Zordon orders the Rangers to retrieve the Genie's lamp (which has been left at the park) and they take it to the Command Centre before heading back out to tackle the Putties and Goldar. They are just a diversion however and the team are redeployed against the Genie who mops the floor with them by encasing them in a net. Teleporting back to Zordon, the Rangers regroup. Kimmy correctly spots that they need to marshal their powers with teamwork and combined force. Rita grows the Genie and the Megazord is summoned. Alpha traces the source of the Genie's power, which is of course the lamp. Being unable to immediately teleport it into oblivion for fear of destroying the morphing grid, Alpha has to gradually increase power instead. After a CurbStompBattle delivered by the Genie, Alpha finally disintegrates the lamp and by extension, the Genie. The team restore Billy and Kimberly to their normal selves, along with, reluctantly, Bulk and Skull. Billy refuses to lend out his brain for Skull's math test!

Snooping around in Billy's lab at night, Squatt sabotages the power couplings of Billy's new invention. Then Rita prepares to send down her latest monster, the Genie which comes from a lamp obtained from another galaxy. The next day, Billy explains to Kimberly that his machine has been designed to "facilitate direct thought transfer" or in other words, to allow mind reading. Bulk and Skull, hiding behind the Radbug, are eavesdropping and greedily curious about the technology. Offering herself as a test subject, Kim and Billy fire up the machine but due to Squatt's hijinks, the pair actually end up swapping their personalities (and his glasses!) between each other's bodies. Bulk and Skull make the same mistake and trade their minds. Unhappy with this "spatial personality displacement", "Billberly" and "Kimmy" go into school the next day with gender-flipped clothing and makeup, in an embarrassing fashion. Inevitably, they each botch up their respective extra-curricular teaching activities due to lack of expertise: computer skills for Kimmy, and cooking for Billberly. These have ExplosiveOverclocking effects in both instances, and cause mutual frustration. "Skulk" and "Bulll" get up to much the same bickering comedy as their usual selves.

* AdaptationalVillainy: In Zyuranger the genie (or Djinn as he was called) was more of a PunchClockVillain since he obeyed whoever held the lamp and genuinely liked when his masters treated him nice, despising Bandora. Here however he is a one-dimensional baddie who loyally served Rita and never even granted one wish.
