Ash and co. arrive at a preschool/daycare center where the children have adopted a Trubbish as a pet that once lived in the dump. The problem is, their teacher objects because Trubbish smells so bad and the children eventually decide to barricade themselves inside their treehouse in protest. Things get complicated when the Sunglasses Sandile shows up looking for Pikachu, but Trubbish helps Ash defend the children, and disaster is narrowly averted when everyone works to prevent a pile of garbage from crushing a Deerling. The teacher learns to accept Trubbish, who consequently stops smelling so bad, and to thank Ash for all of his help, the principal rewards him with a Pokémon egg from the daycare.
