Several airships arrive at Beacon Academy, the fleet of the kingdom of Atlas under the command of General James Ironwood. Ozpin and Glynda are watching the ships with concern, the airships are bothersome and cast a great shadow over the sleepy school. It's not long before Ironwood himself enters the room, and Glynda storms out. Ozpin expresses his concerns that the ships showing up in a time of peace sends the wrong impression but Ironwood counters with Qrow's past warning, and claims he is only being cautious.
RWBY are in the library, enjoying themselves over a strategy war-game. Yang appears to be winning, as she knocks out half of Ruby's army and knocks Weiss out of the game entirely. Blake doesn't even seem to be paying attention, her olive complexion has paled into the shade of a ghost and she has to be constantly reminded how the game is going. JNPR are nearby, Nora is asleep and Jaune is embroiled in a comic. Sun and Neptune enter the library and greet RWBY warmly, and Neptune flirtatiously introduces himself to Weiss. Blake leaves quietly and heads back to the dorm.
When the group return not long after (Neptune apparently beat all of them), Blake spills her concerns onto the team: that Roman is planning something and will strike again very soon, before the graduation. RWBY agree to stand by Blake, and this cheers her up a little.
However, before they can start thinking of a plan, Ruby remembers she left her board game at the library and rushes out to get it, before bumping into Emerald Sustrai, Mercury Black, and Cinder Fall. Cinder claims that they are visiting from Haven Academy, leading Ruby to assume they are visiting for the festival. Ruby then tells them that they are in the wrong dorm and gives them directions to the transfer students' dorm. Cinder thanks her and states that they may meet again. Ruby welcomes them to Beacon, as Cinder walks away, smiling, with her eyes glowing ominously.

But Blake isn't in the mood for games of flirtations and blows everyone off. In her shared dorm Blake goes over the events of last season, but her team shows up with Yang loudly complaining of Neptune beating her at the board/card game. As Blake tries to sneak out, Weiss stops her and demands to know what's bothering Blake so much lately. Blake lets loose a torrent of worries that she has had bottled up.
