* LoopholeAbuse: Though kwamis are unable to be recorded normally, Optigami is able to get around this restriction by being a living being that can broadcast what it sees back to an electronic device.

** Kim runs into Style Queen because he was still climbing the stairs trying to race the elevator and missed the "award" ceremony and Audrey's akumatization.

** To "Oblivio" when [[LockedInARoom Adrien and Marinette get stuck in the elevator and try to open the elevator doors.]] They also get embarrassed after accidentally touching when both of them were reaching for the same thing at the same time again.
** To "Ladybug" when a sentimonster duplicate was used against the heroes.

* MonumentalDamage: Kaalki's liberal use of Voyage portals the Eiffel Tower into a desert, the Arc de Triomphe onto the Moon, and a skyscraper into a volcano. All get reset, of course.

** Gabriel and Nathalie seem to be under the impression that Vesperia was a TemporarySubstitute for Queen Bee and not a full time replacement after the latter’s betrayal, as they have Chloé on the list of allies Ladybug might call upon.

* ILetYouWin: Style Queen gives the heroes a good fight to avoid any suspicions, but in the end Shadow Moth deliberately undermines her by helping Ladybug as Carapace so his plan will succeed.

* InsaneTrollLogic: Marinette tells the "fire department" (read: kwamis) to come on a horse. Kaalki says Marinette couldn't possibly mean her, as she's not a horse; she's a ''steed'', and that it was clearly Fluff being requested. Sass even agrees with this because horses and rabbits share a common ancestor (if you go back a very long way). Marinette is forced to awkwardly try to tell them not to send Fluff in code.

* LongGame: Shadow Moth has started thinking long-term, at least since Fu relinquished the Miracle Box to Ladybug back in "Miracle Queen". "Queen Banana" is stated to have taken place during the holidays, and we see a bunch of offscreen battles occur through recaps by Optigami. Furthermore, the events of "Truth", "Lies", "Gang of Secrets" and "Mr Pigeon 72" all occur within the span of half a week (the former two occurring on the same day), so it would seem that since Ladybug discovered Magical Charms, it has been around three months since "Miracle Queen".

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Style Queen was bearing down on the elevator while Marinette and Adrien were about transform in front of both each other and Optigami, but because Nathalie sees Adrien is in there and Marinette isn't someone they're targeting, Shadow Moth redirects Style Queen elsewhere to spare his son. This not only prevents a direct win from them being turned into glitter, but also keeps him from learning their identities ''and'' saving the duo from having to reveal in front of each other. Furthermore, Adrien spots Optigami on the wall and tells Marinette, allowing her to piece together Shadow Moth's plan at the last second. Gabriel and Nathalie's concern for Adrien cost them three different ways and also inadvertently solved a problem for their enemies.

* Gabriel and Natalie seem to be under the impression that Vesperia was a TemporarySubstitute for Queen Bee and not a full time replacement after the latter’s betrayal, as they have Chloé on the list of allies Ladybug might call upon.

** Despite the Kwamis knowing what happens in the real world while their user is transformed, Wayzz doesn't seem to notice that Nino is talking to Hawk Moth, or monologuing about getting the Miraculous. Perhaps he still doesn't know how to actually call back?

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** After learning the identities of the temporary heroes at the end of "Miracle Queen", it doesn't take long for Shadow Moth and Mayura to take advantage by creating a sentimonster that spies on their daily lives, hoping they can gather more intel on Ladybug and Cat Noir.
** Despite previously claiming she couldn't recruit heroes whose identities were known to Shadow Moth, Ladybug has continued enlisting their aid as necessary. It's not as if she has a deep pool of potential allies to recruit from.
** After discovering that Shadow Moth is spying on her and the other heroes, she entrusts the Fox Miraculous to Alya permanently, thinking it is too dangerous for her to constantly return it to the Miracle Box after every use, and risk outing Marinette as the Guardian.
** When Alya's caught by Optigami giving out a Miraculous while having a loose kwami with her, Nathalie and Gabriel immediately deduce that Ladybug is placing much greater trust in Alya than they previously believed, as Ladybug usually doles out temporary Miraculous personally and has only rarely delegated that task to Cat Noir.

* [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like Mother, Like Daughter]]: [[NotBrainwashed Like Chloé]] in "Queen Banana", Audrey just cuts Shadow Moth's monologue and demands her powers to serve some punishment.

* SecretHandshake: Thanks to Ladybug's lucky charm (which was a small mirror), she discovers that the Nino Alya gave the turtle miraculous to was really a semimonster because he ''didn't'' reciprocate their earlier secret handshake.

** Marinette enters the elevator and nearly says the transformation command before she notices that Adrien is in the elevator with her (he'd been about to transform himself). She's forced to awkwardly pass calling for Tikki as "tik tok, it's time to get out of here".

* HeroicBystander: Most Miraculous holders do anything they can to help even without their powers. Kagami distracts Style Queen to protect Adrien, Max leads people through the safest way to exit and Luka tries to get Wayhem to safety trough ventilation.

* BrickJoke: Kim decides to race the elevator by climbing the stairs. ''Much'' later in the episode, he emerges from the stairwell, out of breath and wondering if he won.

* TheCavalryArrivesLate: Adrien can't transform into Cat Noir because he's trapped with Marinette, and this problem is "solved" by Alya suddenly showing up with Kaalki to portal him halfway across town. By the time he makes it back to Cataclysm the building open, Style Queen has been defeated. As Ladybug lampshades after the fact, she'd have brought him into the building with Alya if she knew his identity.

** Marinette refuses to go into an elevator with Adrien after Alya tells her that elevators are perfect for getting close to your secret crush, asking "What if we accidentally touch?" while resisting Alya trying to push her in it...Marinette and Adrien do actually end up doing that when they get trapped in an elevator later in the episode.
** Rena Rouge decides to bring the Turtle Miraculous with her to the tower, going against Ladybug's express wishes, because she wants to include Nino in the plan.
* FusionDance: Ladybug uses both the Ladybug Miraculous and the Bee Miraculous together to become Lady Bee.

* ILetYouWin: Style Queen gives the heroes a good fight to avoid any suspicions but in the end she must lose if Shadow Moth's plan is supposed to work.

** Shadow Moth doesn't notice the Magical Charm being handed out to Audrey despite his fake Carapace standing right there. Because Ladybug just sneaks it onto her hat without explaining what it is, he likely missed the significance of the gesture.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Ladybug's original plan would have almost certainly denied any opportunity to Optigami to hide on a Miraculous, because she intended to use the Bee Miraculous herself. Alya impulsively brings along the Turtle Miraculous of her own accord to recruit Nino, unaware that Shadow Moth has replaced him. Ladybug's Lucky Charm winds up exposing the ruse, but it got a lot closer than it needed to and provided valuable intel to Gabriel and Nathalie about Alya's relationship with Ladybug.

* NotImportantToThisEpisodeCamp: You'd expect all of Adrien's classmates to be present for such an important moment for him, but the ones who attend are all temporary Miraculous wielders that Shadow Moth knows the identities of. This includes Luka and Kagami, who aren't even his classmates (Adrien's relationship with the former is tangential at best and the latter isn't on very good terms with him because of a bad breakup). Marinette and Zoé also come along, even though Shadow Moth has no reason to believe either has or currently does wield a Miraculous.

* SpoofAesop: The mirror will ''always'' reveal the truth, which helped Ladybug realize Shadow Moth's deception.
