Continuing from the previous volume, Tigrevurud Vorn and Eleonora Viltaria have saved Brune with Titta in tow, but Brune's civil war has begun. With his son Zion dead, Duke Felix Aaron Thenardier decides to up the stakes by having another war maiden, Ludmila Lourie of Olmütz, and the Seven Chains Assassins (or Serrash) stop Tigre and his allies. Meanwhile, Elen meets with King Viktor Arthur Volk Estes Tur Zhcted regarding her cause. However, Elen soon encounters Mila, and she learns from fellow war maiden Sofya Obertas of Polesia that Mila's family has had ties with Thenardier for many years. On top of that, Mila is interested in Tigre, which irritates Elen. With tensions brewing between Leitmeritz and Olmütz, the war maidens must settle their differences once and for all.

* HeelRealization: Mila admits to Tigre that working with Thenardier to uphold her family ties and has made her sad. She ends up ditching Thenardier by the volume's end.
