* BalefulPolymorph: The Godmother turns Mick and Ray into pigs.

** The episode pulls no punches on the cruelty of tribalism and persecution.

* LeeroyJenkins: Zari, and her unresolved grief over the death of her mother, attacks the minister and his toadies with her totem powers. All she does is scare the crap out of the town and get branded a witch as well.

* ShownTheirWork: Both Constantine and Sara point out that there was never any magic in Salem, and they hanged people instead of burning them. Of course, with the timeline shenanigans, there is now magic and Zari manages to piss off the villagers enough that they decide to bring back burning.

** The episode's overall point is that no good comes from [[HeWhoFightsMonsters becoming as bad as the people who hurt you]].
** The episodes teaches that tribalism and persecution are bad,

** The man who accused Jane of witchcraft, and who was heavily implied to have done it because she rejected his romantic advances, gets his eyes pecked out by crows. Zari and Sara have a hard time feeling sorry for him.

* BurnTheWitch: Initially averted, as Jane was going to be hanged, but after Zari demonstrates her magic both of them are about to be burned.

** Beebo is seen on a computer pad.

* FairyDevilmother: The Legends face a fairy godmother that on the surface appears to be the sweet and kindly [[WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}} version]], complete with singing and sparkly magic, but is actually a malevolent parasite that grants its host's wishes in order to feed off their life force. Fortunately, she can't use any magic without her hosts consent, so her sadistic desires are stymied by trying to manipulate them into wanting it as well.

** Zari, having grown up in a police state, has zero tolerance for Salem's bigotry. Unfortunately she can't control her temper and uses her powers on the villagers, before she has a MyGodWhatHaveIDone...which leads to her imprisonment and her totem confiscated. Luckily Sara is very understanding.

* NoOntologicalInertia: Prudence releasing the fairy godmother, thus removing herself as the Godmothers' host, instantly undoing all the things she wished for the godmother to do, like turning Mick and Ray into pigs and sealing Constantine's mouth.

* ShownTheirWork: Both Constantine and Sara point out that there was never any magic in Salem, and they hanged people instead of burning them. Of course, with timeline shenanigans now there is magic, and Zari manages to piss off the villagers enough that they decide to bring back burning.

* FairyGodmother: The Legends face one that on the surface appears to be the sweet and kindly [[WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}} version]], complete with singing and sparkly magic, but is actually a malevolent parasite that grants its host's wishes in order to feed off their life force.

* RealityEnsues: Zari tries to appeal to the humanity of a god-fearing people raised to fear any hint of witchcraft. Since she makes this argument after using actual magic in front of them, Zari only manages to get herself accused of witchcraft as well and elevates her and Jane's punishment [[FromBadToWorse from hanging to being burned at the stake]].

* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: While the Fairy Godmother is a threat, the real villains of the episode are the hate-filled humans trying to lynch an innocent woman.

* FairyGodmother: The Legends face one that on the surface appears to be the sweet and kindly [[Disney/{{Cinderella}} version]], complete with singing and sparkly magic, but is actually a malevolent parasite that grants its host's wishes in order to feed off their life force.

* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: The Fairy Godmother looks as sweet and wholesome as the name implies. She's actually jaded, nasty, and more than a little sadistic. She's downright gleeful at the idea of feeding the Legends to a murder of hungry crows, and happily anticipates raining fire down on Salem before Prudence rejects her.

* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: While the Fairy Godmother is a threat too, the real villains of the episode are the hate-filled humans trying to lynch an innocent woman.

** Zari, having grown up in a police state, has zero tolerance for Salem's bigotry. Unfortunately she can't control her temper and uses her powers on the villagers, before she has a MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment... which leads to her imprisonment and her totem confiscated. Luckily Sara is very understanding.
