* InvokedDudeNotFunny: Rainbow Dash says there’s something wrong with the baby she just rescued: “She’s not cheering for everyone’s favorite hero, Rainbow Dash!” Afterwards, Dash gets distracted by the paparazzi and casually tosses the baby to her mother, who doesn’t look too pleased by such carelessness.

Back at Sugarcube Corner, Twilight, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity sing praises about Mare Do Well. An agitated Rainbow Dash refutes their claims, declaring herself to be a better hero than Mare Do Well, only to be called out on her jealousy by the others, including Spike. Unfortunately, there aren't any disasters that need heroism to be found, leaving Rainbow Dash to perform acts of heroism such as pushing Granny Smith across the street (she didn't want to cross), opening a jar of peanut butter (Amethyst Star easily opens it with her magic), and mowing the lawn.

** The Fanfic/PonyPOVSeries isn't solely a Fix Fic, but the author typically does explain Rainbow Dash's behavior in the episode as the result of her trying to cover up/compensate for her HeroicBSOD resulting from how she handled Discord's SadisticChoice. Noteably a very well done example of how to do a Fix Fic right.

* BrokenAesop: The episodes' main morals are something along the lines of not putting your own ego above the needs of others, to not be jealous of someone else for trivial reasons and to help your friends with their problems. The mane six appear more jealous then concerned about Rainbow's boasting and kind of act like jerks about it, even before it becomes a problem. They brag about their own accomplishments as Mare Do Well while talking about how modest and humble said heroine is. When Rainbow finds out her friends are Mare Do Well, they say it was all to help teach her how to be a real hero. While the end goal might’ve been to teach Dash a lesson, which they succeeded in doing and their actions did save lives, the fact still stands that they showed all the behaviors the episode is highly critical of and that if the scenes proceeding Sugarcube Corner is anything to go by, their own hypocrisy towards Rainbow's boasting only made her problems worse.
