The original poster claimed that Taystee's demand for the Governor to sentence Bayley may have been met had Gloria and Maria not released guards. With complete respect to the original poster, no state has the legal authority to sentence a man for murder before any investigation has been launched or any charges have been filed. It wasn't a matter of making the Governor change his mind, it was literally extremely illegal for him to meet that demand.
