In fact, they stumble into Lupin as he leaves the restaurant, but luckily the thief and Fujiko manage to make their getaway. Before splitting up, Lupin promise to give the royal crown to her as a gift. The following day the trio go after the Crown, kept in the Tower of London, and manage to spy on Dover and Pepper, finding out that the latter is comically afraid of ghosts, which Lupin exploits to play a joke on him. In the room where the crown is guarder, Pepper announce that they’re waiting for Zenigata to reinforce the defenses, so Lupin, disguised as a guard, asks to leave for a toilet break. Soon, “Zenigata” arrives and is promptly arrested by the British cops, while Pepper reveals that Zenigata was under arrest and that Lupin has fall for their trap. However Jigen, disguised as a suit of armor, comes to Lupin’s rescue, and despite Pepper’s attempt to choke them with a cloud of pepper, the duo escapes the trap.
In his cell, Zenigata complains about the situation, while the two inspectors receive a letter from Lupin, who claims he’ll steal the crown during the wedding ceremony in Westminster Abbey. The following day Lupin, disguised as an old man, is approached by the gluttonous Dover, intrigued by the former’s onigiri, and in exchange for a snack and some water for his slimming pills he gets to visit the inside of the Abbey, which allows Lupin to both notice how Dover always takes his pills on noon and to put a few devices in hidden spots inside. Zenigata still tries to get Pepper to listen to him, but he’s left in his cell. The following day, the grandiose ceremony is taking place in Westminster Abbey when Jigen, on Lupin’s orders, shoots the Big Ben’s clock hands, moving them to noon and causing Dover to go looking for some water. Soon, fog invades the Abbey and a sinister laughter is heard, making Pepper too scared to do anything as Lupin recovers the Crown from Mary’s head with a fishing rod.
The master thief makes his escape with his car while both Jigen and Goemon hold back the guards, but eventually Dover orders to raise Tower Bridge and Lupin falls into the Thames, but is rescued in the nick of time by Fujiko on an helicopter while Zenigata angrily yells at him from his cell. Once the group has made it far enough from London, Lupin tries to get on the helicopter but a sneeze makes him lose the crown, which falls right in the hands of Jigen and Goemon as a furious Fujiko kicks Lupin out of the copter. That evening, Jigen watches Lupin (hanging from the tower of a castle ruin with his parachute) from Stonehenge; wondering if this will cure him of his obsession with Fujiko.
