucidius survives the ensuing fight.
* PyrrhicVictory: The Voltaris have killed Thalleous, the only one who was aware of the threat that they were. However, they lost most of their good fighters, and failed to get the Dragon Egg and Prime Songs that they desired. This reflects the VillainousVow that Tygren made to Thalleous in this episode, who clearly wanted some sort of victory from their campaign:
--> Tygren: You won't escape this time old man.
* QualityVsQuantity: The Voltaris, fall victim to this trope both times theu are seen in the episode.
** While against Jalkar and Grim, Zinaida brushes off Jalkar's threat that they are outmatched, since he has the numbers. Jalkar and Grim however, are trained mercenaries, and they kill most of the Voltaris present (Lucidius lives, but is severely injured).
** Tens of Voltaris ambush Thalleous in Sendaria, and most of them are killed or stunned by Thalleous, most of whom were their very best fighters, leaving them vulnerable to future attacks.
* ThePawnsGoFirst: Tygren seems to have little concern for his fellow Voltaris as he orders them to attack Thalleous while he simply stands back. Indeed, it's only after most of the Voltaris present are killed that he bothers to fight Thalleous, and even then he only wins by chance.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: On two occasions, Thalleous throws swords at the Voltaris attacking him, killing them instantly. Unlike most examples of this trope however, the swords do spin while travelling in the air (though they do land in their victims point first).
* WhamEpisode: The first in the entire series. They fight well, but Thalleous is able to knock Tygren back a great distance, and makes a run towards Senn, trying to escape. But just as he's about to reach Senn, Tygren grabs a nearby spear from a fallen Voltaris, and throws it straight through Thalleous, impaling and killing him. Sypnosis: Jalkar and Grim begin to close the deal on the Dragon Egg, but negotiations are tense. Lucan has gone undercover in the mines to find the Necrobase. At Sendaria, Thalleous and Senn return to discover the cause of the destruction.

In Tabora Crags, Jalkar and Grim meet up with a group of Voltaris to negotiate with the dragon egg. The leader, Zinaida, is curt with Jalkar, demanding why he took so much time and asking about Grim, who was not part of the deal. They agree to accept Grim as compensation, but he will not get a share of the reward. Zinaida tells them to hand over the egg, but Jalkar refuses, saying that he'll collect his reward first. As the two mercenaries take out their weapons, Zinaida's second Lucidius tells him that this would be an unwise decision. Zinaida ignores Lucidius and orders the Voltaris to kill Jalkar and Grim.

A fight breaks out between the two groups. Jalkar and Grim are able to take out most of the Voltaris with relative ease, but a problem arises when Zinaida uses his Aggressium song to create a vortex. Jalkar is able to use the vortex to his advantage and spins his knife towards it, stabbing Zinaida and killing him. As Jalkar approaches Zinaida's body, he picks up the Song, noting that it'll sell for a hefty price.
