%%Note: due to this episode's exceedingly long title, the editors were forced to shorten the Green With Evil name into initials to fall within the name space limit. The same thing applies for the episode immediately after this one.

The Rangers attempt to morph, but the Power Morphers blow up in a cloud of sparks. Alpha explains that the interdimensional power surge has shut down all devices within headquarters, and those using the Morphin Grid. They're unable to morph and forced to witness Goldar's destruction. Finster is upset that the Green Ranger is the key to destroying the Rangers as opposed to one of his monsters, but the other villains don't care. Finishing a sword kata, Tommy is now ready to join Goldar in battle. Billy plays with the circuitry again and eventually brings most of the Command Centre back online, along with the Morphin Grid. Deploying against Goldar, they fight against the Putties and Scorpina. But Scorpina's stinger scimitar and Goldar's giant stomps present formidable threats. Alpha picks up Zordon once again, but Goldar creates near-earthquake conditions at the Youth Center and Ernie calls an evacuation. Bulk stalls to munch down his ice cream, but he and Skull soon steal the YC bus and drive off recklessly thanks to Skull's inane driving. Alpha tries to lock down Zordon, but Tommy invades the headquarters again and disables the robot with a pulled fuse.

Rita flies down to Earth and taunts the Rangers, calling Jason in particular a fool. She commands Goldar to pick up the escaping bus and he sadistically plays with it, threatening Bulk and Skull if the Rangers refuse to surrender. Distraught at the monster causing a life or death situation for civilians, the Rangers begin to panic. Goldar takes the bus to a cliff face at the beach, placing it precariously. Tommy taunts Zordon again, vowing to finish the job this time round. He deletes the signal lock using the console and Zordon fades out. The team realise that Squatt, Baboo and the Putties are rocking the bus over the cliff edge with tree logs; they are unable to respond for fear of the villains pushing it over fully. They finally decide to call on the Megazord. Unexpectedly, Alpha wakes up using a backup energy source and traps Tommy in a forcefield, just as Zordon's signal is lost. As the Zords form up, the bad guys start to push the cliff off for real. In the knick of time, the Megazord catches the bus falling off the cliff and places it safely out of danger. Bulk and Skull rejoice at being spared, but Goldar attacks the Megazord as the eclipse spell comes into effect. They fight as the scene begins to darken, and Rita grows Scorpina. The evil warrior is revealed to have a hideous scorpion monstrous form in her giant state, complete with pincers and real stinger, and starts to double team the Rangers with Goldar. The Megazord fights bravely, but Billy continues to read out the rapidly draining solar power levels and the tide of the battle turns.

At full solar eclipse, the power is almost gone, but Jason calls for the Mega Power Sword to conduit energy into the mecha's cells. Alpha cannot recover Zordon, and Tommy gloats as such, causing the robot to threaten to unmask the mysterious Green Ranger. The Megazord battles back against Goldar and Scorpina with the Sword, and Rita overrides the forcefield with enchantments, teleporting him to the battlefield and growing him too. Now in a 3 to 1 handicap scenario, the behemoth villains gang up and defeat the Megazord. Scorpina [[ShockAndAwe overloads it with electricity from her sting]], and Tommy and Goldar blast it with a combined sword energy blast. Finally, it ejects the team and falls into a fissure in the Earth. The Rangers witness their beloved vehicles getting swallowed up by the lava, significantly wrecked, and despair. At the Command Centre, [[DespairEventHorizon Kim, Billy, Trini and Zack are numb and doubt that they can ever come back from this defeat.]] Only Jason clings onto hope. Alpha refuses to give up too, even with a less than 10% chance of recovering Zordon, and does not allow the team to submit. Meanwhile, the computer has completed analysis on the Green Ranger while he was trapped in stasis, and it reveals his true identity on the Viewing Globe. [[TheReveal To the shock of all five Power Rangers,]] [[ToBeContinued they realise that it's been Tommy Oliver this whole time...]]
