* AuthorAvatar: In-universe, Lizzie's role in the hallucination is to literally play the part of her own self-insert character from her original version of the story. Hope's own AuthorAvatar from her revised version of the story shows up as a separate character to rescue the trio after they've been captured by the story's villain.
* BluffTheImposter: When the Wendigo tries to hitch a ride with Kaleb while disguised as MG, Kaleb immediately catches on that it's not MG when the Wendigo readily agrees to leave Jed behind (something that Kaleb knows the real MG would never do).
* CanonForeigner: Hope's role in the hallucination is one as she's in the part of a character who didn't exist in Lizzie's original version of the story, which is the first clue to the girls that the hallucination is not an exact recreation of Lizzie's original story.
