* BreatherEpisode: This episode takes a step back from the main arc, with Castor being completely absent, and mainly focuses on Allison's LighterAndSofter (by the show's standards anyway) storyline. Given how dark the general tone of the show is, and especially [[CharacterDeath what happened]] in the [[WhamEpisode last episode]], this is a good example of [[TropesAreNotBad why it's not necessarily a bad thing.]]

* EntertaininglyWrong: Connie about what really happened at the IV clinic. Even though she herself notes that it's odd the donor she chose was blond (Connie is also blond, and two blonds can't have a brunet child).

* SpecialEffectFailure: A rare instance in the context of Series/OrphanBlack, but in the scene where Alison ushers Cosima over to meet Mother Hendrix, Alison's right hand appears weirdly deformed.
