!!Date Night
The kids help recreate Carrot and Celery's first date.
----
* AffectionateGestureToTheNose: Celery taps Carrot's nose when she recalls that he was a goofball.
* AirQuotes: Jet does this when he asks what a date is.
* ArgumentOfContradictions: As part of the plan, Sean and Sydney pretend to argue with each other, resulting in..
-->'''Sean''': Jupiter is better!
-->'''Sydney''': No, Saturn is!
-->'''Sean''': Jupiter!
-->'''Sydney''': Saturn!
* BreatherEpisode: In regards to the science curriculum, that is. There's a brief lesson on Mimas, but the rest of the episode is pure entertainment.
* InSeriesNickname: Sean lampshades his OOC moment by saying that he's "Mr. Adventure." Sydney later calls Sean this, and Carrot joins in by calling himself "Mr. Not Afraid to Fly in Space."
* InsertSong: The end of the episode has Carrot and Celery sing a duet about their date. It is called "Date Night" in the episode credits, but you might know it better as "Real Bortronian Deal."
* OutOfCharacterAlert: Sean helps recreate Celery and Carrot's anniversary by going with the others to Saturn's moon Mimas. It surprised Jet's parents since they know Sean's always reluctant to go into space.
* PaletteSwappedAlienFood: Bortronian spaghetti is basically just regular spaghetti but purple. The sauce is blue and the meatballs are green.
* ParentalSexualitySquick: A G-rated example. Jet is disgusted at the idea that his parents kissed once. He does join in on recreating their first date, however.
* RunningGag: Sean calling himself 'Mr. Adventure.'
* SelfServingMemory: PlayedForLaughs. Carrot remembers that on his first date with Celery, he was 'smooth.' As Celery remembers it, he was a 'hilarious goofball.'
* SpeakInUnison: Jet assigns Team Propulsion to different jobs to help recreate the date. Then they all say "Yes! We're in!"
* TooMuchInformation: Jet is looking at pictures of Carrot and Celery on their first date. He sees a picture of them about to kiss, and is promptly disgusted. Then, he has this to say:
-->'''Jet''': Woah, okay! This is too much. That's enough, mom and dad!
* VerbalBackspace: When the team is in space, they hover above Io for a bit. Jet struggles to keep the date recreation a surprise.
-->'''Jet''': Not very romantic-I mean, practical, to land there.

!!Face on the Fritz
When the kids are rebuilding Sunspot's pet house, Face 9000 gives out confusing instructions, and he leaves to go get upgraded. Meanwhile, the kids are stuck with an '80s computer.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Subverted. It seems at first like it's going to be one for Face 9000, since he's in the title of the episode but he only appears for three minutes before leaving, and returns at the very end of the episode.
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: Dr. Rafferty tells the kids how programming works by using blocks. When Sean figures out the commands, Dr. Rafferty gives him a headpat.
* AllThereInTheScript: The episode's official PBS description reveals that the old computer is from the 1980s and is called DATA-BOX.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Jet is distracted by an ice cream truck and ends up breaking Sunspot's pet house, setting the episode's plot in motion.
* BaitAndSwitch: When Face 9000 comes back from being upgraded, he acts like he's still on the fritz by saying "Bubblegum, carseat, p-petunias!" then reveals that he's fine now.
* BiggerOnTheInside: Sunspot's new pet house is small on the outside, but on the inside, it's big enough to have an indoor swimming pool.
* FacePalm: Sean facepalms when he learns that Sunspot added an indoor swimming pool to his pet house.
* ForWantOfANail: Jet gets distracted by the ice cream truck and accidentally breaks Sunspot's pet house. The kids consult Face 9000 for instructions on how to build a new pet house, but Face breaks down and has to be repaired, and the kids have to use a bulky PC and learn what programming is. Face 9000 later comes back with an all-new look. In summation, an ice cream truck caused Face 9000's MidSeasonUpgrade.
* IdiotBall: All of the kids become idiots in this episode. While Face gets an upgrade, the kids try to use an old Earth computer. They literally try talking to it instead of taking the simple route of pressing the 'on' button. They're supposed to know how to use computers, given that they are the children of scientists. Cue the rest of the episode talking about coding for no reason.
* InsertSong: Dr. Rafferty sings a song about talking to computers in zeroes and ones.
* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Face's instructions seem to be normal at first, as he lists off wooden boards and a hammer and nail. Then he says that two bananas are required to build a pet house.
* LiteralMinded: Celery doesn't understand why they didn't sell her the garage at a garage sale. She did end up buying an old computer, though.
* MidseasonUpgrade: In this episode, Face gets an upgrade and a new 3D-ish design. Bonus points for it being literally in the middle of the season.
* NonSequitur: Face 9000 keeps spouting nonsensical sentences when he glitches, like "The peanut butter sandwich is made from gorilla hair and ping pong paddles."
* RuleOfThree: The kids try to rebuild the pet house three times by following Face's directions exactly. And each time, the house falls apart.
* SoupIsMedicine: The kids figure out that Face is sick. Sydney suggests giving him chicken noodle soup, but liquid and computers don't exactly mix.
