* AmbiguouslyEvil: Throughout the episode it's kept genuinely ambiguous whether Bishop really has or hasn't reformed, with both the Legends themselves and the viewers being thrown for a loop each time. It's not until they discover that Bishop purposely induced Mick's labor so he could steal his earpiece that it's clear that no, he really is still a bad guy.

* PlayAlongPrisoner: Bishop could've left any time, due to having Sara's memories of the access code, and does so once Mick goes into labour.

** John struggles with withdrawal throughout the episode...and fails miserably due to self-loathing. This shows that it is very hard to get clean the first time around.

* WhamEpisode: John fails to deal with his addiction. Bishop manipulates everyone by inducing Mick's pregnancy to get to his comms and manipulate one of them to his side. While everyone does figure this out, it is too late: He gets to John by promising him the return of his magic.

He feigns redemption to Sara, preys on Ava's insecurities to garner sympathy and ultimately manages to sneak a conversation with John to cut a deal for his freedom in exchange for helping him get his magic back.

* BoringReturnJourney: The premise of the episode is that John damaged the warp drive trying to find the Waverider last episode, and with Flannel!Zari back in the Totem, nobody can fix it and the group have to journey home the long way, which will take three weeks. The group becomes bored out of their skull almost immediately, causing them to eventually accept Gary's invitation to play his board game.

* BodyHorror: Mick giving birth to Kayla's babies would have involved them coming out of his ears, but they end up being born out of his nose. His head is writhing throughout the whole process, including his eyes bulging out of his head as they work their way down.

* ManipulativeBastard: Bishop.

* SplitPersonalityTakeover: The part of Constantine that incarnated as the Beast in the last episode is still taunting him over his desire for magical power. At the end it forces John to keep drinking vampire blood.
